Chook Me!

Ceramic Roosters Knowledge Base

I am looking to locate the company that makes ceramic roosters.? I was at universal studios, and in the gift shop outside the twister stage experience, they had these ceramic roosters dressed in all differant apparel. i looked to see who made them, but soon after i forgot. If anyone klnows what company produces these, it would be helpful.
Do you know where to find a flat ceramic rooster insert to use as part of a mosaic? The ceramic insert would be placed towards the bottom of the base with smalti tiles surrounding the ceramic insert.
How many identical decors should be in the kitchen? So we have some decorative ceramic roosters (look like this: http://italianpottery.secure-mall.com/shop/images/c1205.jpg) and I was wondering how many to put in the kitchen?
Did Louis Comfort Tiffany produce any ceramic items, like dinner plates that have a transfer printed rooster? I've come across some dessert plates that have a crowing rooster[red, yellow, and brown], atop somthing like a weather-vane. The info on the bottom is vague, although I have been able to make out the number 1881 and Louis C Tiffany. The info was inscribed and than glazed over. Could it be an original? The plate is crazed quite a bit so the age would probably be true as made around 1881.
French Country/French bedspread? I'm trying to find a few options for a French themed bedroom I'm making over and am having a hard time finding bedding - I've seen all the toile options possible, but i'm looking for one that's a bit more rustic looking with deep reds and yellows, or reds blues and yellows, i saw one that has a rooster on it, but that may be a bit too country, but something along those lines - does anyone know of any sites that may have something like that, or that specialize in French bedding specifically? Here is a link ( and yes I realize it's pottery/dishes I'm linking) but the color combinations and look are pretty much what I have in mind, if that helps describe what I'm looking for: http://www.derutaitaly.com/ceramics/detail.asp?itemID=1304&pageNum=2&pictureid=D3 Thank you for your help!
WANTED - Antique ceramic Rooster salt and pepper shaker - OUT it's BUM!!!? Hi everyone, I'm trying to find a ceramic rooster salt and pepper shaker that belonged to my grand mother. My grand father brought it home one day many years ago because he was a Sydney Roosters supporter, but my grand mother thought it was disgusting and put it on top of her kitchen cupboards. he died not long after that and so she kept it because it reminded her of his funny side! I had always loved it as a kid but before I could claim it after she died, my father sold it and a bunch of other stuff onto an antiques dealer and I've been trying to find it (or one that looks like it) ever since. As you can imagine it is of HUGE sentimental value!!! I've had one antiques dealer tell me it may be a "grotesque" antique and not of any real value but to me it is priceless as it reminds me of grand mother... If anyone has any information on where I can get one or who originally made these, I would be extremely greatful. I have searched just about every antiques dealer I can find from sydney to the southern highlands over the last 5 years with no luck at all. It was about 30cm's tall and was painted but the paint was sort of fading a bit, the most unique thing about it was the salt or pepper came out its bum!
