Time for cooking chicken and stuffing? We didn't get leftovers from where we had dinner, so I'm making another small thanksgiving batch today and have some questions I hope people can help me with. I am cooking three chicken breasts with homemade stuffing. I was thinking about putting the stuffing in a casserole dish, putting the chicken breast on top, then covering with foil. Looking for specific chicken casserole recipe? I am looking for a really specific chicken casserole recipe my grandma used to make. She had a written recipe she got from a newpaper, so I know she didn't just make it up on her own. These are as many ingrediants as I can remember from it: Chicken, corn flakes, mayo, either cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup. I can find recipes like this, but what I can't figure out is the additional flavor. It has a hint of a stuffing flavor to it, so I think it might be sage, but I do kind of remember her fishing out a bay leaf out of it too. Also, the corn flakes were in it and on top. Does anyone have any suggestions, or know of anything similar to this? Thanks in advance! Stefanie I forgot to add that there are no water chestnuts, cheese, corn, or almonds in the recipe.

I am baking a chicken and stuffing casserole and the recipe said cook chicken breast halves for 30 minutes at 400 degrees. well i cooked whole boneless skinless chicken breasts ..so how long should it take? i mean there is other stuff in there too so i dont want to just leave it in there for an hour..it might mess up the stuffing ..i dont know. please help. i thought maybe i would add another 20 minutes and bring the heat down to 300...sound good? please help! thanks everyone..my plan worked...its done and moist and great! thanks anyways :D

A chicken casserole recipe? Help? I cannot remember what it was. I know it had uncooked chicken breasts, whole. In a casserole dish with cream of mushroom soup, and Stove Top Chicken Stuffing. All I can remember is put the chicken in a casserole dish, add the cream of mushroom soup, then the stuffing over each piece of chicken. add butter and put in the oven on 450 for an hour. But I'm not sure. I know it had the ingredients. 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 pgk of chicken stuffing 4 chicken breasts butter but I cannot remember anything else! leftover chicken and stuffing? I made a roasted chicken for dinner, and we have a ton of meat leftover (mostly white meat, as I'm the only one of the 3 of us that eats that..) Chicken Dressing Casserole..How do I cook the Chicken? OK here is my recipe Ingredients: * 3 cups cooked diced chicken * 1 can cream of mushroom soup * 1 can cream of celery soup * 2 cups chicken broth * 1/2 cup melted butter * 1 package herb-seasoned stuffing mix, (6 to 8 oz) * 1 cup shredded cheese, Swiss or Cheddar Preparation: Combine soups and chicken broth; add diced chicken to the mixture. Add butter to dressing mix. Combine chicken mixture with the dressing mixture. Place in a 2 to 2 1/2-quart casserole and bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Top with shredded cheese during the last 5 minutes if desired. Serves 6. OK my ?tion is how do I cook the Chicken? Fry it,bake it,grill it...if anyone knows please let me know im making it for Thanksgiving and it calls for 3 cups diced cooked chicken...and idk how it wants me to cook the chicken (boneless skinless breast) if that makes a difference... Can you make chicken tetrazzini with raw chicken? All the recipes I've seen call for cooked chicken. Can I just sear the chicken w/the onions and mushrooms and cook it the rest of the way in the oven? Ignoring the silly packet instructions? Well, Bung the sausage casserole powder into a sausage casserole. Stuff the chicken stir fry lemon sauce on lumps of chicken. Guess what, add Bisto into a Shepherds pie. Ah, white parsley sauce to go with fish. I don't need a packet of stuff telling me to add boiling water. Do they think we are daft? Perhaps it is all for the hard of thinking. I am no chef, but what is it with all these daft uneccesary instructions.? Use a non-stick frying pan if you don't want it to stick. Brilliant thinking ! Any casserole recipes like Stouffer's Chicken and Veggie Bake? I'm thinking about making a casserole in a couple days, with chicken, brocolli, carrots, rice and cheese. I'm hoping to come up with something with a similar taste and texture as Stouffer's "Grandma's Chicken and Vegetable Bake," but with fresher ingredients. Anyone have advice for a good recipe to mimic this dinner? Right now I'm thinking to cook and dice the veggies and chicken, mix in with cooked (basmati) rice, mix with some sauce/mix/cheese/etc (where I need the most help,) and topping it all with crumbled up stove-top stuffing. How do I make the saucey cheesy mixture, and how long should I cook the casserole? I generally never use mayo, ranch, or sour cream, but I might make an exception if the ingredient will texturize without being tasted in the casserole. I'm planning to use cheddar cheese (grated,) but I also have velveeta, mozarella, and a few other cheeses, if they might work better. Someone give me a good recipe for all of these ingredients. Should I pre-cook quinoa before adding it to a chicken and rice casserole dish? My boyfriend is not a health-food fan, so I've been trying to find happy mediums in stuff that I'd usually cook for the family. I'd normally just make the casserole (aka one-dish-wonder. throw what's available in a pan and hope for the best!) with minute rice, cooking it from dry. I'd like to try going half-and-half with rice a quinoa, but I'm not sure if I should boil it before throwing in the pan with all of the other ingredients. So, fairly plainly-stated. Cook quinoa before adding to a baked chicken and rice dish, or add dry and it'll cook along with everything else?

Healthier alternative for cream of chicken soup? I have lots of recipes that call for a can or two of cream of chicken (or cream of mushroom or cream of celery, etc.). One of the things I like about cooking for my family is that I can scam in veggies and make things a bit healthier. But adding a can of that stuff seems to defeat the whole purpose. They are loaded with fat and sodium. Does anyone have a recipe for a homemade, healthier cream of something soup that will work in a casserole? Or does anyone know of a brand of cream soups that is low in fat and sodium?

Quick-EASY-Tasty Recipes with chicken pieces? How about a trade? Here is mine: 9x13 Casserole Dish 1. Dump 2 boxes of Stuffing into dish - mix in butter & water 2. Lay a few pieces of boneless skinless chicken (even if it is frozen) on top of Stuffing. 3. Spread 1 can of cream of chicken soup on top of Chicken. 4. Top that with Swiss Cheese Slices. Meat gross!? My wife is a lover of animals and she will not touch meat. Every time we cook steak, Chicken casserole, or plain chicken I have to do the meat part, I'm not saying that she has to cook everything, we take turns. It's just when it's her turn to cook, she loves chicken stuff, I have to cook the chicken or beef or whatever she wants to cook and I like to eat when I get home same with her. I am not going to ask her to cook vegetarian though. we are not veggies, and I need a way for her to touch meat, sorry if it's confusing. =(

My kids want chicken spaghetti? All the recipes I have found have Velveeta in it, which I find disgusting and really unhealthy. All I know from them is it has chicken, spaghetti, and "creamy stuff" in it, and it's baked in a casserole-type pan. Their mom used to make it for them before their dad divorced her, and I don't want to ask her for the recipe. It probably had Velveeta in it anyway, knowing her. . . . What are your different ways of preparing Chicken....? My dad is not a chicken eating fan lol. And his doctor wants him to eat right... he LOVES MEAT but not the healthy kind and he can't eat so much of it either. Of course there are other foods to prepare. In a healthy way please lol. He's a diabetic and has high blood pressure if that helps. Girl's Night Dinner? The girls are comming over Saturday for a girls night and I am making dinner. It's to thank them for being such awesome bridesmaids. I bought the Tony Chaucery's (sp?) garlic and herb injector kit, so I'm going to pump the bird full of that, but what do I put on the outside? I don't have any garlic, but I do have most of the other spices. Also, I just discovered my roasting pan did not make it in the move ;'(. Can I just use my casserole dish? I do have a LARGE roasting bag and paper bags on hand if you know some crazy way to cook in that. Would making a foil tent over the chicken be acceptable too? Have 2 frozen pork chops,6 eggs,2 packs of frozen hash browns, flour, reg. milk, buttermilk, 2 cans of condensed milk, 3 can of cream of chicken soup, 1 pack ground beef, 1 tube of bulk sausage(Tennessee Pride name brand), three 1/2 pound bags of America cheese, 1 box of corn flakes, 4 sticks of butter(not margarine), 1 jar of Ragu pizza sauce, 4 apples,2 cans of apple pie filling, 3 pie crust,1 bowl of Cool Whip, 1 loaf of stale bread(4 days over), 8 cans crushed pineapple(love that pineapple) and 3 cans chicken broth.what I can use to make a casserole and no I don't what to use them all unless you think I could.This is EVERYTHING I have in the house till morning.Can't sleep so I want to cook till I get tired.If I can make anything else using this stuff I'm open to ideas. I know I spelled Hot instead of how as I said that's ALL I got nothing else
Pasta & Casserole? Anyone know some great pasta and casserole receipies? I cook dinner for my boyfriend since he works 7 to 7 and his mom cooks dinner at like 5 so he misses out. (We're only 18, freshly graduated) I am a pretty good cook but I want to try some new things. We have steak, homemade chicken noodle soup, fried summer sausage and potatoes, homemade pizza, and spaghetti quite a bit. (some of our favorite foods) I want to switch it up a bit every now and then though. *We're both pretty picky *We don't eat mexican, chinese, or seafood *We love Italian & traditional american food *We're not a huge fan of mushrooms and stuff like that *Please don't tell me to "open up to new foods" obviously I have or I wouldn't know I don't like them (: Thanks Much!! What can I make with these foods? 1 lb ground turkey 1 lb chicken breasts 1 can beef broth frozen grean beans instant brown rice instant white rice canned clams beer and essential like flour, sugar, olive oil, butter, pasta, etc. I like casseroles and that kind of stuff. Why doesnt my oven work?!? I have a Chef upright gas oven/cooktop combo... basically it is working, the gas element in the oven lights, and it is great to heat up stuff or make casseroles... but I cant seem to bake anything... I cooked a roast chicken...after 6 hours it was still not cooked... and I tried a pavlova and a cake, and both came out flat as a pancake (and yes I do know how to cook!) .... I cant work it out... as it will bake small pies etc no problem.... but for other stuff it wont!!!!??? Please help!! Thanks. Hi what is a "top burner"????? Getting sick of the same thing every week.....? We eat throughout the month.. Meatloaf Spaghetti pork chops hamburgers tacos/burritos taco soup tv dinner rib things sandwiches pulled pork sandwiches red beans and rice stew hamburger helper type dishes chili salads fried chicken catfish steaks chicken casserole chicken spaghetti (cheese sauce) soups veggie platters (to be different) barbecue stuff etc., etc. and the list goes on.............. I consider myself a fairly decent cook..(nobody's died from it...lol) so if you can give me some fresh ideas of what to cook, I'd be so greatful!! New casseroles, crockpot dishes, mexican food (YUM-O!). Average ingredients in household, if this helps you.
temp. and time? i am throwing a bunch of stuff in a casserole dish and putting it into the oven but i don't know what temperature to put it at or for how long.... i have frozen uncooked chicken fritters in a cream of mushroom roasted garlic at the bottom. the bag is not labeled so if i was just cooking that in the oven i'd put it at 350 for about 20 minutes, maybe less. but i have sliced some potatoes pretty thin and mixed that with more cream of mushroom soup, diced tomatoes and canned green beans, drained. so the potatoes throw me off. they are all on top of eachother and i don't know how long it would take them to cook. i usually cook potatoes on the stove. so i have all that stuff in the dish ready to cook... so what do you think??

Christmas EVE Dinner Menu??? I am going to try and make Christmas Eve dinner for my family. I want to do ALL the cooking and I'll be cooking for about 17 people. I was thinking that I could have a lot of things but none of the stuff LOOKS like it will take that long. I am not sure, but what things would be good to PRE cook & just heat up that day? Good down-home Southern food up in New England? I live near Boston - technically in the Merrimack Valley/Essex County. Do you know of places around here (I'll drive a ways if it's worth it) that I can get good, down-home southern food? I'm not talking about Cajun or Creole or BBQ. I'm talking Chicken and Dumplings, Chicken Fried Chicken, Biscuits and Gravy, Corn Pudding, Hash Brown Casserole, southern-style green beans, etc. I know about Cracker Barrel, and so far they are my favorite restaurant around here, but still... their chicken isn't actually cooked with their dumplins, and the CBs up here don't make their gravy right - too much flour, not enough sausage... And please don't say my kitchen. I do cook a lot of stuff myself, but there is something extra delicious about not having to cook. So... where else up here can a southern gal get comfort food?
my ignorant annoying mother? ok i am a mother of a nice 16 year old kid, and im a daughter of a naught so nice parent. my mother is 65 years old, so i need advice on what to do with a few problems listed below. (1) she believes in witch craft and buys 15 books/dvds/tapes each month on how to heal people with thoughts, and poof away your neighboor. (2) she feeds her dog chicken and rice casserole each day three times a day and she has four dogs. (3) she always blames my kid for stuff that she did wrong, and we dont even live with her. (4) she always comes to my kid asking for money to borrow so she can buy groceries for her dogs, dvds for her withcraft, and just money for rent, and my kid is working and trying to buy a car but cant pay for my mothers voodoo. (5) she refuses to go to a nursing home and the one time we tried she left and walked 4 miles back to her house. now i think i covered the basic major problems, now any advice?

Foods for weight loss??????? Im trying to lose abit of weight at the moment, im working out quite regularly, and work every afternoon (physical job). My daily diet is usually cereals in the morning with some milk, lots of fruit throughout the day, and some casserole or stew or rice and chicken etc. in the afternoon. Do eat some deserts and stuff like caramel flan and that, but ALWAYS check the calories and fat and sugar in stuff, but i dont seem to be getting any results really! Still have that belly bobble. Any opinions on my diet and helpful info?
out\-of-the-ordinary Dinner recipes? I'm in a slump of cooking the same foods within a 2 week time period. I prefer making what I can homemade. Here are the usuals: Fried, grilled or baked (in cream of mush soup) pork chops, HOMEMADE spaghetti (the sauce) with store-bought but fresh refrigerated noodles (so much better and only take 2 min to boil!) Hamburger gravy over mashed potatoes, chicken stir-fry, beef barley soup, homemade chicken noodle, homemade chicken fettucine alfredo, I also have to cook alot of traditional mexican foods since my b/f is hispanic... I don't need any taco recipes! lol. I love Greek food-gyros-stuffed grape leaves, hummus and pita & tabouli. I love seafood(scallops, shrimp, cod, halibut, salmon, tilapia) but I don't cook too much fish I'm hoping I can get some yummy recipes-not so much casseroles please!! More like homemade things(ie: chicken fried steak, beef tri tips...etc) I'm on a budget so nothing too fancy or with 100 diff ingredients.

Having the brother-in-law over!? My brother-in-law and his fiance are coming over for dinner tonight. It was a last minute decision and I didn't stock up on groceries. I am not making an effort to run outside (it's snowing in NY) and pick up some extra stuff. I have three fair sized boneless chicken breast and there will be the 4 of us. What dishes can I make that require cutting up chicken in small pieces so that it can make 4 dishes for all of us. I am thinking of a casserole but that doesn't include one too many ingredients (remember I did not go shopping). I was thinking perhaps with rice, pasta or maybe even stove-top. Anybody planning to have a Christmas party at their house? My boyfriend and I went to a Christmas party at his coworker's house. I didn't want to go at first because I wanted to rest at home, but I'm glad I went. OMG! His coworker had sooooooooo much food at her house. She had made fried turkey, boiled crab legs, stuffing, macaroni and cheese, mash potatoes&gravy, candied yams, green bean casserole, cajun rice, collard greens, baked honey ham, roast beef,dressing, corn bread,dinner rolls, mixed vegetables, and roast pork tenderloins. She also made homemade desserts such as devils food cake, caramel cake, pecan cake, banana pudding w/ rum sauce, strawberry cheesecake, several pecan and sweet potatoe pies. She even set up an appetizer tray with finger sandwiches, quiche,chicken salad,deviled eggs,shrimp cocktail and a champagne fountain. My boyfriend over ate so I had to drive back home. P.S. Can I come?
