Poultry Connection Knowledge Base
Is there a connection between headaches and protein deficiancy? My daughter gets lots of migraines, and we have tried many remedies with limited success. She is a vegetarian, so no meat, fish, or poultry. She eats some eggs, very little dairy, no peanut butter and isn't really "into" beans, so I know she doesn't get enough protein. Could this be causing her headaches?

Electrical switch, I am having trouble with an outdoor electrical switch. Its a Tronic H-3138 1 gang, 2 way.? It is to be fed from a fused plug and is to power a small poultry electric fence with very little power usage (so although I'm not a sparky it will be safe). I have a live and neutral in and out and am struggling! It has a 'live feed' connection (where I am feeding the live from the power source to) a switched live connection (where I am putting the 'live out' to the fence unit) but with only one neutral connection I cannot get the switch to work. If I put both neutrals together the switch feeds power in one position, but blows the fuse in the other - if I use either of the neutrals on their own - no power. Either I have an odd switch that is no good for this situation, or it should just be a case of getting them in the right places and all will be ok. I do have a modern fuseboard with breaker and I've fused the feed to the switch deliberately, the switch is waterproof it is in a protected position and away from the house - please help if you can. The switch is a Tronic H-3138:IP66 1 Gang 2 way. Thanks.
How can anyone not believe in Christianity when it's the one religion that makes perfect sense? Ok, in the beginning, we were supposed to eat herbs, but Adam and Eve sinned and so on, and then at some point, we were allowed to eat meat but only meats of animals that eat herbs (cattle, lamb, etc), poultry and fish. And they still remain to be the healthiest, ask any bros from the MISC forum :p We are not allowed to eat pork, because pigs are naturally scavengers, God actually protects our body from disease and fat :p Now onto sex: Why God forbid homosexuality? Because they wouldn't be able to conceive. Why homosexuality exists? Because we live in a cursed world. It seemed that God gave our imperfections randomly, or based on what our parents did/have, and their faith. Why God forbid pre-marital sex? You wouldn't be able to enjoy sex as much when you are married 'cause you already experienced it. Sex isn't about only about physical pleasure, but also emotional connection, bonding and pro-creation. God made us sexual beings to create life. That created life would be in suffering if one parent commits adultery/fornication. By being married, it becomes our duty to care for the children. Why God forbid lust? So you wouldn't look at another woman when you are already married. Onto EVOLUTION and SCIENCE: God gave us free will to be open-minded and it's good that science provide us explanations to what the logical mind can comprehend. However, why believe in evolution when it's only a theory of Darwin? True, scientists and archeologists backed it up, but aren't we susceptible to lie? For money? For fame? Even Einstein believed in God. Science can only explain what man learns, but the world, up to this day, is still mysterious. When Adam and Eve sinned, the world was cursed. Ever wonder why we die and bad things happen to good people? The world is cursed. The penalty for our sin is death. How does Jesus save us from the sin? By being born to a virgin. Basically, Mary became a vessel for God. By not being conceived to a man and woman, Jesus did not inherit the capability to do sins. All of us is capable to sin because we are all descended from Adam. Jesus wasn't. By believing in him, we are given chance to be saved. When a person dies, he/she won't have any consciousness until the judgement day comes. There's more to it, just be open-minded and read the Bible even if you are atheist, everything in it actually makes perfect sense. I'm from a Catholic background myself, but I do think that the Catholic church is corrupted, I could go on and talk about why priests should be married, that Islam could be created by Satan (seriously, why follow a prophet who encouraged rape, pillage and murder? *cough* Muhammad *cough*), and other things, but that would be overkill... TLTR: PLEASE READ everything above, I've taken a logical point of view of Christianity, not blinded faith. Heck, I didn't even quote any Bible verses :p I'll take any criticisms considerately, I was actually agnostic since last week 'til I become open-minded and learned about Christianity. But my knowledge of it isn't mature enough., PS: I'm an IT student :p And sorry for my English, I'm not a native speaker, but as long as you get the context of what I was writing, hope you understand what my point is. Pork isn't ok to eat, it wasn't said on NT. Christianity has become a religion of convenience, but only because you let it be. Basically, you haven't read about the one when God showed up to Paul in a vision, God didn't mean that Paul should eat unclean meats. The vision was an analogy that he should treat Gentiles the same way as he treated Jews. You haven't got it in the right context, Inigo. And pork makes you fat, go figure. WHY POST TOO FAST? Because you haven't read everything I wrote, and it isn't about making you believe in Christianity, it's about being open-minded. Whatev's, I'll just leave this for future reference. Don't you people ever wonder about death? Science cannot fully explain it. I'll play PS3 now :p Yeah, like I said, my understanding of Christianity isn't fully mature, thanks for the criticisms.
Vegetarians, any tips? I'm a 15 year old girl. After seeing food Inc and the moral issues involved with eating meat, i'm thinking of making a serious change in my diet. I was watching this show on t.v and these vegans kept talking about "dead animal flesh" and now every time I eat meat I feel gross and nauseas. I'm also an animal lover too, and I guess i never really made the connection between cows and the meat on my plate (I obviously knew where that meat comes from animals, but it didn't really register with me that they were being slaughtered by the thousands and abused) I don't really like red meat, I can definitely do without and I find steak gross, but I really enjoy chicken turkey and fish. I'm already a huge fan of veggies and I was wondering, should I take maybe a 30 day trial without meat to see if I like it or slowly work my way into it, eliminating all red meat then poultry and fish. Can anyone give me some good tips, and tell me your experience with being a vegetarian? Also, any good food ideas? I already know about the beans, tofu, nuts and legumes (most of which I already eat) I'm not just basing it off of a "movie". This movie exposed the horrors of the food industry and what they do to animals.
Why does animal abuse seem like a culturally appropriate act in Bangladesh? What is your opinion? How do we act on this? I asked a Bangladeshi friend this question and this is what he said: General Causes: · The first causes due to the harm occurred by dog. · Most of the time the dogs of my village destroy the food or stole the home foods. · They often left beast in the people’s house and make dirty. Actually most of the dogs have no owner. They have no place prepared by human. · For this why they live to the people’s house, in the night, which people dislike. · You know that almost every house there are some domestic poultry animal cared. Even in our house my mother has 18 hen 2 cock and a duck. There are 70 families in my village. And more than 60 families have some hens, cock, and duck. The ownerless dogs stole the foods of the animals. You have to know that all of the pet animals is opened in the village. · I don’t know that’ the dogs make the hens, ducks, and cocks to run. And without any reason they bite the pet animals. Every day 2-5 times some dogs specially a male giant dog make run towards my mother’s hens. Even I became angry to the dogs. · You know kids in Bangladesh move in the village alone. They bought food from the ferry man. And eat in the road then dog come and jump over kids and bite in their hand. · You may astonish and logics that, dog never bite man unless being beaten. But Sister you have to understand that the behavior of pet and wild is not same. · All the people know about Rabies that is spread through dog. That’s why they wanted to stay far from dogs. Psychological causes: The most funny but absolute cause is that the dog beating sometime considered as the enjoyment. · Suppose one boy is playing with a piece of stone. If he sees a dog, he will through the stone to the dog without any cause. It is due to bad mentality towards dog. · Dog considered as abuses. Like nonsense, child of dog, mother fucker, dog. So you may imagine dog is considered as harmful and nasty animals. · To prepare this causes I interviewed many people “why they beat dog? One women told me “Whom we will beat dogs or human?” (In sense it is natural and duty to beat dog.) Some Suggestions to prevent dog beating (From the Bangladeshi perspective) · Encourage the people to take dog as pet. · Ensure the Rabies vaccination to dogs. · Inform people about the necessity or advantages to have a dog. · Inform how to care to a dog. · Safe way to rearing a dog. · Inform about where the animal hospitals located and about their function. Actually 90% people don’t know about the existence of animal hospitals. · Provide some bangle books about dog rearing. · Making connection to the animal hospitals or doctors and the people. Because the general people afraid to the bureaucratic or complex process of the governmental hospitals.
Federal Grand Juries are begining to convict those who aid and harbor illegal aliens. Is this a good thing? According to the article, she was convicted in a jury trial and can get 10 years in federal prison without possibility of parole. Is this a step in the right direction? A federal jury has convicted a Monett woman for harboring and hiring illegal immigrants employed at a Barry County poultry processing plant raided by federal authorities last May. Jurors on Jan. 15 found Dora Ruiz, 33, guilty of harboring an illegal alien and inducing an illegal alien to enter or reside in the United States, according to a U.S. Attorney’s Office news release. Ruiz formerly worked in the human resources department at George’s Processing Inc. plant in Butterfield, north of Cassville. George’s is based in Springdale, Ark. On May 22, about 100 officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Social Security Administration Office of Inspector General, U.S. Marshals Service and the Missouri Highway Patrol served search warrants at the plant in connection with an investigation into alleged identity fraud and employment of illegal immigrants. Officers arrested 136 people believed to be in the country illegally; 28 were later criminally charged with immigration and identity theft offenses. Evidence at the trial indicated that Ruiz assisted George’s employees by completing their Employment Eligibility Verification I-9 forms and translating from English to Spanish. Prosecutors said that Ruiz knew many employees were illegal immigrants who used fraudulently obtained Social Security numbers and identity documents in order to get jobs at the plant. Another former George’s HR employee – 23-year-old Sinthia Valadez-Ramirez – also pleaded guilty Jan. 8 to aiding and abetting others to commit aggravated identity theft, according to the release. “These convictions mark an important development in our continued commitment to pursuing employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens,” John Wood, U.S. attorney for the Western District of Missouri, said in the release. Under federal statutes, Ruiz faces a sentence of up to 10 years in federal prison without parole. http://www.sbj.net/article.asp?aID=11569519.5120355.1041131.4577099.775411.795&aID2=80078 I can already tell I'm going to have a very difficult time picking a best answer. There are just so many good ones here.
