How can I test the humidity level in an incubator? I'm planning on hatching duck eggs. I have this incubator: http://www.fleetfarm.com/catalog/product_detail/farm-livestock/poultry-supplies-equipment/incubators-hatchers/little-giant-still-air-incubator I have a thermometer to keep tabs on the temperature. However, I have to keep the humidity level at 86%. How do I test that? Thanks!
Is supplying chicken meat a good business idea or does this give a poultry return for your investment? I don't want to cry fowl but I heard rumours that peple are ducking for cover in this economic lean time.
Is it okay to use feed store type poultry seed for wild birds? I’m using Kaytee Ultimate Nut and Fruit Blend wild bird food on the ground (in a large tray) and have several species of birds eating it. But they are not eating the peanuts or dried fruit. I was wondering if it’s okay to get only the ingredients they like from our local farm supply store? I may save money that way too and not attract the ants that want the dried fruit that the birds leave. Thoughts?
What are your feelings about poultry, cattle and hog confinements? Does the general public understand that the majority of our meat sources are supplied by producers who utilize the concept of a confinement, as opposed to open feed lot or free range?
Vegetarian food that supplies energy? Hello, I am going on a strenuos hiking trip in 15 days with an Indian freind of mine. I will be taking food for us so we can eat and regain some energy and important vitamins and minerals we will lose hiking. Does anyone know of any Vegetarian type of food that can be packed in a backpack that will help regain one's vitamins and minerals? Any suggestions would be great. I will be taking roast beef sandwiches for myself to help me, as well as other meat/poultry like beef jerky. Something along these lines would be great. Thank you all in advance for your time Rudy

how would you start your own farm? Say you inherited money and live in a suburban area. There few farms around. Say you wanted to start your own farm (such as poultry, or rabbit) to free range the animals and sell organic. How would you figure out how to start? what supplies to need? What if someone wanted to buy just one body part? I have many more questions. But I need a place to start. I am dedicated to doing this. Can anyone help please?
How come the liberals think that Israel is stopping supplies from entering Palestine? Large quantities of essential food items like baby formula, wheat, meat, dairy products and other perishables are transferred daily and weekly to Gaza. Fertilizers that cannot be used to make explosives are shipped into the Strip regularly, as are potato seeds, eggs for reproduction, bees, and equipment for the flower industry. In 2009 alone, more than 738,000 tons of food and supplies entered Gaza. Pictures in local newspapers show local markets aplenty with fruit, vegetables, cheese, spices, bread and meat to feed 1.4 million Gazans. In the first quarter of 2010 (January-March), 94,500 tons of supplies were transferred in 3,676 trucks to the Strip: 48,000 tons of food products; 40,000 tons of wheat; 2,760 tons of rice; 1,987 tons of clothes and footwear; 553 tons of milk powder and baby food. In a typical week the IDF coordinates the transfer of hundreds of trucks containing about 15,000 tons of supplies. During the week of May 18, 2010 there were more than 100 truckloads of animal food, 65 trucks of fruit and vegetables; 22 truckloads of sugar, some 27 truckloads of meat, poultry and fish; and 40 trucks of dairy products. At holiday times, Israel increases transfers. During the Muslim holy days of Ramadhan and Eid al-Adha, Israel shipped some 11,000 heads of cattle into the Strip. http://www.mfa.gov.il/MFA/About+the+Ministry/Behind+the+Headlines/Israeli_humanitarian_lifeline_Gaza_25-May-2010.htm and the list goes on and on and on. Why do liberals support the myths told to them by the liberal lunatics on the media??
How much would it cost to build a complete green Vertical Farm? One that could feed 50,000 people and supply fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy, fish, and poultry all in the same building, but separate chambers. All while using solar, hydro, and wind power to supply electric. The use of all types of ponic farming can be used, but no soil(dirt) should be used.
Is it true that Israel sends 15,000 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza weekly? It is my understanding that truckloads of fish, poultry, meat, milk and dairy products, vegetables, fruits, baby food, flour, medical supplies, building supplies (except those which can be used to fortify bunkers), and other supplies are shipped to Gaza daily, amounting to 15,000 tons of humanitarian aid in a typical week. So what is the necessity and urgency of the so-called humanitarian aid flotilla?
how to get rid of little flies on my patio? I took a sample of the flies down to the local farm supply and they said they are poultry fly's. There is nothing for them to eat or drink. I put up fans and they are still there. Fly traps don't work and fly tape is not effective either. Please help!
How do people feel about eating radioactive food? Would you continue to do so if you knew it was radioactive? Ionizing radiation is currently fairly widely used to disinfect the seriously contaminated US food supply (and those of other countries). I'm wondering if many people know about this, and do you care (or, at the very least, would you want to know if the food you're buying is irradiated?). {It's actually not really radio active (for the most part), however, a 4.5kilGray dose is equal to 150 million x-rays. The doses permitted by the FDA vary, but most doses are above this level (fruits and vegetables, get a max of 100,00 rads (1 kiloGray), poultry gets 450,000 rads (4.5 kiloGray), for red meat, 700,000 rads (7 kiloGray), for spices 3,000,000 rads (30 kiloGray).}

I will probably eventually get 3 rabbits... but I will first be getting one, then a while later I will get another. Can a small rabbit live with a big one? Is the hutch ok?

Can you keep chickens and ducks in the same coop/house? My family have been looking into buying chickens for years, but we have recently thought of having ducks and chickens together. They will be free to roam around the garden during the day, but we will need to lock them up at night so they won't be eaten by foxes! Is it possible to do this with one coop? Also, which breeds of ducks are best for eating slugs? The coop we are looking into buying is this...http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Hen-Chicken-Poultry-Coop-House-Run-great-quality-CC047_W0QQitemZ270345724635QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Pet_Supplies_Poultry?hash=item270345724635&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1229%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1309 Is this suitable? Here is the hutch/run I am buying for them: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Giant-Poultry-Chicken-House-Coop-SHED-Rabbit-Hutch-0588_W0QQitemZ300316741075QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Pet_Supplies_Poultry?hash=item45ec45cdd3&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50#ebayphotohosting 1. Is it big enough for a Netherland dwarf, and a Mini Lop? And maybe another of either kind? 2. How much does it cost to look after them each month? 3. How much will they eat each? So how much will each rabbit eat a day.

Rabbit owners help please? Thinking about getting a rabbit or 2.? Hi. I am thinking about getting two rabbits. I will be getting two females. Do i need two hutches for them? I dont know much about rabbits, so I want to research fully before I commit myself to a rabbit(s) Will two females get on? I dont want a male... as I already have a male cat and a male chihiuahua, so I want two females. What kind of hutch should I get for two? How big does it have to be for two dwarfs? And how big does it need to be for two medium sized ones? Repair Marley Pressure Pipe? I need to repair a split 50mm Marley Pressure pipe on a complicated joint in a poultry house without cutting and joining the pipe. The water supply must not fail and it will have very little time to dry.
Question for raising chicks? It has been a while since I have had chickens and I want them to be as healthy as they can. I live on an acre that has never had chickens on before. The closest chickens are 1/4 mile away. We have 6 two week old chicks, currently kept in our house. I plan to raise them organically and let them free range. I am having a hard time on the chicken websites finding out exactly what things I need to be doing in the vaccination/deworming/health department. I feel they are low risk, but what is absolutley imperative to give them? Is there a vaccination schedule like they have for dogs? Do I have to start them with the medicated food or can I stick with the organic? What should I be doing to prepare them for going outdoors other than reducing the cage temperature and putting in some grit w/ food. Any helpful websites or poultry supply stores would be appreciated.
Rasing baby turkeys (poults)? Is it the same as baby chicks? I have raised 7 Black Austrolorp chicks, they are almost full grown know. And I am thinking of getting two or three turkeys. But I have some questions about it. The Poultry supply store that has them has two different types. There are whites and browns. Its not very specific, but I want the brown ones. 1. Can you keep just one, two, or three? 2. How long until they are full grown? 3. Do you keep them in the same type of brooder as chicks? 4. Do they need a heat lamp? 5. Would two or three turkeys get along with seven chickens? Its ok as long as they dont kill each other. 6. Are there any tips about raising turkey poults? Thanks, I will pick a best answer.
Salmonella, I know that poultry & fish are the main problems with this, but I have a ? about..... ? If these products are cooked good and say a person leaves the chicken on the counter in a bowl for 9 - 10 hours, mind you it's a very cool kitchen, because of the floor being above the basement, my kitchen remains very cool, sometimes kind of cold to me anyway, and of course at night it's colder, which this was, I live in a apt where they supply the heat and they only allow it to go just so high, so for me, it's cold a lot, but anyway back to the purpose of this ?, if I left chicken/cooked that long out, is it safe to eat? I was a whole pkg and non was eaten after cooking and I hate to throw it out but of course health is a 1st priority, or what if I put it in the oven again and cook it for say 15 mins at 350 till it gets good and hot, wouldn't that kill the bacteria, if it had developed in the chicken in those hours out? Was so tired, I forgot to put in frig, what a waste, if I have to toss....I would like both scenerio's ?'s answered PLEASE, is it safe 10 hrs out & not have to cook it, or should I cook to make it safe? FYI, it's just me that I cook for, no one else, so I would be taking the chance for only myself.....
Are you better off with a tax dollar back in your pocket or a safe food supply? Or is this one of those "personal responsibility" issues where the smart consumer relies on their own bacterial cultures before eating instead of that nanny-state USDA? ""2005 "Risk based Inspections": ""Far from a minor adjustment intended to maximize food safety, this plan is really being used as a way to reduce the USDA’s budget. The changes in the way inspectors are assigned to meat and poultry plants would make current inspector shortages permanent, effectively shrinking the size of the agency’s frontline inspection workforce.""
Can you name some reasons to go vegetarian? ONE HUNDRED & ONE REASONS TO GO VEGETARIAN People Land Air Water Efficiency Animals Health PEOPLE Every year in the UK we feed our livestock enough food to feed 250,000,000 people while in the world 30,000,000 people die of starvation 20 vegetarians can live off the land required by one meat eater Every 3 seconds a child dies of starvation somewhere in the world If Americans reduced their meat consumption by 10% it would free 12,000,000 tons of grain - enough to feed 60,000,000 people (the population of Great Britain) If all Americans became vegetarian, it would free enough grain to feed 600,000,000 people (the population of India) Intensification in animal farming has displaced 1,000,000's of people from their traditional lands - eg. indigenous people in south & central america, native americans in north america & crofters in Great Britain - this is continuing today People displaced from their lands into cities succumb to dietary deficiency, diseases, parasites & opportunistic diseases In third world countries 1 in 10 babies die before their first birthday The UK imports £46,000,000 worth of grain from third world countries to feed our livestock Due to overgrazing 850,000,000 people live on land threatened by desertification & over 230,000,000 already live on land so severely desertified that they are unable to sustain their existence & face imminent starvation 1,000,000,000 people in the west gorging on meat & dairy leave 1,000,000,000 to waste away & 3,500,000,000 teeter on the brink LAND If they continue to clear American forests to raise cattle at the present rate, in 50 years there will be none left 1 acre yields 165 lbs of beef or 20,000 lbs of potatoes 8/10 of cultivated land in the UK is used to grow food for animals (14,732,000 hectares) It takes 16lbs of high protein soya to produce 1 lb of beef Since 1945 in the UK we have lost 95% of flower meadows, 50% of ancient woodlands, 40% of heathlands, 50% of wet lands & 224,000 km of hedgerows all due to animal farming Pressure on land due to meat farming leads to soil erosion 6billion tons/year in the USA If everyone went vegetarian upto 90% of land used for animal farming could be taken out of production & used to replant woodlands, leisure activities etc. 25% of Central america's forests have been destroyed for cattle grazing since 1960 Between 1966-1983 38% of the Amazon rain forest was destroyed for cattle grazing 90% of cattle ranches established on cleared forest land go bankrupt in less than 8 years as the land becomes barren due to nutrient loss & overgrazing Overgrazing by cattle is destroying the land & increasing desertification, nearly 430 million acres in the USA alone has suffered a 25-50% reduction in yield since first grazed An inch of topsoil takes 200-1000 years to develop - yet in the USA they have lost around 1/3 of their prime topsoil in 200 years (around 7 inches) due to animal farming Land will be lost due to rises in sea level due to global warming due to animal farming AIR The destruction of the rainforest by cattle farmers is destroying the lungs of the planet & reducing the worlds capacity to replenish our oxygen supply The 1,300,000,000 cattle in the world emit 60,000,000 tons of methane per year (methane is a greenhouse gas & leads to global warming) Burning of forests, grasslands & agricultural waste associated with animal farming releases 50-100,000,000 tons of methane per year Combining these figures, 25% of methane emissions are due to animal farming (not including the billions of sheep, pigs & poultry so the real figure is much higher) Fertilizer used to grow crops to feed to animals releases nitrous oxide - thought to account for 6% of the greenhouse effect Fertilizer, weedkiller & pesticides sprayed on crops enter the atmosphere creating a noxious carcinogenic cocktail CFCs are released into the air from refrigeration units used to store decomposing flesh (meat), milk & butter - CFCs are destroy the ozone layer Ammonia from animal urine also pollutes the atmosphere CO2 is released by burning oil & petrol in lorries, ships, abattoirs, dairies, factories etc. associated with meat & dairy production Emissions from large chemical plants which produce fertilizer, weedkiller & other agricultural chemicals are also poisoning our air WATER 25 gallons of water to produce 1lb of wheat & 2500 gallons to produce 1lb of meat UK farm animals produce 200,000,000 tonnes of slurry (liquid excrement) every year, the majority of which ends up in our rivers Bloody waste water from abattoirs ends up in our rivers In the USA every second humans produce 12,000 lbs of effluent while farmed animals produce 250,000 lbs Nitrates & pesticides used on crops grown to feed livestock end up in our rivers Meat & dairy farming uses 70 litres of water per day per animal in the UK or 159,250,000,000 litres per year in total The water used to produce 10 lbs of steak is equivalent to the average consumption of water for an entire household for an entire year Depletion of groundwater reserves to grow crops for animals & to supply abattoirs will lead to greater water shortages Aquafers (stores of underground water) in the San Joaquin valley in the USA are being drained at the rate of 500,000,000,000 gallons/year to produce meat 18% of all agricultural land in the world is irrigated & as global warming increases (partly due to animal farming) it will cost $200,000,000 to keep these systems going The water used to produce a 1000 lb beef steer is enough to float a Destroyer battleship The liquid waste from the various parts of the meat & dairy industry flow into the rivers & from there into the seas polluting them & encouraging huge algal blooms to grow EFFICIENCY To produce 1calorie of energy from meat takes 60 calories of petrol, whereas growing grains & legumes to directly feed people produces 20 calories for each calorie of fuel used ( thats 1200 times more efficient) Meat & dairy farming uses billions of gallons of oil to run tractors, fuel ships & lorries (to move animal feed & animals), pump billions of gallons of water to irrigate fields & run slaughterhouses, power refrigeration units to prevent the corpses from decomposing & to power sewage plants to clean up some of the pollution produced Cattle convert only 6% of their energy intake (mainly grains & soya) into flesh, the remaining 94% is wasted as heat, movement (which is why they keep many animals in very close confinement), hair, bones, faeces etc 1lb of beef takes 1 gallon of petrol to produce A family of four eating beef for a year uses enough petrol to run a car for 6 months (obviously depending on how far you drive!) If the full ecological cost of meat was passed onto the consumer - the price would be quadrupled (at least) The EC spends œ100,000,000's to subsidise animal production resulting in lakes of unwanted milk & mountains of unwanted meat & butter. This money could be better spent encouraging organic fruit, vegetable & grain production In the USA in 1979 145,000,000 tons of crops were fed to cattle resulting in only 21million tons of animal bodies - the cost of the wasted crops was $20,000,000,000 Between 1950 & 1985 grain production in Europe & the USA increased massively but 2/3 was fed to animals 70% of all grain is fed to animals Eating vast quantities of animal flesh, eggs, milk & butter is a luxury that most of the planet can not afford ANIMALS Fishing with drift (and other modern) nets weakens & destroys ecosystems by indiscriminately killing billions of sea creatures & disrupting the sea bed Fishermen's nets kill 10 times as many other animals as the fish they are hoping to catch Fish caught in nets die an agonising slow death of suffocation Each year 15,000,000,000 land animals are slaughtered for food & an unknown but much larger number of sea creatures (including 1000's of dolphins caught accidentally) Chickens are crammed into battery cages with upto 3 other birds, they are unable to even spread their wings & many can not even stand up Unwanted male chicks (because they can't lay eggs) are gassed or pulped while their sisters go to the battery sheds Chicks are debeaked without anaesthetic to prevent them injuring each other in the unnaturally confined conditions they are kept in - this is equivalent to having your fingernails pulled out without anaesthetic Modern farming methods using growth hormones & artificial lighting mean that many chickens out grow their bones, resulting in fractured & broken legs Sows are kept tethered in stalls 1.3 x 1 metre on concrete or slatted floors - they can not even turn around Poultry raised for meat are kept in windowless broiler sheds, with around 20-30,000 in each shed, they live in an area of 10-20 cm square - fighting due to overcrowding is common & like battery hens they commonly suffer from supperating bed sores Broilersheds are artificially lit 23 hours a day to produce rapid growth Animals travel between farms & to slaughter in overcrowded transporters with no food or water - resulting in stress, injuries & deaths - legal requirements are widely ignored 95% of poultry suffer injuries before being killed & 30% suffer broken bones Problems with stunning practices mean that many animals have their throats slit while still conscious (around 6% of cattle or 200,000 per year) & are then dipped in tanks of scalding water (to loosen feathers, bristles etc.) again while fully conscious 4000 animals die spurting their blood out every minute in a British slaughterhouse Calf leather comes from animals killed at just 2 weeks old Cows were fed on the ground up remains of other cows & sheep - the result is thought to be BSE (mad cow disease) in the USA cattle are fed partly on recycled plastic pellets Cows only give milk for 10 months after they have a calf - so they are routinely artificially inseminated (ie. mechanically raped) to keep them pregnant & milking - their calves are taken away (usually at 12 hours old) for meat or export to veal crates Cows would naturally live upto 20 years but are slaughtered after 5-7 years when their milk production begins to fall In the UK animals are killed by first being stunned with electricity or a captive bolt gun (ie. a bolt is fired into their heads) before having their throats slit & being plunged into boiling water - all this happens on a production line with the animals being hung upside down from a moving conveyor belt - this is factory farming "Animals are those unfortunate slaves & victims of the most brutal part of mankind" - John Stewart Mill (philosopher) Veal calves are confined in stalls in the dark, unable to move & are fed on pigs blood , chocolate & dried milk (we are drinking the rich fresh milk of their mothers) Cows naturally produce 5 litres of milk per day for their calves - under the intensified systems of modern farming they produce 25-40 litres per day - resulting in swollen & inflamed udders - at this rate they are soon worn out Large areas of land are under monoculture to grow crops to feed to animals - these areas are wildlife deserts supporting fewer & fewer species. HEALTH Vegetarians have a 20% lower rate of mortality from all causes (ie. they live longer & don't get sick as often) Meat is full of traces of antibiotics, hormones, toxins produced by stress & pesticide residues that become concentrated from all the crops they have eaten Fish contain heavy metals & other pollutants -many of which originated on farms The world health organisation recommends a diet low in saturated fat, sugar, salt & with plenty of fibre - exactly what you get on a vegan/vegetarian diet Farmed animals contain upto 50% saturated fat in their bodies Vegetarians have 24% reduced risk of getting heart disease & Vegans a 57% reduction (heart disease is the biggest killer in the UK accounting for 50% of deaths) Obesity is rare in vegetarians, obesity is related to many diseases Vegans & vegetarians have lower blood pressure & cholesterol levels - high levels are associated with heart disease, strokes & kidney failure Vegetarians have a 50% reduced risk of dying of diabetes Vegetarians have a 40% reduced level of cancer than the general population thought to be because they have a higher intake of vitamins A,C & E Vegetarians have a reduced risk of developing gall & kidney stones 80% of food poisoning is due to infected meat (faeces, bacteria etc.) after all meat is decomposing flesh - most of the rest is due to salmonella in eggs Osteoporosis due to calcium loss from bones is mainly due to the sulphur content in meat & casein protein in milk that cause calcium to be lost in the urine - the countries with the highest meat & dairy consumption are those with the highest levels of brittle bones 50% of people do not have the enzyme to digest milk properly & milk allergy is related to asthma & eczema Meat eaters have double the rate of Alzheimers disease as Vegans & Vegetarians - some people also think that Parkinsons disease is also linked to meat eating Egg yolk is a dense concentration of saturated fat & the white is high in albumin protein associated with leaching calcium into your urine. Butter is 80% saturated fat, cream is 40% saturated fat & cheese is 25-40% saturated fat Meat eaters are two and a half times more likely to get bowel cancer than Vegetarians The cling film used to wrap meat in supermarkets & butchers contains chemicals linked to falling sperm counts in men Chinese people (living mainly on a vegetarian diet) consume 20% more calories than Americans but Americans are 20% fatter Of 2,100,000 deaths in the USA in 1987, 1,500,000 were related to diet (ie. meat & dairy) AND I COULD GO ON ! If you've read this far, I hope that you are beginning to see that the Meat & Dairy industry is a major contributor to misery on this planet. It is destroying the health of people in rich countries, starving those in poor countries, it is torturing & killing billions of animals every year and in the meantime it is one of the major factors in the destruction of the environment - so what does the meat & dairy industry have to say in it's defence? Well their only real point is usually "Meat is tasty" - fair enough a lot of people enjoy the taste of meat - but there are plenty of delicious alternatives (just consider the huge range of vegetarian dishes in Indian cooking - one of the oldest & most sophisticated cuisines in the world) and if you really crave meat & dairy, nowadays there are plenty of healthy non animal alternatives - just look in the supermarket & health food shop. So I hope you will agree it's pretty pathetic to consider all the evidence & then say "well I know you're right about the environment & health & the animals - but I just love my meat" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note: ARC is @nti-copyright throughout - Copy and distribute any part as you wish. The Quality of chicken in australia provided by cordina, biada ,redlea ,golden rose and inghams (political)? The quality of my taste to the start of how the chicken industry supplies feed for poultry involves the table setting as well .As purchasing different food from food providers as taste in- volves the quality of feed fed to poultry and colour of the birds meat and the feather colour involves the colour as well the meat as different breeds as well .Quality comes with experience and cordina, biada, red lea, golden rose, inghams have recently have had a change in the taste of poultry meats as well as i buy a piece of poultry from each to gain experience of taste .Many poultry farmers in australia supply these organisations as well and need to speak with each other in respect to gain quality assurance for the public and of the world to be able to export to the world from australia as food is political in way as providers provide for the world.Taste come with experiencse and third world tastes in food when there is no communication between organisation and food providers as well .Team work. Food is so poltical as it feeds the world including stock brokers and world leaders and the average every day person is not the every day person as they eat as well and when people do not eat properly as nation is unproductive in all aspects as i would rather see a person spend money on a piece of food than a packet of drugs and not live on the government with bong in one hand and a government payment in the other .Poltical meats and vegetables of australia makes australia strong. Thanks

probability question...? The firm "The happy chiken" produces poultry products for the local market. the chickens are provided by 3 farms. Farm A supplies 45% of the chicken, while farms B and C provide 35% and 20% of the chiken respectively. 4% of the chicken supplied by farm A are below the standard weight while the corresponding presentages for farm B and C are 5 and 8 respectivly. if a chicken randomly selected is found to be below the standard weight, calculate the probability that this chiken was supplied by 1) farm A 2) farm B.
is Nandos(UK) haram? CONFIRMED? Assalamualaikum brother's and sisters. As we all know, Allah is most kind and most merciful. He looks at our intentions more than actions, as our rasool sallala hu alaihi wasalaam say : “Allah has overlooked my community’s mistakes, forgetfulness, and that which they were forced into.” Unintentionally eating haram, inshaAllah may be forgiven, but it has been CONFIRMED that the poultry of NANDO's is haram, and it is my duty to let my brother's and sister's of Islam know of this. Please do read on, and pass on to as many brother's and sisters possible! May Allah forgive us and guide us through the straight path, aameen! Can it be, that Freeman's, the supplier of Nando's for both halal AND non halal meat can change from halal to haram at the mere flick of a switch? I repeat Freeman's supplies Nando's and does not produce halal . Allah has commanded us to treat animals with due care and respect. The rest is now up to you! Why don't Americans know that we are the largest producer of farm products in the world? Corn: The United States is, by far, the largest producer of corn in the world. Corn is grown on over 400,000 U.S. farms. In 2000, the U.S. produced almost ten billion bushels of the world’s total 23 billion bushel crop. Corn grown for grain accounts for almost one quarter of the harvested crop acres in this country. Corn grown for silage accounts for about two percent of the total harvested cropland or about 6 million acres. The amount of land dedicated to corn silage production varies based on growing conditions. In years that produce weather unfavorable to high corn grain yields, corn can be “salvaged” by harvesting the entire plant as silage. According to the National Corn Growers Association, about eighty percent of all corn grown in the U.S. is consumed by domestic and overseas livestock, poultry, and fish production. The crop is fed as ground grain, silage, high-moisture, and high-oil corn. About 12% of the U.S. corn crop ends up in foods that are either consumed directly (e.g. corn chips) or indirectly (e.g. high fructose corn syrup). It also has a wide array of industrial uses including ethanol, a popular oxygenate in cleaner burning auto fuels. Soybeans: Approximately 2.8 billion bushels of soybeans were harvested from almost 73 million acres of cropland in the U.S. in 2000. This acreage is roughly equivalent to that of corn grown for grain. Over 350,000 farms in the United States produce soybeans, accounting for over 50% of the world’s soybean production and $6.66 billion in soybean and product exports in 2000. Soybeans represented 56 percent of world oilseed production in 2000. Soybeans are used to create a variety of products, the most basic of which are soybean oil, meal, and hulls. According to the United Soybean Board, soybean oil, used in both food manufacturing and frying and sautéing, represents approximately 79 percent of all edible oil consumed in the United States. Soybean oil also makes its way into products ranging from anti-corrosion agents to Soy Diesel fuel to waterproof cement. Over 30 million tons of soybean meal are consumed as livestock feed in a year. Even the hulls are used as a component of cattle feed rations. Hay: Hay production in the United States exceeds 150 million tons per year. Alfalfa is the primary hay crop grown in this country. U.S. hay is produced mainly for domestic consumption although there is a growing export market. According to the National Hay Association, the most common exports are timothy, some alfalfa, sudangrass, and bermudagrass hay. Hay can be packaged in bales or made into cubes or pellets. Hay crops also produce seeds that can be used for planting or as specialized grains. Wheat: Over 240,000 farms in the United States produce wheat. The U.S. produces about 13% of the world’s wheat and supplies about 25% of the world’s wheat export market. About two-thirds of total U.S. wheat production comes from the Great Plains (from Texas to Montana). Wheat is classified by time of year planted, hardness, and color (e.g. Hard Red Winter (HRW)). The characteristics of each class of wheat affect milling and baking when used in food products. Of the wheat consumed in the United States, over 70% is used for food products, about 22% is used for animal feed and residuals, and the remainder is used for seed. Cotton: Fewer than 32,000 farms in the United States produce cotton. Cotton is grown from coast-to-coast, but in only 17 southern states. Farms in those states produce over 20% of the world’s cotton with annual exports of more than $3 billion. The nation’s cotton farmers harvest about 17 million bales or 7.2 billion pounds of cotton each year. Cotton is used in a number of consumer and industrial products and is also a feed and food ingredient. Over 60% of the annual cotton crop goes into apparel, 28 percent into home furnishings, and 8 percent into industrial products each year. Cottonseed and cottonseed meal are used in feed for livestock, dairy cattle, and poultry. Cottonseed oil is also used for food products such as margarine and salad dressing. Grain sorghum: In the United States, grain sorghum is used primarily as an animal feed, but is also used in food products and as an industrial feedstock. Industrial products that utilize sorghum include wallboard and biodegradable packaging materials. Worldwide, over half of the sorghum grown is for human consumption. Some farmers grow sorghum as a hedge against drought. This water-efficient crop is more drought tolerant and requires fewer inputs than corn. Kansas, Texas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Missouri produce most of the grain sorghum grown in this country. The U.S. exports almost half of the sorghum it produces and controls 70% to 80% of world sorghum exports. As much as 12% of domestic sorghum production goes to produce ethanol and its various co-products. With demand for renewable fuel sources increasing, demand for co-products like sorghum-DDG (dry distillers grain) will increase as well due the sorghum's favorable nutrition profile. Rice: Just over 9,000 farms produce rice in the United States. Those farms are concentrated in six states: Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Texas. U.S. rice production accounts for just over 1% of the world’s total, but this country is the second leading rice exporter with 18% of the world market. About 60% of the rice consumed in the U.S. is for direct food use; another 20% goes into processed foods, and most of the rest into beer. Back Arrow
Anyone here ever tried this? I posted this before but meant to add a couple things...Just curious anyone ever incubate a bird's egg that wasn't a chicken egg or from some other poultry? I mean like a song bird's egg or a pigeon's. Just curious cause I'll probably try this sometime next Spring with a couple domestic pigeon eggs I'm getting from an owner via priority mail, did my homework so I have a rough idea of it and some supplies. No jokes or wisecracks please... Also read one person had sent a pigeon egg in the mail, turned out ok and bird's fully grown.
Will you read my short story and tell me what you think? Please be honest. If you like it, say so. If you don't, tell me why. It's as simple as that. Thanks in advance for your critiques and comments. =D Mr. Cottontail’s Chicken Run There were three days until Sunday. Peter glared at the calendar as if it had committed some horrible, unspeakable crime. Just three days. He slouched over and groaned, pulling his ears down over his eyes. Okay, so maybe putting Easter off to the last minute hadn’t been such a great idea after all. But, hey. He was only one rabbit. Did people really expect him to carry on, year after year, popping out eggs like a tennis ball machine? Well, of course they did! They took him for granted. Laying eggs was tough. Real tough. Most people just didn’t get that. People didn’t expect the Pumpkin King to do everything by himself, did they? Oh, no. The guy had ghouls and witches and various other creatures of the night to help him scare the pants off people every Halloween. And Cupid? Cupid had his handy-dandy love pixies that went around every Valentine’s Day, shooting people with toxic love arrows left and right. Santa probably had it the easiest, what with all those elves to do his dirty work. He was just the delivery boy, really, and as a reward for all the hard labor he didn’t do, he got to taste delicious desserts all around the world. And what did the elves get? Nothing, by the looks of the Big Guy’s stomach. Jolly Ol’ Saint Nick practically treated those elves like dirt. Worse than dirt, actually. He treated them like— Slaves. Peter sat up suddenly, something like a smile crossing over his furry face. Of course! Why hadn’t he thought of it before? It was a brilliant idea. Genius, really. But…no. Peter frowned. No, he wasn’t that kind of rabbit. Was he? One more glance at the calendar told him, very clearly, that, yes. Yes, he was that kind of rabbit. He started to scramble around his rabbit den for supplies. Two minutes later, he was standing at the mouth of his burrow, an empty sack thrown over his shoulder and a bunny pack, bulging with corn and several containers of Sandman’s All Natural Sleeping Dust, snapped securely around his waist. Peter took a deep breath and hopped down the hill, towards Tom’s poultry farm, nervous but more determined than he’d ever been before. He was a hare on a mission. He was ready for anything. When he finally reached his destination, Peter didn’t waste any time setting up his trap. After a few quick glances around to make sure nobody was looking, he set to work. Using his paws, he dug a hole, about as deep as he was high, near the opening of the chicken coop. After he’d finished, he disguised the gap in the earth as best he could by carefully setting down a layer of very leafy tree branches. He made sure the branches were just barely long enough to cover the hole without actually falling in. To camouflage the hole even more, he added another level of fallen leaves and clumps of grass. And, since he couldn’t leave any sort of evidence to give away his trap, he used his feet to pack down the dirt left over from digging the hole until it was a small mound on the ground. Finally, he set a pawful of corn from his pack on top of the trap and, with somewhat more enthusiasm than was necessary, dumped half a can of sleeping powder over the bait. Yeah, Peter thought, that should be enough. He ran back to the borders of the farm and waited, watching his trap anxiously from the bushes. It didn’t take very long before his first unsuspecting victim, a rather plump coffee-brown hen, wondered right into his trap. The chicken pecked at the food, seemingly finding nothing wrong with it, and then, seconds later, collapsed through the roof of the trap and into the hole, asleep. Peter burst from his hiding place with the kind of speed that would make a cheetah jealous, empty sack slung over his shoulder. He cast a quick look around to make sure no one was looking, grabbed the hen roughly by her neck, and slung her into the bag. Then he hurriedly set the trap back up and dashed back to the bushes, where he continued to play the waiting game. Soon another chicken came by and fell for his trap. Peter ran out, threw her in the pack along with the other chicken, reset the trap, and went back to waiting. He repeated this process until he had six chickens in the sack. (He had gotten a seventh hen, but she wouldn’t fit when he’d tried to cram her into the bag, so he’d tossed her back into the hole.) Exhausted, Peter returned to his burrow at sunset with a sack full of snoring chickens and an overwhelming feeling of triumph. He’d done it. He’d actually done it. A smile tugged at the corner of his lips. He’d actually gone out and gotten himself some—ahem—hard laborers, and now he’d never have to lay an egg again. Ever. No, siree. Peter could finally look at the calendar without cringing. Three days until Sunday? He emptied the sack of sleeping chickens out on to the floor of his den and rubbed his paws together. No problem, he thought. No problem at all.
is better to kill my hunger or my goal? i m hungry and i have an egg but i also have a goal related to this egg, should i boil it or fry it to kill my hunger or to become rich with the help of this egg i.e i can heat this egg from that i will have a chicken and this chicken will give thousand of eggs from these eggs thousands of chicken and from these chickens millions of eggs then i will open a poultry form, and i will supply eggs and chickens to people. tell me is better to kill my hunger or my goal.if i become rich with the second method means if i suceeded in my goal i will supply free chicken and eggs to the person who give me the best answer but now i m hungry. oh what should i do i m confused
Are you in favor of bio-fuel or oil to supply our energy demands? And why? Here are a few points to ponder: Corn prices are nearing all time highs, it's $4.00 a bushel now. And other grain prices are on their way up. Burning oil produces greenhouse gasses. Plowing a field releases greenhouse gasses from the soil. Millions of acres of land will be taken out of conservation programs and planted with grain next spring. America produces 75% of the world's corn and approx 20% will be used for ethanol production next year, up from less than 5% 3yrs ago. U.S. corn exports are down this year, mainly due to the higher prices. Poor countries cannot afford it anymore. Corn is the primary feed for U.S. pork, beef, and poultry production, so their prices will be rising also. Corn accounts for roughly half of the cost to raise an animal to market size. With increased ethanol production, everyone will be paying more for food. With higher food prices, many more people around the world will go hungry or starve to death. So, what is the solution?
Do you even know what you eat??? People don't realize what the meaning of high protein grain is or what it consists of. At any slaughter house be it meat or poultry they take the left over parts, the intestine, brains ect. along with the feces and cook it until it turns into a powder. Scientists call this high protein and they mix this with the animals grain and feed this back to the animals. This speeds up the process of groathe therefore more supply for demand.
I support Puppy Mills? Sounds kind of wierd from a guy that has a cat but I think unlike a lot of people, I'm a realist and I don't live in a fantasy world where everything goes the way I like. 1) Puppy Mills, even the deplorable conditions that we are always shown aren't any different than the way we treat poultry, pigs and a lot of other animals. Do you really think they get vet. care when they get sick? If you're going to talk about treating animals better, start with the animals we eat. They get treated far worst than most dogs or cats. 2) Blame the breeders. Why are puppies so expensives? They don't need to be. A dog has several puppies just like a cat. You can make more than enough dogs to satisfy any demand of any type. Breeders keep supply low to keep prices high. And if they say they don't make money from selling their dogs, then they're not very good business people. You want to know why you can't have the dog you want, they are the reason. 3) Don't blame the puppy mills, they are just taking advantage of the situation. Blame the people that make the price of dogs so profitable. If dogs were sold like cats, there wouldn't be puppy mills. Has anyone heard of a cat mill. The people that are making the money off these outrageously priced animals share as much blame as these business owners. 4) Do you seriously believe that every puppy mill mistreats their dogs the way it's depicted in the horror post? What seperates a breeder from a puppy mill owner. Being purebreed is an illusion. Rich people care about that. The avg. joe just wants a cute dog or a good guard dog or whatever your criteria for a dog is. So bottomline, why do I support puppy mills. Because the more that there are, the lower the price will be. When dogs are $100 or less of any species that you want, then they become pets for everyone not just for the rich. So what's the question? Why do you think all puppy mills are bad? Just because you saw a video. There are video of bad parents that abuse their kids too. Should people stop having kids. Down with expensive breeders. Up with cheap puppy mills. Who really is exploiting the dogs?
Could ethanol hurt america? The nation's demand for ethanol is not even close to its peak, and yet we are already experiences shortages in supply. This means as a nation, we will have an insatiable demand for corn. Think about how much people want gas. Should we use our food as fuel? Is the lower price of gas worth a higher price in almost all other food items. All corn products, cereal, cornbread, and tons of other food has corn as a filler. Plus lifestock and poultry are fed with corn, so meat and milk prices will go up. Not to mention other vegetables and produce due to the fact that farmers will need incentive not to switch their fields to corn. It seems that our food aid to other countries would take a dive, because after all we need to burn it. This wouldn't really help our image abroad. I'm not for oil, but our ethanol seems to have a lot of issues not discussed. Anyone heard anything about these problems, or do you think they are insignificant compared to our dependency on oil?
Chicken for dinner, anyone? My mother-in-law works at a Poultry factory, and now my husband and I have an endless supply of chicken products. She bought us breaded chicken breasts, and I was hoping someone would have some ideas of how I could make it a little more interesting. I am up for anything..
Looking for a tried and true recipe... Fresh salmon casserole, gluten free? We are going to a church potluck with approx 15 - 20 guests. The hostess is serving pork. I am supplying the pescatarian main course (no meat or poultry). I am looking for a recipe that you have tried and liked that has fresh salmon, no gluten, and possibly rice. It can have a vegetable. I would think it should serve about 10 people. This crowd is used to organic, health food cooking so it can be a little "out there" but doesn't have to be. The supper is this Friday night, Feb. 20.
Zoology... what do you think? Which would be a more energy-efficient strategy for supplying animal protein for human diets? Why? a.) Feeding people grain-fed beef raised in feed lots, or feeding people beef that has been raised in pastures. or b.) Feeding people sardines and herrings, or processing sardines and herrings into fishmeal that is subsequently used to raise poultry, which is used to feed people.
genetically modified or not? Polls have shown that most Americans want genetically modified food to be labeled, but the grocery industry worries that this might scare away customers. There is also evidence that the GM companies are manupulating scientic reports for their own ends Some facts about genetically modified food: The majority of corn and soy products are genetically modified. There are no genetically modified meat, poultry, or dairy products currently on the market. A biotech salmon is being developed but hasn't been approved yet. Genetically modified rice intended for animals has found its way into the human food supply. 1. they need lot of water for irrigation which makes it hard to be grown in areas where less water is available. 2.they absorb a lot of nutritions from the soil and makes it barren

Aren’t pork bellies the real sacred cow? Isn’t this bill one of the most short-sighted proposals drafted as of late? Prof. Peiris can easily explain to you that these types of “blanket protections” especially as they relate to food commodities are not productive but destructive. I coined a phrase for it when I was at Berkeley, and doing my year in Oakland- I called it “ghetto-side economics” R.M.C.B. Ratnayake’s views and proposals on several other agricultural/staple commodities have had the proven ill effect of driving up prices by reducing availability. Limiting supply and destroying demand by pricing the consumer out of the market. There are many better ways to ensure the increase of milk production and $13M is a negligible amount in comparison to the impending price spike of not only of beef but every other segment from eggs to poultry, from fish to muttons. I will venture to say that it also includes soap and fishnets and tourism. That is in the BILLIONS. If this is about slaughtering animals for food-I would remind you that is better than slaughtering them for naught, for that also occurs. Is killing any cow prohibited or a certain group or designation of cows? Is slaughtering of other animals prohibited such as chickens, goats, lambs, boar etc? Are you going to replace the class of cows that cannot be killed with a class that can produce beef for the domestic market? What is the plan in you suddenly have a spike in the herds or have herds that cannot be tended or managed? Why would you choose to give these protections to a cow of which there are many instead of to the leopard which truly needs a protection or set limits on wild boar whose stocks need to be monitored and at times protected and at times culled? I am sure that Chandrika and co. or Ranil and friends are in India talking about how they saved the Brahmin cow. I already heard about it at the UN event on 8/27 but was surprised to hear that this proposal was floated through the JVP for from what MIA said it was a religious promotion of the Hindu. I have also heard that it was a promotion of Buddhists. In the Caribbean 2 years ago I heard that “they” were making the country vegan. What I would like to know is who the heck are “they”? Because “they” are wrecking the equilibrium of OUR country. I understand how the cow is valuable, as it is smarter than the drafter of this proposal. Why don’t we make a seat for the garlanded cow at Parliament. We can also invite the she-dog with the silver earrings that was married off to the 3 year old boy. Mr. Ratnayake has a history of dallying into supply side economics and creating a non-feasible pricing segment by limiting availability thus extending inflation. This quite reminds me of a conversation that I had with his relative Avantha when I was about 10 years old-Avantha had just landed in the States and was in sticker shock over pricing of all goods as his thought process was based solely on currency conversion and not on supply and demand or per capita economic values. When he was expounding on the “outrageous” price of milk (the conversion rate was about 25/1 and milk was 1.25/g) I had to remind him that it was a gallon and not a liter, that with an average minimum income of $4.25/hr the real milk sold in the US was cheaper than the powder sold in Sri Lanka. When he came back to me gloating about 9 months later at the price spike of US milk and the relative decrease in price of powdered milk in Sri Lanka-I told him about the pork bellies. Later that year I met President Reagan-I believe that was when I met Benjamin Netanyahu for the first time also-We spoke about terrorism and pork bellies. If for whatever reason you want to save Brahmin cows make a bill specific to that but keep in mind that the separation of church and state can limit the areas of enforceability, if you are trying to protect the stock of dairy animals create a bill that is specific to that, if you are trying to give away a glass of milk each day to our school children, you must first make sure that it is not costing the government and society at large an equivalence greater than 15rs a glass. Saving all cows isn’t going to increase your milk production because all cows do not produce milk. It may create road congestion, unsanitary conditions and spread of disease but it will not produce more milk. Considering that the ghetto side economics of egg/poultry production has already been thoroughly explored –I do not understand why we would create a society where children have to depend on the government for a glass of real milk. We need to provide milk at a price where mom and dad can afford to serve it to the kids-for growing bodies need more than 1 glass a day. There is no issue about the goodness of government providing a glass for each child but what is wrong with this bill is that it is a religious edict encased in a social policy that has serious economic repercussions across the strata of the food cycle. I remember reading excerpts of a book called The Wheel of For my first thought when I hear that people are killing cows is... why? Do they need food? Are there too many cows roaming about? Are the cows diseased? Is it a "religious" practice? Do they like to eat beef and beef is not available? What is the answer.
Is supplying chicken meat a good business idea or does this give a poultry return for your investment? I don't want to cry fowl but I heard rumours that peple are ducking for cover in this economic lean time.

It didn’t take very long before his first unsuspecting victim, a rather plump coffee-brown hen, wondered right into his
With such strong leadership and economic guidance, could Texas secede? 1. NASA is just south of Houston, Texas. (We will control the space industry.) 2. We refine over 85% of the gasoline in the United States. 3. Defense Industry. (We have over 65% of it) The term "Don’t mess with Texas," will take on a whole new meaning. 4. Oil - we can supply all the oil that the Republic of Texas will need for the next 300 years. 5. Natural Gas - Again we have all we need and it's too bad about those northern states. 6. Computer Industry - we currently lead the nation in producing computer chips and communications: Small places like Texas Instruments, Dell Computer, EDS, Raytheon, National Semiconductor, Motorola, Intel, AMD, Atmel, Applied Materials, Ball Semiconductor, Dallas Semiconductor, Delphi, Nortel, Alcatel, Etc, Etc. The list goes on and on. 7. Health Centers - We have the largest research centers for Cancer research, the best burn centers and the top trauma units in the world and other large health planning centers. 8. We have enough colleges to keep us going: UT Texas, A&M, Texas Tech, Rice, SMU, University of Houston, Baylor, UNT, Texas Women's University, Ivy grows better in the south anyway 9. We have a ready supply of workers. (Just open the border when we need some) 10. We have control of the paper industry, plastics, insurance, etc. 11. In case of a foreign invasion, we have the Texas National Guard and the Texas Air National Guard. We don't have an army but since everybody down here has at least six rifles and a pile of ammo, we can raise an army in 24 hours if we need it. If the situation really gets bad, we can always call Department of Public Safety and ask them to send over a couple Texas Rangers. 12. We are totally self sufficient in beef, poultry, hogs and several types of grain, fruit and vegetables and lets not forget seafood from the gulf. And everybody down here knows how to cook them so that they taste good. Don't need any food. This just names a few of the items that will keep the Republic Of Texas in good shape. There isn't a thing out there that we need and don't have. Now to the rest of the United States under President Obama: Since you won't have the refineries to get gas for your cars, only Mr. Kerry will be able to drive around in his 9 mile per gallon SUV. The rest of the United States will have to walk or ride bikes. You won't have any TV as the space center in Houston will cut off your communications. You won't have any natural gas to heat your homes but since Mr. Kerry has predicted global warming, you will not need the gas. Could Rick Perry lead us into another Republic of Texas? Thanks for the comments and answers! :)
What do you think of THE COUNTRY of TEXOARKLA? JUST THE FACTS! THE COUNTRY of TEXOARKLA In case things get a little tougher during the next few months, we In LOUISIANA, TEXAS , OKLAHOMA & ARKANSAS have a plan. Maybe you don't know it, but LOUISIANA , TEXAS , OKLAHOMA & ARKANSAS have a legal right to secede from the Union . (Reference the Texas/Louisiana-American Annexation Treaty of 1848.) Us TEXOARKLANS love y'all Americans, but we'll probably have to take action since Barack Obama won the election and is now the President of the U.S.A. We'll miss ya'll though. Here is what can happen: 1. Barack Hussein Obama, after becoming the President of the United States , begins to try and create a socialist country, then TEXAS , LOUISIANA , ARKANSAS and OKLAHOMA announces that they are going to secede from the Union . 2. George W. Bush becomes the President of the Republic of TEXOARKLA . You might think that he doesn't talk too pretty, but we haven't had another terrorist attack and the economy was fine until the effects of Barney Frank and the Democrats lowering the qualifications for home loans came home to roost. So what does TEXOARKLA have to do to survive as a Republic? 1. NASA is just south of Houston , Texas . We wil l control the space industry. 2. We refine over 90% of the gasoline in the United States . 3. Defense Industry--we have over 65% of it. The term "Don't mess with TEXAS ," will take on a whole new meaning. 4. Oil - we can supply all the oil that the Republic of TEXOARKLA will need for the next 300 years. What will the other states do? Gee, we don't know. Why not ask Obama? 5. Natural Gas - again, we have all we need and it's too bad about those Northern States. John Kerry and AlGore will just have to figure out a way to keep them warm... 6. Computer Industry - we lead the nation in producing computer chips and communications equipment - small companies like Texas Instruments, Dell Computer, EDS, Raytheon, National Semiconductor, Motorola, Intel, AMD, Nortel, Alcatel, etc. The list goes on and on. 7. Medical Care - We have the research centers for cancer research, the best burn centers and the top trauma units in the world, as well as other large health centers. 8. We have enough colleges to keep educating and making smarter citizens: University of Texas , Texas A&M, Texas Tech, University of Oklahoma , Oklahoma State University, UL-Lafayette, UL-Monroe, University of Arkansas , LSU, Arkansas State University , Baylor, Rice, TCU, SMU and MANY more. 9. We have an intelligent and energetic work force and it isn't restricted by a bunch of unions. Here in TEXOARKLA, we are a Right-to-Work State and, therefore, it's every man and woman for themselves. We just go out and get the job done.. And if we don't like the way one company operates, we get a job somewhere else. 10. We have essential control of the paper, plastics, and insurance industries, etc. 11. In case of a foreign invasion, we have the TEXOARKLA National Guard, the TEXOARKLA Air National Guard, and several military bases. We don't have an Army, but since everybody down here has at least six guns and a pile of ammo, we can raise an Army in 24 hours if we need one. If the situation really gets bad, we can always call the Department of Public Safety and ask them to send over the Texas Rangers. 12. We are totally self-sufficient in beef, poultry, hogs, and several types of grain, fruit and vegetables and let's not forget seafood from the Gulf. Also, everybody down here knows how to cook them so that they taste good. We don't need any food from somewhere else. 13. FIVE of the ten largest cities in the United States and THIRTY TWO of the 100 largest cities in the United States are located in TEXOARKLA. And TEXOARKLA also has more land than California , New York , New Jersey , Connecticut , Delaware , Hawaii , Massachusetts , Maryland , Rhode Island and Vermont combined. 14. Trade: FIVE of the ten largest ports in the United States are located in TEXOARKLA. 15. We also manufacture cars down here, but we don't need to. You see, nothing rusts in TEXOARKLA so our vehicles stay beautiful and run well for decades. This just names a few of the items that will keep the Republic of TEXOARKLA in good shape. There isn't a thing out there that we need and don't have. Now to the rest of you folks in the United States under President Obama: Since you won't have the refineries to get gas for your cars, only President Obama will be able to drive around in his big 9 mpg SUV. The rest of the United States will have to walk or ride bikes. You won't have any TV as the Space Center in H Prince of Mad: A Presidential Proclamation does not supercede a treaty but I like your intelectual approach. Great to have a real thinker answer my question. Thanks Another bennefit; We can finally build the wall between TEXOARKLA and Mexico and deport “Illegal Aliens” and say the hell with the EPA and build the lock and damn system in New Orleans that will keep the water out.
I need a three page paper by noon! I know this is wrong, but he just assigned this, and I HAVE TO PASS!!!? FINAL SPECIFICATION PAPER Students will be responsible for writing a 3 page (12pt font, 1” margins, Times New Roman, full sentences/full pages) research paper due at the end of class. The topic will cover the process for thoroughly evaluating a possible vendor (Sysco) for an imaginary restaurant. The restaurant must be a full service casual dining establishment that requires the vendor supply a one stop shopping method of ordering. Paper must include start to finish evaluations and criteria for the vendor. Tell me why you would use Sysco or not. Include sample specifications for 1 of each of the following: bread (ex: loaves, muffins, rolls), cheese product (ex:shredded cheese, wheels of cheese, blocks) fish/seafood (ex: filets, steaks, whole, canned crab, live lobster), poultry (ex: whole chickens, chicken wings, duck liver, smoked quail), beef (ex: PSMO, steaks, ground beef, sub-primals) and a convenience prepared dessert (pre-made cakes, pies, ice creams, custards, muffins, pastries, candies, cookies). Be creative. Pretend you have a recipe that needs these items and write the specification as if you were going to order the ingredient this way. Paper must cover also any special circumstances or delivery methods that would need to be accommodated for such as online versus phone ordering and delivery times and available days. Paper will be graded equally for content, examples, format (MLA) and grammar/spelling. Sources used to gain data for specifications need to be cited. NONE OF YOU WORK FOR SYSCO! YOUR SOURCES PROVIDED THE INFO. FAILURE TO CITE RESULTS IN FAILURE OF CLASS. I can't afford to pay for it!
Is the Federal Reserve a private bank? The following is a conversation with Mr. Ron Supinski of the Public Information Department of the San Francisco, Federal Reserve Bank. This is an account of that conversation reconstructed to the best of my ability from notes taken during the conversation on October 8, 1992. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CALLER - Mr. Supinski, does my country own the Federal Reserve System? MR. SUPINSKI - We are an agency of the government. CALLER - That's not my question. Is it owned by my country? MR. SUPINSKI - It is an agency of the government created by congress. CALLER - Is the Federal Reserve a Corporation? MR. SUPINSKI - Yes CALLER - Does my government own any of the stock in the Federal Reserve? MR. SUPINSKI - No, it is owned by the member banks. CALLER - Are the member banks private corporations? MR. SUPINSKI - Yes CALLER - Are Federal Reserve Notes backed by anything? MR. SUPINSKI -Yes, by the assets of the Federal Reserve but, primarily by the power of congress to lay tax on the people. CALLER - Did you say, by the power to collect taxes is what backs Federal Reserve Notes? MR. SUPINSKI - Yes CALLER - What are the total assets of the Federal Reserve? MR. SUPINSKI - The San Francisco Bank has $36 Billion in assets. CALLER - What are these assets comprised of? MR. SUPINSKI - Gold, the Federal Reserve Bank itself and government securities. CALLER - What value does the Federal Reserve Bank carry gold per oz. on their books? MR. SUPINSKI - I don't have that information but the San Francisco Bank has $1.6 billion in gold. CALLER - Are you saying the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco has $1.6 billion in gold, the bank itself and the balance of the assets is government securities? MR. SUPINSKI - Yes. CALLER - Where does the Federal Reserve get Federal Reserve Notes from? MR. SUPINSKI - They are authorized by the Treasury. CALLER - How much does the Federal Reserve pay for a $10 Federal Reserve Note? MR. SUPINSKI - Fifty to seventy cents. CALLER - How much do they pay for a $100.00 Federal Reserve Note? MR. SUPINSKI - The same fifty to seventy cents. CALLER - To pay only fifty cents for a $100.00 is a tremendous gain, isn't it? MR. SUPINSKI - Yes CALLER - According to the U.S. Treasury, the Federal Reserve pays $20.60 per 1,000 denomination or a little over two cents for a $100.00 bill, is that correct? MR. SUPINSKI - That is probably close. CALLER - Doesn't the Federal Reserve use the Federal Reserve Notes that cost about two cents each to purchase U.S. Bonds from the government? MR. SUPINSKI - Yes, but there is more to it than that. CALLER - Basically, that is what happens? MR. SUPINSKI - Yes, basically you are correct. CALLER - How many Federal Reserve Notes are in circulation? MR. SUPINSKI - $263 billion and we can only account for a small percentage. CALLER - Where did they go? MR. SUPINSKI - Peoples mattress, buried in their back yards and illegal drug money. CALLER - Since the debt is payable in Federal Reserve Notes, how can the $4 trillion national debt be paid-off with the total Federal Reserve Notes in circulation? MR. SUPINSKI - I don't know. CALLER - If the Federal Government would collect every Federal Reserve Note in circulation would it be mathematically possible to pay the $4 trillion national debt? MR. SUPINSKI - No CALLER - Am I correct when I say, $1 deposited in a member bank $8 can be lent out through Fractional Reserve Policy? MR. SUPINSKI - About $7. CALLER - Correct me if I am wrong but, $7 of additional Federal Reserve Notes were never put in circulation. But, for lack of better words were "created out of thin air " in the form of credits and the two cents per denomination were not paid either. In other words, the Federal Reserve Notes were not physically printed but, in reality were created by a journal entry and lent at interest. Is that correct? MR. SUPINSKI - Yes CALLER - Is that the reason there are only $263 billion Federal Reserve Notes in circulation? MR. SUPINSKI - That is part of the reason. CALLER - Am I mistaking that when the Federal Reserve Act was passed (on Christmas Eve) in 1913, it transferred the power to coin and issue our nations money and to regulate the value thereof from Congress to a Private corporation. And my country now borrows what should be our own money from the Federal Reserve (a private corporation) plus interest. Is that correct and the debt can never be paid off under the current money system of country? MR. SUPINSKI - Basically, yes. CALLER - I smell a rat, do you? MR. SUPINSKI - I am sorry, I can't answer that, I work here. CALLER - Has the Federal Reserve ever been independently audited? MR. SUPINSKI - We are audited. CALLER - Why is there a current House Resolution 1486 calling for a complete audit of the Federal Reserve by the G.A.O. and why is the Federal Reserve resisting? MR. SUPINSKI - I don't know. CALLER - Does the Federal Reserve regulate the value of Federal Reserve Notes and interest rates? MR. SUPINSKI - Yes CALLER - Explain how the Federal Reserve System can be Constitutional if, only the Congress of the U.S., which comprises of the Senate and the House of Representatives has the power to coin and issue our money supply and regulate the value thereof? [Article 1 Section 1 and Section 8] Nowhere, in the Constitution does it give Congress the power or authority to transfer any powers granted under the Constitution to a private corporation or, does it? MR. SUPINSKI - I am not an expert on constitutional law. I can refer you to our legal department. CALLER - I can tell you I have read the Constitution. It does NOT provide that any power granted can be transferred to a private corporation. Doesn't it specifically state, all other powers not granted are reserved to the States and to the citizens? Does that mean to a private corporation? MR. SUPINSKI - I don't think so, but we were created by Congress. CALLER - Would you agree it is our country and it should be our money as provided by our Constitution? MR. SUPINSKI - I understand what you are saying. CALLER - Why should we borrow our own money from a private consortium of bankers? Isn't this why we had a revolution, created a separate sovereign nation and a Bill of Rights? MR. SUPINSKI - (Declined to answer). CALLER - Has the Federal Reserve ever been declared constitutional by the Supreme Court? MR. SUPINSKI - I believe there has been court cases on the matter. CALLER - Have they been Supreme Court Cases? MR. SUPINSKI - I think so, but I am not sure. CALLER - Didn't the Supreme Court declare unanimously in A.L.A. Schechter Poultry Corp. vs. U.S. and Carter vs. Carter Coal Co. the corporative-state arrangement an unconstitutional delegation of legislative power? ["The power conferred is the power to regulate. This is legislative delegation in its most obnoxious form; for it is not even delegation to an official or an official body, presumptively disinterested, but to private persons." Carter vs. Carter Coal Co.] MR. SUPINSKI - I don't know, I can refer you to our legal department. CALLER - Isn't the current money system a house of cards that must fall because, the debt can mathematically never be paid-off? MR. SUPINSKI - It appears that way. I can tell you have been looking into this matter and are very knowledgeable. However, we do have a solution. CALLER - What is the solution? MR. SUPINSKI - The Debit Card. CALLER - Do you mean under the E.F.T. Act (Electronic Funds Transfer)? Isn't that very frightening, when one considers the capabilities of computers? It would provide the government and all it's agencies, including the Federal Reserve such information as: You went to the gas station @ 2:30 and bought $10.00 of unleaded gas @ $1.41 per gallon and then you went to the grocery store @ 2:58 and bought bread, lunch meat and milk for $12.32 and then went to the drug store @ 3:30 and bought cold medicine for $5.62. In other words, they would know where we go, when we went, how much we paid, how much the merchant paid and how much profit he made. Under the E.F.T. they will literally know everything about us. Isn't that kind of scary? MR. SUPINSKI - Yes, it makes you wonder. CALLER - I smell a GIANT RAT that has overthrown my constitution. Aren't we paying tribute in the form of income taxes to a consortium of private bankers? MR. SUPINSKI - I can't call it tribute, it is interest. CALLER - Haven't all elected officials taken an oath of office to preserve and defend the Constitution from enemies both foreign and domestic? Isn't the Federal Reserve a domestic enemy? MR. SUPINSKI - I can't say that. CALLER - Our elected officials and members of the Federal Reserve are guilty of aiding and abetting the overthrowing of my Constitution and that is treason. Isn't the punishment of treason death? MR. SUPINSKI - I believe so. CALLER - Thank you for your time and information and if I may say so, I think you should take the necessary steps to protect you and your family and withdraw your money from the banks before the collapse, I am. MR. SUPINSKI - It doesn't look good. CALLER - May God have mercy on the souls who are behind this unconstitutional and criminal act called the Federal Reserve. When the ALMIGHTY MASS awakens to this giant hoax, they will not take it with a grain of salt. It has been a pleasure talking to you and I thank you for your time. I hope you will take my advice before it does collapse. MR. SUPINSKI - Unfortunately, it does not look good. CALLER - Have a good day and thanks for your time. MR. SUPINSKI - Thanks for calling.
Proof your government is corrupt? MR. My theory - did pharmaceutical co Hoffmann-La Roche manufacture swine flu so they can sell Tamiflu considering? considering a) it is an artificially created strain that includes swine gene from N America, swine gene from Europe/Asia, bird gene and human gene which according to the CDC doesn't combine unless artificially in a lab. Also: "In a recent meeting of regional health ministers, Dr. Francisco J. Duque III, Secretary of the Philippines Department of Health, accused Roche of "monopolizing" the production and distribution of the drug known as Oseltamivir (brand name Tamiflu). Oseltamivir is considered to be the primary antiviral drug used to combat avian influenza, commonly known as the bird flu. Roche is the only drug company authorized to manufacture the drug, which was discovered by Gilead Sciences. Roche purchased the rights to the drug in 1996 and in 2005 settled a royalty dispute, agreeing to pay Gilead tiered royalties of 14-22% of annual net sales.[10] The Philippine health secretary complained that the supply of the said drug is only concentrated in First World countries even if the disease is ravaging bird and poultry populations in Southeast Asia as of this time." I obviously don't have evidence, I'm just wondering so calm down. Well maybe the Rear Admiral testifying to congress which I'm watching on C-Span lied then? I'd rather believe that source than your opinions that it is a mutation.
So, what do you think about...? Natural Balance dog food? I want to feed my dog's a healthy food. In the past, I have been saying Beneful, but I realized I was talking about the wrong brand. I meant to say Natural Balance. A couple of things about the type of food I'm looking for: Above all, we are looking for an economical food. That is one of the reasons we have been switching on and off food brands, generic, brand name, etc. Bad, I know, but that's the way it was since we weren't really looking into the nutrition of the foods. So economical, and healthy is a key. We have gone through trying a lot of different types of food with our pups. The youngest is a 4 month old Boxer baby girl. Bailey will eat whatever type of food we give her. She is currently munching on a pork chop. Raw, of course. The oldest is our year old labbie. Ginger is actually rather picky about what type of kibble and wet food she eats. She really does not like Alpo, Iams, and is currently growing more despondent with the Purina. We recently bought a different type of food at Vons. This one is Priority Total Pet Care. In case you don't know what this contains, the first five ingredients are: Sufficient water for processing Meat By-Products Poultry By-Products Chicken Beef Yes, I know that is horrible. However, this has been the first dog food that Ginger has actually eaten without picking at it. Now, getting my story back to the Natural Balance, we buy the dog food rolls, which we then cut into pieces and then use to treat, or even as a little special snack for them. On top of their love for it, it seems to be very healthy for them. First two ingredients in the Lamb Roll, is 1. Lamb, 2. Lamb lungs. So, what do you think about the Natural Balance as a staple food supply for them. I don't want people to rag on my not having a raw diet for them. I don't want people to say that Natural Balance is like fast food, and horrible. I want facts, experiences, something on which I can actually rely. No ragging, no insulting, no stupid comments. So if you have any suggestions, the floor is yours. Uh, I would just like to add, if you possibly can, please tell me the reason why you think one brand is better than another. I don't want lists, but would appreciate WHY it's better.
THE COUNTRY of TEXAS?...........? Please note that Texas is the only state with a legal right to secede from the Union. (Reference the Texas-American Annexation Treaty of 1848.) We Texans love y'all but we'll probably have to take action since Barack Obama won the election. We'll miss you too. Here is what can happen: 1: Barack Hussein Obama becomes President of the United States and Texas immediately secedes from the Union. 2: George W. Bush will become the President of the Republic of Texas. You might not think that he talks too pretty but we haven't had another terrorist attack and the economy was fine until the effects of the Democrats lowering the qualifications for home loans came to roost. So what does Texas have to do to survive as a Republic? 1. NASA is just south of Houston, Texas. We will control the space industry. 2. We refine over 85% of the gasoline in the United States. 3. Defense Industry--we have over 65% of it. The term "Don't mess with Texas" will take on a whole new meaning. 4. Oil - we can supply all the oil that the Republic of Texas will need for the next 300 years. What will the other states do? Gee, we don't know. Why not ask Obama? 5. Natural Gas - again we have all we need and it's too bad about those Northern States. John Kerry and Al Gore will have to figure out a way to keep them warm.... 6. Computer Industry - we lead the nation in producing computer chips and communications equipment -small companies like Texas Instruments, Dell Computer, EDS, Raytheon, National Semiconductor, Motorola Intel, AMD, Atmel, Applied Materials Ball, Miconductor, Dallas Semiconductor Nortel, Alcatel, etc etc. The list goes on and on. 7. Medical Care - We have the research centers for cancer research, the best burn centers and the top trauma units in the world as well as other large health centers. The Houston Medical Center alone employs over 65000 people. 8. We have enough colleges to keep us getting smarter: University of Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Texas Christian, Rice, SMU, University of Dallas, University of Houston, Baylor, UNT (University of North Texas), Texas Women's University, etc. Ivy grows better in the South anyway. 9. We have an intelligent and energetic work force and it isn't restricted by a bunch of unions. Here in Texas it's a Right to Work State and, therefore, it's every man and women for themselves. We just go out and get the job done. And if we don't like the way one company operates we get a job somewhere else. 10. We have essential control of the paper, plastics, and insurance Industries etc. 11. In case of a foreign invasion we have the Texas National Guard, the Texas Air National Guard and several military bases. We don't have an Army but since everybody down here has at least six rifles and a pile of ammo, we can raise an Army in 24 hours if we need one. If the situation really gets bad, we can always call the Department of Public Safety and ask them to send over the Texas Rangers. 12. We are totally self-sufficient in beef, poultry, hogs and several types of grain, fruit and vegetables, and let's not forget seafood from the Gulf. Also everybody down here knows how to cook them so that they taste good. Don't need any food. 13. Three of the ten largest cities in the United States and twenty-three of the 100 largest cities in the United States are located in Texas. And Texas also has more land than California, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Maryland, Rhode Island and Vermont combined. 14. Trade: Three of the ten largest ports in the United States are located in Texas. 5. We also manufacture cars down here but we don't need to. You see nothing rusts in Texas, so our vehicles stay beautiful and run well for decades. This just names a few of the items that will keep the Republic of Texas in good shape. There isn't a thing out there that we need and don't have. Now to the rest of the United States under President Obama: Since you won't have the refineries to get gas for your cars, only President Obama will be able to drive around in his big 9 mpg SUV. The rest of the United States will have to walk or ride bikes. You won't have any TV as the Space Center in Houston will cut off satellite communications. You won't have any natural gas to heat your homes but since Mr. Obama has predicted global warming you will not need the gas as long as you survive the 2000 years it will take to get enough heat from Global Warming. So in other words go screw yourselves. Oh that's right. You already have! Signed The People of Texas P.S. This is not a threatening letter - just a note to give you something to think about! SLEEP WELL TONIGHT THE EYES OF TEXAS ARE UPON YOU i hope to see a LOT of fellow texan support here! nodumgys, that is for the yanks that dont know any better. lol
Anyone know of a poultry breeder/supplier in Lincolnshire? I found several that supply chickens but I'm looking for a duck. A Pekin specifically. Can anyone help? *lots of kisses*
