Chicken Parmasen Casserole recipe? I just made a thick meaty spaghetti and looking for a Chicken Parmesan Casserole recipe. Ideally, something I can throw in a casserole dish and put in the oven! Nothing if off limits, I have a pretty stocked kitchen - thanks! Oh, and the sauce is currently in a slow cooker keeping warm. So slow cooker recipes would be great too. Thanks.
My kids want chicken spaghetti? All the recipes I have found have Velveeta in it, which I find disgusting and really unhealthy. All I know from them is it has chicken, spaghetti, and "creamy stuff" in it, and it's baked in a casserole-type pan. Their mom used to make it for them before their dad divorced her, and I don't want to ask her for the recipe. It probably had Velveeta in it anyway, knowing her. . . . Any ideas would be much appreciated!
I need good family recipes for a family of three? I usually make tacos, spaghetti, chicken casserole, hash brown casserole, enchiladas, roast, stir fry. And any of the the other basic dinners. I need some student friendly, budget friendly, fill-your-belly recipes that aren't ENTIRELY bad for you. Anything with pasta, or some kind of casserole would be great......a little bit of chicken or something incorporated would be awesome, but Im not looking for that to be the MAIN thing of the dish. Ideas that I've had are..... chicken tetrazzini, linguine carbonara, spaghetti casserole, pizza casserole, broccoli and chicken casserole, chinese rice. Anymore ideas??? Thanks SO SO SO much!!

How many different ways can you make chicken? I make fried, both kinds, floured and breaded, chicken parmesan, chicken taquitos and tacos , chicken spaghetti, Italian chicken, teriyaki chicken, chicken stir fry, bbq chicken, breaded chicken sandwiches, carving board chicken sandwiches, chicken nuggets and strips , chicken soup, chicken casserole, baked chicken and foil packets….. and I’m sick of them all….don’t get me wrong I do eat beef, pork and fish, but chicken is always cheaper at the store. What do you do with chicken and do you have any recipes that you might think that I might like? I want a good old fashioned recipe for chicken gumbo, old style. Grandma use to make it, but she passed on with her recipe. I’m up for anything, list what you know and pass around some recipes if you don’t mind. Oh, a good recipe for something like General Tao’s chicken or sesame chicken will be great !!
I need ideas for a home cooked dinner for my family? I buy groceries for a two week period. So when I go shopping, I have to buy ingredients for 14 dinners. (I love to cook!) I consider myself a fairly decent cook..(nobody's died from it...lol) so if you can give me some fresh ideas of what to cook, I'd be so greatful!! New casseroles, crockpot dishes, mexican food (YUM-O!). Average ingredients in household, if this helps you.
I need a frozen chicken tender recipe I can make in the oven with just the following things...? I only have shredded cheese, 2 eggs, butter, flour, salt, pepper, bread crumbs, spaghetti sauce, parsley, and frozen chicken tenderloins. I also have 1 cookie sheet, 1 casserole dish with a lid. I'm a complete nightmare when it comes to cooking of any kind and I need to be instructed like a kindergartner. Can anyone help? Is it possible to make anything edible with those tools/ingredients?
Does anybody have any casserole dishes or other cheap recipes willing to share? I just feel like I am cooking the same things over and over again---spaghetti, alfredo (which I will never tire of, but...) goulash, etc. My problem is though, that my family is picky eaters and none of us like onions and my 5 year old won't eat corn so I have to make separate dishes of food for him with no corn, nobody likes cream of mushrooms and basically our staple foods have become chicken and pastas and potatoes because that's about all I can cook that everybody will eat (though my b/f will eat anything I cook lol). Does anybody have anything along these lines to share a recipe or casserole dish? Yeah, that's why I am always cooking the same things because one person or the other won't like them lol.
For those of you who have a 12 month old baby......? Can you please tell me how much and what they eat during the day? This is my son's typical day: Bottle of milk in the morning Breakfast - 3/4 weetabix or a little porridge Snack - fromage frais or half a banana Lunch - 1/4 sandwich Snack - raisins or a piece of fruit like an apple or a pear 12 small spoonfuls of dinner, which would be something like chicken casserole, spaghetti bolognaise, shepherds pie with veg etc. Bottle of milk before bed Drinks - water through the day Is this normal or should he be eating more? Sometimes he won't even eat his snacks and will go hours until his next meal and even then he won't eat much. When he doesn't eat very often, he wakes during the night screaming with trapped wind- this doesn't seem to happen when he eats properly. Any suggestions? What do your children eat?
Cheap meal ideas that I can freeze? I'm on a budget. My husband is driving out of state each day for work. With gas prices up, we need to conserve on food costs. I would like to get some yummy recipes for meals that I can make from scratch and that are still inexpensive! I would like to be able to freeze them as well. Easy recipes are best, but I can cook. I already have: spaghetti lasagna sloppy joe veggie soup tuna casserole chicken stew Thanks in advance!
What meal should go on a menu for football players? I'm in the culinary program at school and we serve the players every game day. We've made mashed potatoes, bbq chicken, macaroni and cheese, pasta casserole, wings, spaghetti and a few other things so far. Can anyone help me out with some suggestions because we really don't want to repeat anything that we've served before. Thanks in advance.
Economical recipes for dinners? Hi, I am unable to work at present for health reasons and we are having to be very careful with money. I am cooking a lot of minced beef hotpots, spaghetti bolognaise, chicken casseroles, tuna pasta and jacket potatoes. What other cheap options are there for healthy and varied hot meals?
What are the "signs" that baby is ready for table food? By table food I mean the things my husband and I eat (spaghetti, grilled chicken, hamburgers, green bean casserole...) My 10 mo old baby eats the jarred baby food but practically nothing else. I have been told that there are "signs" that baby is ready...what are they?
Quick, but nutritious recipes for my picky, skinny 16 year-old boy? My son is now 6'4" and only 145 lbs.! He used to be quite picky about EVERYTHING, but now says that he will eat more if it's "home-cooked"! He likes spaghetti and chicken-rice casserole. Still, I must admit I HATE cooking! I was forced to cook for my family of 7 starting at age 13 and it burnt me out. But I want my son to gain weight and eat right. Does anyone have some EASY, quick(er), but nutritious meals (favoring carbos and meat, as my kid still hates veggies) that I can try on him? He looks like Ichabod Crane! Thanks so far, everybody! I forgot to add that my kid is "afraid of getting fat"! I don't know where that comes from (maybe this should go into "psychology"?) but he DOES eat if he likes it. He absolutely REFUSES to eat any veggies but broccoli! He also has a Vitamin K deficiency.
how much/what do you feed your 1 year old...veggies? my son is 14 months and WILL NOT eat veggies, he used to eat them very well but the last couple months refuses. even when i hide them in a casserole or pasta he eats the noodles and sauce then spits out the veggies. his other meals: breakfast 8 oz of whole milk then a dry blueberry waffle, oatmeal, yogurt, dry pancakes, or scrambled eggs. snacks twice a day...fruit, cheerios, or crackers lunch usually a turkey dog with fruit, cheese and crackers, peanut butter and crackers dinner usually what we are eating, casseroles, spaghetti, chicken (with ketchup), pot pie, quesadillas, or grilled cheese. I feel this is unhealthy eating especially with no veggies, any ideas or help?
Quick, easy family meals? I'm 14 and love to cook, and most times volunteer to make dinner for the family. My dad handles all of the meat prep and meat cooking and whatnot, though. Normally we stick with things like burgers, spaghetti, casseroles, chicken, etc. I'm trying to make a list of easy meal ideas (ones that don't require recipes or long prep times). Just a simple suggestion like lemon chicken with steamed veggies and rolls. Simple and easy! Things I would prefer to stay away from are anything with mayo or ranch, lots of cheese, or complicated/long recipes or prep times. Thanks, and no links please!
What's the healthiest thing to eat at my school's lunch? There are 3 different choices. Chicken: Usually either nuggets, strips, patties, or popcorn Chicken. Not greasy. Served with either french fries or tatortots. Pizza: Pizza (Pepperoni, Cheese) Cheese-Sticks (Not greasy, breaded like a roll), Jalapeno-Sticks (Alot like the Cheese Sticks), Quesadeas w/ chicken and cheese. All usually served with fries or tator tots. Main Course: Differs on different days. Usually either, Salisbury steak, Ribs, Taco Salad, Breakfast, Macaroni, Spaghetti, Soups, Brocolli-Chicken Casserole, etc. Served with potatoes or Macaroni or any other small side item. We also have salads with ham or turkey and chicken wraps (Tortilla, Cheese, Bacon) --We have fruit for a side item to go along with your meal, and a dessert too (Cookies, cake, etc.) --I like honey mustard with my chicken, and ranch with my wraps. So, give me the healthiest food I can eat out of these choices.

What types of food do you cook normally? I can currently make a few things. Nothing big but I am learning. I make spaghetti, shepard's pie, chicken broccoli casserol, and.... I think that's about all. I mean I like simple easy recipes and casseroles because I love cleaning up while the casserole is in the oven. Other than that I can follow directions on the boxes. ha. Are there any easy meals you can recommend? I eventually hope to cook with more effort right now I'm just learning.

What are some easy meals? What are some easy to make meals? I already know that hamburgers, spaghetti, simple baked chicken, etc. is easy to make, but what are some INTERESTING meals, that are also easy to make? A few things I came across are spaghetti sauce with bow-tie noodles and veggies mixed in, chicken/veggie casserole, veggie stir-fry. We're not big on cheese, casseroles, or really out-there recipes. Thank you (: 15 points to best answer.
My girlfriend left because of her weight, what do I do?!? So last week my girlfriend packs her stuff and leaves the house while I'm at work. She leaves a note saying she can't be around me any more. And she won't take my calls. I'm trying to figure out why. We loved each other and I was planning on proposing soon. I think I know what happened. When we first met she was a petite and adorable young lady who I was instantly smitten with. We started dating shortly and so on. Anyway, I am an excellent cook and I loved cooking for my girl. I would make chicken parmesan, spaghetti, rigatoni, casseroles, meatloaf, pork chops, and other tasty, great dishes. For dessert I would make chocolate double fudge cake, souffles, cheesecakes, or pies. At first she ate very little, but soon she was eating everything on her plate and having seconds. So after about a year of us dating she really filled out. She gained more than 45 pounds, and although I tried to get her to exercise with me, she never would. I found her new body sexy: her gigantic bottom, her wonderful curves, her fuller face. I preferred skinny women, but I still found her incredible sexy. But she was on the morbid side near the end. So anyway now she's gone and I think this was the reason. HELP ME!!! WHAT DO I DO?!

How can I get my 3 year old son to eat more food? My son is 3 years old and always wants to eat but hardly ever eats what I give him. He will ask for certain things and sometimes he may eat it. When I give him lunch or dinner, he just sits there and plays with his fingers and picks at it and never touches it. I have tried giving him several colors, textures, and different types of food to make him eat. I have even tried giving him foods he likes and he usually eats. But, that is like cheetos, fries, hot dogs, fruits, etc. He hardly ever eats any meats or noodles. He hates ravioli's, chicken noodle soup, spaghetti, tacos, casseroles, and other basic lunch and dinner foods. I have been taking care of my sister's kids during the day and I feed them all the same thing. They will make "happy plates" and he will still be sitting in his chair, looking around, with food on his plate that may hardly be touched. I usually leave him there until he eats some or most of it and then he can go play. Please help me out on what I can do! I have limited his drink during the day down to 3 cups. He has milk in the morning and dilluted juice the next 2 times. When I say dilluted, I mean half water and half juice. He is a very active child and doesn't need all of that sugar. But, it does sound right, now that I think about it. He eats good breakfast and drinks milk and by lunch, he hardly eats. He must be full! I just feel so stressed out and upset at the same time b/c I feel like he is not getting all of the right nutrition. I even give him vitamins and night so I know he is getting some nutrition. He had his tonsils and adnoids removed 2 years ago, along with adding tubes in his ears.
Single mother going to purchase crockpot and blender, need toddler friendly recipes, please? I'm 30 years old, don't really like to cook, only certain things, and I'm single, as everyone knows. My son is a very picky eater. The only thing I know how to cook without pulling out a recipe book is hamburgers, spaghetti, chilli, lasagna, chicken enchilladas, chicken wraps, tuna casserole, (out of the box), hamburger helper (out of the box), and baked bbq chicken. My son loves cornbread, and I know how to cook that, he likes beef macoroni, graham crackers, applesauce, a slice of bread, toast, oatmeal, chicken nuggets, sometimes fish sticks, spaghetti o's, pizza and that is it. I am going to invest in a crockpot. I have always avoided these for lack of knowledge on how to prepare anything in them, or know any recipes, and the blender, I just never got around to getting. Please share your toddler friendly, and the whole-family friendly crockpot and blender recipes!!! Quick and simple, and if anyone has a zesty way to make tuna. Like I take tuna out of the can, add boiled eggs (chopped), sweet pickles, diced finely, and mayonaise, and eat them with crackers. Can someone please give me their TUNA RECIPE, I need something with a twist. Thanks!
How did your Christmas Dinner turn out? Everyone tells me I'm a good cook. I try really hard to please people with my cooking but sometimes I fall short. This Christmas, I took on the whole thing among my family. My faux pas this year, I cooked the ham without removing the plastic center thing. I mixed up some "creams of" soups and wound up with no cream of mushroom for the Green Bean Casserole (had to scrap that all together), and I could not find my favorite Chicken Spaghetti recipe, so I had to cook it from memory. Had it not been for cooking for fewer people this year and a couple of glasses of dinner wine, while cooking, I never would have come from under the table this Christmas. Overall, I think I did a good job. If my loved ones are happy, that's all that matters. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!
What is an average meal like at your house? Just Wondering =) I was at my Brother-in-laws house this past evening, while he was feeding is children. He was feeding them just macaroni & a glass of water. no judgment to him.. I was just wondering what you feed your families for dinner. My children are 10,8,7,5,3 yr. old twins,16 months & 6 weeks. We normally have the main course. It's sometimes Lasagna, Spaghetti, Chicken, some time of rice,casseroles.. thinks like that. Then we normally have a fruit or vegetable for the children to eat(corn, broccoli..) Then some times a bread.(rolls..things like that) I normally make my children drink a glass of milk with dinner as well. So what do you mommies feed your families for dinner?
Can't live off of pizza forever, what can I make?? I've gained a ton of weight since I moved out of my parents' house, because I can't cook. I know how to make mashed potato casserole, tacos, spaghetti, hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken quesadillas. What else can I make that's pretty easy (i.e. no off the wall ingredients) I also don't know how to put meals together. I know I should eat vegetables, but what goes with what? Corn goes with everything... Help, before I eat so much pizza that I don't fit out the door!
New meal ideas! any suggestions? Me and my husband have been married for going on three years and our dinner menu has not changed! Typically I make things like hamburger helper, chicken & dumpling, spaghetti and a few diff. casseroles. It seems like a variety but after a while it gets routine. I am looking for some new, easy recipes that we and our toddler can enjoy... Thankx

I need something to cook for dinner for 6 grown men....? Hubby is going on a week long fishing trip... Everyone is required to take a meal for dinner so I have to make something that is freezable and reheatable. Lasagne, Spaghetti Bolognaise and Curried Sausages are already being done Was thinking something with Chicken? A casserole of some type? I need help fast! I have to make something by tomorrow morning and it needs to be a type of one pot meal so they don't have to cook anything to go with it other than some pasta or something. HELP!! I like the beef stew idea...anyone got a CHICKEN casserole/stew recipe? Mine is with soup mix and ends up being a casserole because its so thick but my hubby hates soup mix (lentils, split peas etc..) so I need an idea for one without it that will still taste good.....

How can I modify the following dishes to make them suitable for? A child aged 12-24 months? - Shepard's Pie - Omelette - Chicken Casserole - Spaghetti Bolognese - Pizza - Macaroni Cheese - Beef Stew - Sweet and Sour Chicken - Chicken Kebabs in Pitta Packet and Salad Please and thanks! I have no idea! I have to do a Home Ec project where I have to modify these dishes and, like you said, I think they're fine already lol...so I have no idea what to write :D
What's a good dish ( recipe ) I can make that will last for days as leftovers? Need ideas? I need some ideas about what I could make that would be relatively easy to make, and I could make it my next staple food that I turn to all the time. I rarely come up with new dish ideas, and have been stuck on chicken fingers and spaghetti for what seems like ages now. I was thinking some type of casserole, or something I could make with boneless skinless chicken breast...I have tons of that in the freezer that my dad gave me. Hmmmm. But it doesn't have to be a casserole , I'm sure there are tons of things I would love to make but can't seem to imagine them in my head. Just for God sake no more pasta! Oh, yes, and it while it doesn't have to be necessarily super-healthy, I don't want something that will cause a heart attack either lol.
Planning meals for this week... some help with side dishes please? Every week I plan a "weekly meal plan" so I know what to buy on Monday (my shopping day) for that week. I made up my meal plan for this week, and the one in 2 weeks (we're going to Florida so I need to be prepared to go shopping the day after we get back) can I get some help on what to serve with each please? I like to change meals up a lot and I was hoping to get creative ideas! Homemade pizza Lasagna Soup (thinking chicken soup) Chicken pot pie Casserole (don't know which one yet...) Chili frito pie (got recipe from Duggars, willing to try)!! Spaghetti Minestrone Enchiladas Tacos
Cooking for picky kids....? I desperately need suggestions for my three picky eaters, ages 5, 7, and 10. We moved recently and I went from being a way too busy to cook working mom to a stay at home mom ready to cook every night, but my kids are seriously stuck in a rut. I've tried simple recipes with chicken, beef and pork (no way will they even look at fish), and supposedly "kid-friendly" sides with no real success. They'll try new foods without a fuss, but if it's not an instant hit they won't eat more than a bite. And we can't have a casserole of any kind.... all foods must be separate and easily identified. If they had their way we'd have frozen pizza, chicken nuggets and mac & cheese, or spaghetti every night. Any suggestions?? I appreciate those of you who are making actual suggestions. To those of you who wish to criticize me for what you think I lack in parenting skills, keep it to yourself. That's not what I asked for. I would like to call attention to the phrase "IF they had their way..." meaning they are not actually *getting* their way. I don't keep junk food in the house because I'll be tempted to eat it too, and after-school snacking is minimal. I prepare one of their favorite meals about once a week, but otherwise what I cook is what's for dinner and that's it. They know better than to ask for anything else if they don't eat what's on their plate.
Does this sound good or not????? I'm wanting to cook spaghetti noodles, then put them in the bottom of a casserole dish, put uncooked chicken on top, tomato roasted garlic sauce, and cheese on top. Does this sound good or not? I only have mild cheddar so that's what the cheese would be. Or I could make the spaghetti separate with regular sauce and just bake the chicken and then combine. What do you think? I could also bread the chicken and cook it on the stove top and then just put on top of the spaghetti to eat.
Would you rather give up most meat, or potatoes & pasta? (if you had to choose!)? If you give up most meat, you can still have eggs, but you can't have: hot dog, roast beef, lobster, prime rib, chicken, tuna, turkey, meatballs, burger meat, ground beef, shrimp, duck, sausage, bacon, salmon, meat loaft, etc. But you can still have tofu, beans, and alternatives, etc. If you give up potatoes and pasta you can't have: spaghetti, pasta carbonara, pasta primavera, hash brown, mashed potatoes, pasta salad; casserole, macaroni and cheese, shepherds pie, fries, baked potatos, chips, etc.. But you can have rice, bread, pizza, etc.
Dinner for a week...? I thought it would be a cool idea for everyone to "plan out" a weeks worth of dinner/suppers. If you want you can just do the work week. Make sure that its a full meal and something that you and/or your family would actually eat! Here's mine: Monday - Baked spaghetti, side salad, garlic bread, and chilled fruit cups Tuesday - Grilled salmon with lemon flavoring, baked beans, pasta, and pie (any flavor) Wednesday - Chicken, rice, and peppers casserole with baked rolls and cheesecake (any flavor) Thursday - Creamy potato soup with cornbread and fruit tarts Friday - Grilled burgers w/all the toppings, grilled corn on the cob, french fries, and home made ice cream Saturday - Home made pizza and banana pudding Sunday - Roast beef, green beans with chopped onions, dirty rice, and chocolate cake
What other main dishes can I make? Here's a list of things I make every month at some point. I want to try something new because it seems tedious. I love to cook so I make big dinners every night. I feel like I've tried all kinds of things and it's all getting repetitive. I feel like I make the same stuff over and over. Anyway here's typical stuff: chicken (all kinds of ways, even sticky lemon) pork chops sirloin steaks roast fajitas tacos taco salad spaghetti lasagna tilapia turkey legs neckbones (pork) brisket ribs (pork) casseroles (tuna, chicken, etc) crab legs lobster I've made shrimp in every form known and not known to man crab salad salmon gumbo chicken and dumplings stews I think that about covers it. I feel like I've missed somethings. I'm not too sure how to make enchiladas so I haven't tried. John doesn't like tamales (I love them). I don't know how to cook lamb. I think cornish hens are kinda pointless. If you know a good reason to make them instead of just regular chicken, let me know. I'm running out of ideas. Someone please help.
Please share your kid approved recipes w/me...? I have a two yr old. He's not a picky eater but I'm sure he's sick of eating the same thing over and over as I am of making it. He's not big on hot dogs or sandwiches, he loves chicken which he has a lot of, casseroles too, beef stew, spaghetti... a lot of the same stuff over and over. Can you help me mix it up by sharing some of your menus/recipes w/me. Thanks!

What is on your weekly dinner menu? What are your staple go to meals? We all have a general go to menu with a few new things here and there. Growing up my mother made home made beffaroni, spaghetti with meat sauce, baked and or barbecue chicken, meat loaf, stew chicken and she just rotated it. We had something special for Sunday dinner twice a month and we ate out every Friday rotating who picked the restaurant. During the summer we had potato/ macaroni salad like every other week among other things. What does your weekly menu look like? Mine is like Meat loaf Some sort of pasta with ground turkey and sauce Home made chicken faitijas Shepherd's pie Turkey casserole Pretty much you can count on us eating any one of these at least once a month I try twice a month to make something different. I look up reciepes or use one from my cookbook. I have my standby because they are quick and nutritious. We have a veggie and or a salad with it. Sometimes the ones i try are easy and good so they enter the weekly rotation as i call it
what meals freeze well? (and what ones don't?)? I don't normally freeze meals but I'm about to have a baby and I want to get some suppers made up ahead of time! What things freeze really well? All I can think of is lasagna, spaghetti sauce and soup. (I don't want any seafood suggestions please, mostly just chicken if you are about to suggest casseroles!) Thank you!

out\-of-the-ordinary Dinner recipes? I'm in a slump of cooking the same foods within a 2 week time period. I prefer making what I can homemade. Here are the usuals: Fried, grilled or baked (in cream of mush soup) pork chops, HOMEMADE spaghetti (the sauce) with store-bought but fresh refrigerated noodles (so much better and only take 2 min to boil!) Hamburger gravy over mashed potatoes, chicken stir-fry, beef barley soup, homemade chicken noodle, homemade chicken fettucine alfredo, I also have to cook alot of traditional mexican foods since my b/f is hispanic... I don't need any taco recipes! lol. I love Greek food-gyros-stuffed grape leaves, hummus and pita & tabouli. I love seafood(scallops, shrimp, cod, halibut, salmon, tilapia) but I don't cook too much fish I'm hoping I can get some yummy recipes-not so much casseroles please!! More like homemade things(ie: chicken fried steak, beef tri tips...etc) I'm on a budget so nothing too fancy or with 100 diff ingredients.
Help! Need dinner ideas!? Ugh, I can't think of what to make for dinner tonight and there won't be time to go to the store. I'm only cooking for two adults. I have: Rice Eggs Instant mashed potato mix Flour Sugar Frozen veggies (corn, green beans, and peas) Canned yams Ground beef (1lbs) 2 pork chops (boneless) Tofu Spaghetti noodles and lasagna noodles Then I have different seasons/toppings: Mustard Mayo Sour cream salt pepper cinnamon ground thyme paprika ketchup Cream of mushroom/chicken Chicken broth butter oil and a few other seasoning (cumin, nutmeg, etc) If its not on this list, I don't have it and I simply don't have time to get it. Isn't it fun when you're so busy and then all of a sudden you realize you have no idea what to make? I want to avoid a casserole, so anything else would be great! Thank you!

I have the fussiest kid of all time. Help!? My son is 11 and has been a fussy eater from the day he was weaned. I have tried everything. I've talked to pediatricians (who assure me he'll get better w/ age), used scare tactics, ignored it, etc. When he was smaller, I was told if he won't eat what you cook, then he doesn't eat. If he's hungry later, tell him you'll warm over what was for dinner. The problem here is, he will still not eat. I swear, he would starve to death, or at least make himself sick before he'd eat something he doesn't like (and mind you, he hasn't even tried a lot of things. he just assumes he doesn't like them). It's like he's afraid to try new things. Literally. He's laid in bed at night worrying that he's not healthy (he is growing, and is a healthy kid, for the most part), but it's not enough to get him to eat different things. His diet consists mostly of: homemade mac n cheese, pizza, bagel bites, cheese sandwiches, salad (he does like that, and he does like veggies, too), spaghetti with no meat in his sauce. He won't eat eggs, most meat, fish, potatoes, turkey (how can you smell a turkey cooking and not want to eat it?), (he will eat broasted chicken tho), peanut butter sandwiches (he will eat bread and pnut butter in spoonfuls or in a cookie, just not together), no casseroles. I mean, the list is endless. I am a short order cook and it sucks. My question is: Do you have a fussy kid? How do I get him to not be afraid of tasting things? The other thing is, even if he is brave enough to let something he's unsure of touch his tongue, he has himself convinced he isn't going to like it, so he doesn't even give it a fair chance. Help! P.S. I am convinced this is hereditary. His dad is fussy, as is his grandfather. It just seems to be getting stronger with each generation! And his dad tries to help, and will even try things he doesn't want to because he knows what a pain it is to be fussy. P.P.S. Please don't say to just feed him what he wants. The fact is I am a short order cook who doesn't want her child to starve to death. I need a REAL solution here. I have just scratched the surface here. This was long enough. Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for your advice!
What are some easy meals we can make? We are a family of 4 and we usually have a big dinner and eat together as a family. Lately it is getting harder to eat a big meal as a family because my mom works weird shifts and my sister goes places and so they eats later when she get back. Its even harder because my dad is very picky. He dosen't like anything mixed together (like casseroles...) Usually our dinner includes meat, veg. , and bread. Our meat is usually something like pork, chicken, beef, turkey... and some veg which is usually mashed potatoes and bread. Usually easy meals for us on the days when we don't have time to make a big meal is hot beef or turkey sand., hamburgers, or spaghetti. We all know how to cook, but me and my mom usually do all the cooking so my dad likes easy meals when my mom works. I am looking for some easy meals that even my dad will like. Any ideas?? We can't have fish/seafood because my dad is allergic. Thanks!! Thanks everyone, I am going to put this question up for voting!!
