Can I make this casserole in a cake pan? So I have a recipe for a cheesy chicken casserole that I want to halve. It calls for 4 chicken breasts but I want to make it with just 2 and half everything else. I have a big glass casserole dish that I would've used to make 4 breasts but it will seem silly to make only 2 in that big dish. Can I use a cake pan to make the casserole (2 chicken breasts with rice and frozen veggies) or will it not work? I don't really have anything else to make it in. What sauce would you serve with this chicken? It's a chicken breast covered that's first dipped in garlic butter and then covered in dry, pulverized stovetop stuffing mix, and then baked. It should come out crispy and flavorful, but I want a sauce to go with it. It's just a thing with me. I love chicken nuggets, but it's nothing without something to dip it in. I'm also serving cheesy potato casserole and salad with this. What sauce would YOU like with this chicken?
What can I use instead of frozen mixed vegetables? I'm trying to make the recipe on the back of the Campbell's Cream of Chicken soup can, cheesy chicken and Rice casserole, but I don't have any frozen mixed vegetables to put into it, and I don't have the time or money to go to the store to buy some. So, what can I use instead, or can I just not put the vegetables in and serve fresh veggies on the side?

Any casserole recipes like Stouffer's Chicken and Veggie Bake? I'm thinking about making a casserole in a couple days, with chicken, brocolli, carrots, rice and cheese. I'm hoping to come up with something with a similar taste and texture as Stouffer's "Grandma's Chicken and Vegetable Bake," but with fresher ingredients. Anyone have advice for a good recipe to mimic this dinner? Right now I'm thinking to cook and dice the veggies and chicken, mix in with cooked (basmati) rice, mix with some sauce/mix/cheese/etc (where I need the most help,) and topping it all with crumbled up stove-top stuffing. How do I make the saucey cheesy mixture, and how long should I cook the casserole? I generally never use mayo, ranch, or sour cream, but I might make an exception if the ingredient will texturize without being tasted in the casserole. I'm planning to use cheddar cheese (grated,) but I also have velveeta, mozarella, and a few other cheeses, if they might work better. Someone give me a good recipe for all of these ingredients. Onion and spice are ok, btw
what is a good cheese to cook with? (melting it?)? I like to make mac and cheese by simply taking hunks of velveeta and melting it onto cooked noodles. while that is very yummy, velveeta is very sticky in gluey, not just in your mouth, but in the pan and basically any other container. I would like to experiment with my own recipe for a broccoli rice chicken cheesy casserole, but the cheese I am used to using is that velveeta, and I havent yet tested it in an oven baked dish. so, what would you/do you use? thanx in advance! (:
What is a suitable side dish for a casserole? I am fixing a casserole tonight. I love casseroles but one problem I always have is aside from some fresh green beans or home made bread I cant really figure out a good side dish to go with a casserole. Im sure alot of people dont worry about a side when it comes to a casserole meal but I like many different things when I eat. Plus I love to cook so this gives me an excuse to spend just a little more time in the kitchen. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. The casserole I am making is a cheesy-chicken-noodle type of thing by the way. Thanks!!!
Help me cook!? Im trying the cambells cheesy chicken rice casserole. I want to substitute but im no kind of experienced cook so I wanted to ask if this would work. Since its a casserole I assume it really doesnt matter how much I actually put in it. I wanted to double the soup, use chicken broth instead of water, and use canned vegitables intead of frozen. I also dont have onion powder but I have onion soup mix. Should I use the soup mix or just leave it out. and Im just worried that maybe the vegitables will be gross if I cook them for 50 min bc its intended for frozen? or will they be fine? Also I have a 9x13 dish and not an 8x11 like it calls for, but since im making more I assume it should be fine? Any advice or suggestions would be great. I dont cook often and id like my hubby to be impressed. thanx heres the link to the recipe http://www.campbellskitchen.com/SpecialtySiteRecipeDetail.aspx?recipeSource=MealIdeas&recipeID=27173&rc=585&specialty=casserole

What is wrong with her? She is driving me insane? Is there like some sort of psychosis that my mother has? She always yells, slams doors, and likes to slam and open, slam and then open, repeat, repeat slamming the same door, all the time, for stupid things like dogs barking. For dinner I thought I was supposed to make Cheesy Chicken and Rice Casserole, but I was actually supposed to make Chicken and rice seperately, and she freaked out, is slamming doors, and now wants me out of the house. She always tries to tell my sister and I, that she has lived the worst possible life to live. I hate this, she is making every day filled with solitude.
NEW Campbell's recipe in magazines...? So I saw this NEW vamped up version of the Cheesy Chicken and Rice Casserole... it's got brown rice and broccoli... but I can't for the LIFE of me find the magazine that I originally saw it! Someone please help. I've scoured over the Campbell's websites. This recipe is ALL over like, parenting, Parents, Family Circle, Good Housekeeping, one of those. Thanks for your help. And remember this is the NEW version... all I can find is the OLD one with reg white rice... thanks I did contact them, yest. morning, they never contacted me back. Mexican Meal with Chicken? hi! I probably won't be much help, but i'll try. So one time i ate this mexican meal and it was delicious! I can't recall what it was, but i remember a little bit about it. It consisted on a casserole dish with a tortilla base and chicken breast. On top was a cheesy topping. Then there were little jalepeno peppers on top. It was so good! Any suggestions appreciated. i know i'm not very helpful, but thanks anyway.
substitute for "cream of" soups? I want to make either cheesy broccoli and chicken soup or a casserole but all the recipes call for "cream of" soups. What can I use instead? Chicken stock and milk? Flour?

Does this recipe sound good? Ok - I wanted to do a little something different with Chicken & Rice than what I normally do and this recipe may already exist so I'm not trying to pass it off as my own, but here's what I came up with and to me it sounds good, but want the opinion of others so I don't make a dish that's horrible. Cooked rice mixed with a can of cream of chicken and velveeta cheese and warmed until cheese is melted. I'm just going to cook my chicken in some light seasonings. Then bake the chicken on top of the rice mixture topped with cheese and those crispy onions that you put on top of green bean casserole. Bake until warmed through and the top cheese is melted. So this is basically a cheesy chicken & rice. Does this sound good??? Thanks for your opinions. *** LMAO to the second answer. That's how my stepdad determines if a meal is good or not -if it'll make a good turd!! *** I guess I should have added that we're doing broccoli & cheese on the side. I thought about broccoli in the dish itself, but my 4 year old is picky about her food. She likes broccoli & cheese by itself, so that's why I'm doing it that way. Thanks everyone so far!!! Great ideas!!

Casual Dinner party menu i am throwing a very casual dinner party and wanted opinions on the menu. My sisters boyfriend has been asking for cheesy potatoes, so I tried to create a menu around that. (Which isn't easy to do unless you resort to hot dogs!) Baked Brie Appetizer (okay mainly cuz i have a taste for it!) Chicken Artichoke Casserole (Still experimenting with a recipe- but something like this, chunk chicken, artichoke hearts, garlic, little mayo and dijon mixed together and spread into a baker. topped with spinach, then topped with parmesan cheese. Sprinkle with bread crumbs and bake) Cheesy potatoes Cucumber and tomato salad Apple Cinnamon Wontons for dessert Too much cheesiness? Suggestions?
Help with 7 month old eating. Is she fussy, or too young to worry? My 7 month old was weaned at about 23 weeks (due to weight loss on breastfeeding alone). I weaned her on the usual baby rice, pear, apple etc. followed by sweet potato, swede, squash, other veg, banana, avocado etc. etc. She was doing fine and I had progressed to home made chicken casseroles, lentil hot pots and she would have them ok. However, she seems to be getting more fussy over what she will have. Firstly, she completely refuses anything that is bought in, i.e. not home made. I don't mind this so much, but she only wants sweet stuff or cheesy/creamy stuff. She won't have lamb, fish, tomato based stuff. Basically if it's not sweetish, she doesn't want it. By this I mean sweet potato and other sweet veg, or anything in a cheesy/creamy sauce. Does this matter at this age - will she start to accept other things over time or do I need to do something now to correct this. Am worried I'll have a fussy eater on my hands. Advice on what other babies were eating at 7 months would be great. Thanks.
What's for supper? . . .? I'm curious about what's for supper at your house when you have guests. I just had my sister, brother-in-law and they're kids over for supper and a movie. We had grilled-bbq chicken breats, crock-pot bonelss bbq pork country ribs, deviled eggs, potato salad, green beans, turnip greens, hashbrown casserole, Texas-style cheesy bread, and baked beans. I always cook a spread so everyone can have a choice of what they want. This is just what I happened to cook this time. I also do Homemade Lasagna, Roast & Potatoes, etc. for company, and always with the fixings!! So what's for supper at your house when there's guests? Is is something you do-up special for just guests or an "all the time favorite" you serve to just yourself as well as others?
