When Do You Cross the Line and Become Vain and Shallow? I am in my 40's. When I was in high school I was on a sports team. I took care of myself then and now. I eat right, I exercise, I don't smoke, and I have had one plastic surgery operation. Although I don't claim to be trendy, I do keep up with current styles for my age group. I don't try to dress like I am 20 years old. But I don't dress like an old man either. I am also lucky because I still have a full head of hair and it hasn't gone gray. Last week I went to a mini high school reunion. Time has passed on by and many of these people have not taken care of themselves. They've really let it slide big time. One woman came up to me and said, "I bet you spend a lot of time trying to keep looking sharp." I told her as another round of high fat, high calorie chicken wings was placed on the table, "It's easy to be me. All I do is say yes to the things that are good for everyone." She dug he hands into those wings and I already ate one earlier and one was enough. Another guy said, "I'd look as good as you if I were vain like you." I told him, 'Vanity has nothing to do with this. Walking 2 miles per day and eating right is all it takes. Plus some luck as far as the hair goes." I don't think of myself as vain and shallow. But I do know I have a lot of self control. Those chicken wings looked good and smelled good and tasted great. But, one is enough and plate after plate is too many.

Help!! I just ate too much, what should I do? Okay so ive been trying SO hard to lose these last 5 pounds by Halloween... ive been doing really good, very low fat and low calorie diet, but high in protein anyways, i just pigged out horribly. i just ate 10 chicken wings (500 calories) half a box of Debbie cakes (800 calories) and a HUGE bowl of ice cream with a TON of chocolate syrup (400 calories) i ate so much i felt sick, like i was about to throw up. those chicken wings tasted like pure fat and it was disgusting but i ate them all anyways. i was wondering what i should do?? i dont want my body to store all that fat!! i ate about 3 hours ago and i still feel SO gross... i plan on going to the gym like every day for 1 or 2 hours.... should i go to the gym for an extra 2 hours? maybe extra 3 hours? should i go for a walk right now?? I do 30 minutes intense cardio and then about 2 hrs of weights 3 days on and 1 day off working out different muscle groups. Well it was all peaches and cream eating these meals to start, but now i'm having to force myself to eat them. I splurged today at the end (its my day off) and bought a 12 piece boneless chicken wings in spicy BBQ from Buffalo Wild Wings with ranch dip which I split into 2 different servings.Afterwards I went to Walmart to try and look for some items with low fat high protein and almost all had a lot of calories from fat in them. I detest almost all seafood aside from tuna fish and I dont know any other ways to cook the grilled chicken where I keep the fat calories low and make more of a variety. I'm trying to live a more healthy lifestyle to look and feel good, but I know I can't eat grilled chicken stir fry and salads 6 times a day for the rest of my life. Any thoughtful answers and feedback would be very much appreciated ; >

I just binged big time, I feel terrible and am tempted to do something stupid? To clear things up, I have never been bulimic and am not right now. But I've been dieting a little the past few weeks for this huge trip I have tomorrow. Today, just when I felt great, I slipped up, big time. I don't know how many whopping calories this is but I had: - 3 chicken wings - Cold pizza - Strawberries dipped in chocolate - Extra sugary tea I feel horrible. I even thought about making myself throw up. I lost a measly two pounds, felt wonderful, and now I feel like 130 pounds of shit again. I feel like I already gained a pound. I had other plans for today but now they're pretty much in a mess because I locked myself in and binged and I'm just sitting around feeling worthless now. Please, give me some advice, some cheering up, anything that'll make me feel better and more confident for tomorrow??

chicken wing sauce on diet? Ok so, i got this buffalo chicken wing sauce thats 30 cals for 2 tablespoons. I was thinking cuz i make chicken every night for me for dinner(chicken breast), I wont be eating this sauce every nite! How bad is it for you when you over eat? I'm not talking about just over eating in general. Say you're trying to lose weight and you're eating like 1,300 calories a day but you fall off the wagon and eat 1,600 calories 'cause you had, I dunno... pizza and chicken wings for dinner. xD Can't think of a better story but anyways, how bad exactly is that for you? Males, i'm 16 and a half. For the past month i've been noticeably hungrier then usual, is this part of life? for this past month, i've been eating 4-5 meals a day with the occasional rare only 3 meal-a-day. But before i used to be satisfied with 2, i would have to force myself to eat the 3'rd. But now I'm eating alot, not small meals but meals. My question is, do all males start getting hungrier then usual in part of their life time? I'm starting to think its because I'm growing or something, and my body is demanding more. I've been 5'9 or around that area ever since i've been 13.5-14 years of age. People and family members are starting to tell me that I'm at my adult height now, and I'm not gonna grow no more. But here are my Usual Food and time 1# 6:30am - 2-3 bowls of cereal (7 inch bowls) 10am- (hungry, cant eat i'm at school) 2# 11am- first lunch, 5 chicken nuggets and a little bowl of macaroni & cheese, with like a 12oz Calcium fruit drink. (stupid small school lunches) 2pm (stomach is rumbling)(still in school) #3 3:30pm- Orange chicken, with rice, and 2 cans of 12 oz Orange soda (all of this in a 10-inch bowl) #4 7pm- (not hungry) have a snack like 2 hot dogs, or a can of chicken noodle soup(only 200 calories can), or a little bit of home made dinner #5 11pm- 3 chicken wings from chinese carry out, and 2 cups of 8oz fruit drink I forgot to add, some of you guys might think im fat lol. No im 5'9 or maybe 5'9 and a half weight is - 144 Im actually skinny, people actually under estimate my weight and think im underweight, they say i look around 125-130. trouble losing weight at the gym...? Im a 240 pound male. ive always done low carb diets in the past to lose weight, getting down to 180. but obviously i always gain it back. I decided to do it the "healthy" way, minimizing calories and going to the gym every other day for about 30 minutes. I cant do much right now at the gym because im so out of shape but i usually run a mile, walk some and lift a little. Right now on average i probably burn 300 calories each time i go. I have really cut down on how much i eat as well. I have a nutrigrain bar for breakfast, a 6" subway sub for lunch and usually make dinner, ive been having chicken wings and turkey burgers lately. i dont snack and only drink diet soda. I would estimate im only eating about 1200 to 1500 calories per day. BUT, after two weeks the scale is the same. this is very frustrating and depressing, why go through all this? Im at least happy when i get to eat the foods i like so much... Am i doing something wrong? Is it possible that i just cant lose the weight?
After losing 57 pounds, I gained 9 pounds over three days. How?!? Three months ago, I weighed in at my highest weight ever -- 265 pounds. At 5 feet, 11 inches and 24 years old, I realized that this was not at all healthy. So, I put myself on a weight-loss program. This is not your typical diet and most people frown upon this, but I basically cut my intake my around 75% and drastically increased my workout regime. On average, I eat soup and fruits (apples, melon) every day drinking only water and diet pop. After approximately three months, I am now down to 208 pounds -- that's a loss of 57 pounds!!! Needless to say, I am very happy with myself. After weighing in this last Friday (Aug. 7) at 208 pounds, I thought that I would binge a little over the weekend. I'm not sure exactly how many calories I ate in total, but over three days (Fri., Sat., Sun.) I had some chicken wings, a steak, some chicken, bacon, shrimp, and some peanuts. Not all of that is necessarily "bad" food. When I weighed myself in this morning (Mon.) I weighed 217 pounds! As you can imagine, I was extremely upset. What could be the problem? I realize that my metabolism may be much slower since I don't eat nearly as much as I used to and the food that I eat now has MUCH less calories, but how can I gain 9 pounds in three days? I have heard about the metabolism thing, but is there anything I can take to speed up my metabolism that is proven to be safe? Also, I know about the measurement thing, and I don't really care what the scale says I just try to base it on how I look. For instance, in 2004 I weighed 189 lbs. Then, in 2005 I was at 201. In 2007 it was 221, and earlier this year I was at 265. Now, I am at 208 (217 this morning).

I want to lose 75 pounds within the next year, maybe a little longer....? Is this goal realistic? To lose 75 pounds within the next 12 - 14 months? I am currently 17 years old, I weigh 260 lbs, I am 5 foot 11 to 6 feet in height. I eat 1400 Calories a day, sometimes less, and I only eat food and drink what is on this list Drinks : Water, Green Tea Food : Turkey, Chicken, Peaches, Wheat Bread, Lean Pockets, Campbells Chicken Noodle Soup, Yogurt, Chicken Wings (Skinless, not fried, raw frozen chicken out of the bag), Hot Sauce as a condiment there might be a thing or two I'm forgetting as well, but I do not eat Junk Food (Chips, Cake, Fast Food, etc.) I do not eat anything fried, I do not eat alot of carbs (Pasta, Rice, etc) And I also take a Vitamin Pill daily. And like I said I eat 1400 calories a day consisting of what I said I eat, sometimes fewer calories. For exercise, I do 30 Jumping Jacks, 30 Crunches, and an hour or so of walking, all of this is on a daily basis. So with all this said, is going from 260 lbs to 185 - 190 lbs within 12 - 14 months a reealistic goal?
i feel like a huge fat glutton. is this horrible? okayyy. i eat like this all the time.. i eat healthy foods, but then i eat a lot of sweets too..i always crave them. i'm afraid that i'm eating wayyy too much over my calorie range. i'm 5'2 1/2'' and weigh 105. i do not want to lose weight, but i don't want to gain it either...this is what i ate today..how many calories is this & is this in my normal range? breakfast: 2 bowls of golden grahams cereal, & cup of oatmeal, slice of lite wheat bread with peanut butter & jelly.. lunch: didn't really eat lunch cause I was so full from my breakfast.. but when I got hungry I ate an apple & then some apple slices (prob like 10ish) with a little bit of caramel dip dinner: 2 very small pieces of chicken wings..(baked not fried)..some roasted potato wedges (prob around 12), cup of green beans with almonds, & a cup of chicken noodle soup with a handful of low fat cheese snacks/desserts: this is when I start to go crazy & get hungry. I ate 2 cheese cubes, a hershey kiss, a piece of banana dove chocolate, 2 cinnamon rolls (660 cals), 2 cups of coffee with sugar, & a little bit more of chocolate morsels i know you're prob gonna say..'' you can afford those calories & you can eat like that once in a while''..but i eat like this prob everyday. this is how many calories i intake daily..however many this is? i need a nutrition expert who can tell me how much that is & if thats normal for me. thank you
Will I gain weight after eating THIS? Ok, so im obsessed with chinese food...and literally every weekend i would buy like only chicken wings with fried plaintains drenched in barbeque sauce and i would buy a bucket of small bbq boneless ribs..it would last me at least a day...i would finish the chicken wings and plaintains on the exact day that i bought it n dat would be like on a friday afternoon...i would get full so i wouldn't eat the bbq ribs yet...i would wait until its like 10 pm to start eating it and like an hour later i would go to sleep..i wouldn't exercise at all to burn the calories..i would just lay down and watch tv then go to sleep...on saturday i would get the bbq ribs and eat it for breakfast and eat other stuff like bacon, etc, still not exercise..then like 2 hours later if their still more bbq ribs i eat some more and made sure alot of left over bbq on the bottom of the bucket would go over it..i would eat that and spaghetti for lunch...then like in the afternoon, i would eat the rest of the ribs and eat junk food like chips and stuff..i would not eat anything healthy...and also when sometimes i finish all my chinese food, sometimes i would buy more on sunday and eat everything on that same day.... this is how i eat on weekends...i eat bad on weekdays also but not as bad..i eat homemade food, but its still not healthy cause most of it is fried..on weekdays i would always eat homemade fried chicken sometimes drenched in bbq with a side of rice, etc.. can i gain weight from eating all these stuff?? Im 16 and my metabolism is pretty fast but i dont know how long it could stay this fast..so i just want to know in the future can i possibly gain alot of weight from eating this way??
Throwing up food and calories, NOT BULIMIA!? Ok this is gross but... I ate a chicken drumstick, breast, and wing (all with skin and roasted in a butter sauce) then threw up a lot of it, how many calories would I have actually absorbed? I threw up about 15 minutes after eating it. BTW...I threw up because I have the flu, not on purpose. But I figure as long as I threw it up, I may as well know if I lost any calories or not. O and I don't plan to eat any more chicken until my stomach settles, b/c throwing up chicken was pretty miserable. Just dry toast and cereal and stuff lol. No I didn't eat it after I threw it up. But I heard that you digest a lot in the first 10-15 minutes.
Weird eating habit...what do you think? At times I feel ravenous but when I sit down to eat, I never finish my plate. I feel like I could eat a whole chicken and maybe I will eat one chicken wing and feel full. But then in about 2 hours, I feel really hungry again. I grazea ll day because of this though I dont think I am taking in too many calories. I am 12 1/2 weeks and havent gained anything yet. I am overweight so doc told me that I dont have to gain much at all during the pregnancy. I take my prenatals faithfully. What do you think? Is this normal eating behavior?

Healthy Buffalo Wing Sauce? We had some left over Buffalo Sauce from Mcdonalds by brother bought the other day. I put of the container on a chicken sandwich and it was very good. I was gonna put the other half on a Turkey burger but when I went to look it up on mcdonalds it had 7 grams of fat and 70 calories. Which took me by total surprize I thought it'd be better than BBQ sauce. Buffalo Sauce is awesome though, and Mcdonalds isn't exactly a nutritionists dinner of choice. Is their a low fat version of buffalo sauce that isn't just plain old tabasco?
Chicken Wrap? I had a chicken wrap from buffalo wild wings (grilled chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese :( in a floured tortilla) My only real concern is the tortilla, even though I do have slight concerns about the cheese as well. I ate a bowl of total with skim milk for breakfast. When I exercise (for an hour daily) I burn off no less than 720 calories and I have yet to do so for the day. I’ve been starving myself all day until this evening when tears had reached my eyes due to the feeling in my stomach. Quickly I fixed myself some pasta to drown that feeling which I hate. As I ate it I promised myself that that would be the last thing I would have today, knowing that when dinner arrived I would be sitting at the dinner table pigging out once again. Dinner time came and sure enough I had 3 slices of pizza. Now, regretting that move I mourn over a bowl of pudding. Chocolate, my favorite. I cry because of this and because of that, and because of that and this. I cry because I hate my dad, and because I can never get the boy I want. And obviously I cry because I can’t let go of my food. My dear comfort food. Its not that I’m fat. My friends say I am skinny. And my mother does too. My sister calls me fat, even though I think she might be joking. I think I am average skinny. And I do feel beautiful and acknowledge that men do like some meat on girls bones. But when I flip through a magazine or walk outside and step into reality, my flaws stick out and I feel ugly. And well fat. I am 5’9 and 150 lbs. I promised myself I’d lose ten pounds in two weeks. About how many pounds should i lose per month with my diet? Right now im not fat, but have a bit of a stomach. Abs arent visible, so i'm working on them also. I've never been in good shape before, so i want to make a change for this summer. For the past few days i've been eating salad, sometimes with grilled chicken. Subway, usually a veggie delight or turkey on whole wheat. I've also been drinking a can or 2 of the small v8 cans and lots of water, no soda. I burn about 300 calories each time about 3 or 4 days a week, then spend a lot of time working on my arms and chest. Also, just once a week though, me and my friend usually go out and get something we like to eat, not caring about calories or anything just to keep ourselves from going crazy from veggies 24/7 lol. I usually just get 6 wings and some fries, not too much. I also start my day off with a breakfast shake with skim milk that has some protein and vitamins, which is about 180 calories. Eating while pregnant? I am 18 weeks pregnant and cannot seem to eat healthy foods. I crave empty calories and I feel awful about it. When I cook dinner I try to make broccoli or some veggie, along with corn or rice, and a lot of times we have grilled chicken, steak, or even Salmon. I feel okay about those meals but at lunch I crave Taco Bell or Buffalo wings, and I always give in! I am so bad at eating fruit and I keep getting worried that I am harming my baby. If the full ecological cost of meat was passed onto the consumer - the price would be quadrupled (at least) The EC spends œ100,000,000's to subsidise animal production resulting in lakes of unwanted milk & mountains of unwanted meat & butter. This money could be better spent encouraging organic fruit, vegetable & grain production In the USA in 1979 145,000,000 tons of crops were fed to cattle resulting in only 21million tons of animal bodies - the cost of the wasted crops was $20,000,000,000 Between 1950 & 1985 grain production in Europe & the USA increased massively but 2/3 was fed to animals 70% of all grain is fed to animals Eating vast quantities of animal flesh, eggs, milk & butter is a luxury that most of the planet can not afford ANIMALS Fishing with drift (and other modern) nets weakens & destroys ecosystems by indiscriminately killing billions of sea creatures & disrupting the sea bed Fishermen's nets kill 10 times as many other animals as the fish they are hoping to catch Fish caught in nets die an agonising slow death of suffocation Each year 15,000,000,000 land animals are slaughtered for food & an unknown but much larger number of sea creatures (including 1000's of dolphins caught accidentally) Chickens are crammed into battery cages with upto 3 other birds, they are unable to even spread their wings & many can not even stand up Unwanted male chicks (because they can't lay eggs) are gassed or pulped while their sisters go to the battery sheds Chicks are debeaked without anaesthetic to prevent them injuring each other in the unnaturally confined conditions they are kept in - this is equivalent to having your fingernails pulled out without anaesthetic Modern farming methods using growth hormones & artificial lighting mean that many chickens out grow their bones, resulting in fractured & broken legs Sows are kept tethered in stalls 1.3 x 1 metre on concrete or slatted floors - they can not even turn around Poultry raised for meat are kept in windowless broiler sheds, with around 20-30,000 in each shed, they live in an area of 10-20 cm square - fighting due to overcrowding is common & like battery hens they commonly suffer from supperating bed sores Broilersheds are artificially lit 23 hours a day to produce rapid growth Animals travel between farms & to slaughter in overcrowded transporters with no food or water - resulting in stress, injuries & deaths - legal requirements are widely ignored 95% of poultry suffer injuries before being killed & 30% suffer broken bones Problems with stunning practices mean that many animals have their throats slit while still conscious (around 6% of cattle or 200,000 per year) & are then dipped in tanks of scalding water (to loosen feathers, bristles etc.) again while fully conscious 4000 animals die spurting their blood out every minute in a British slaughterhouse Calf leather comes from animals killed at just 2 weeks old Cows were fed on the ground up remains of other cows & sheep - the result is thought to be BSE (mad cow disease) in the USA cattle are fed partly on recycled plastic pellets Cows only give milk for 10 months after they have a calf - so they are routinely artificially inseminated (ie. mechanically raped) to keep them pregnant & milking - their calves are taken away (usually at 12 hours old) for meat or export to veal crates Cows would naturally live upto 20 years but are slaughtered after 5-7 years when their milk production begins to fall In the UK animals are killed by first being stunned with electricity or a captive bolt gun (ie. a bolt is fired into their heads) before having their throats slit & being plunged into boiling water - all this happens on a production line with the animals being hung upside down from a moving conveyor belt - this is factory farming "Animals are those unfortunate slaves & victims of the most brutal part of mankind" - John Stewart Mill (philosopher) Veal calves are confined in stalls in the dark, unable to move & are fed on pigs blood , chocolate & dried milk (we are drinking the rich fresh milk of their mothers) Cows naturally produce 5 litres of milk per day for their calves - under the intensified systems of modern farming they produce 25-40 litres per day - resulting in swollen & inflamed udders - at this rate they are soon worn out Large areas of land are under monoculture to grow crops to feed to animals - these areas are wildlife deserts supporting fewer & fewer species. Well their only real point is usually "Meat is tasty" - fair enough a lot of people enjoy the taste of meat - but there are plenty of delicious alternatives (just consider the huge range of vegetarian dishes in Indian cooking - one of the oldest & most sophisticated cuisines in the world) and if you really crave meat & dairy, nowadays there are plenty of healthy non animal alternatives - just look in the supermarket & health food shop. Am I on the road down to anorexia? So i have read a book about anoexia and like yesterdays question i had this want to be anorexic?But now I dont want to i see myself as a fat person..i am 5'5 and 115 lbs at 13 years of age.today all i ate was 3 chicken wings and i feel so bad for eating them so i burned 300 calories on a excersise bike and did 10 situps and i feel that i cant eat too much without getting fat .this has been going on for only 2 days but ive nevr had so much determination before i am so hungry but im used to it.i really dont want to get fat what do i do?
did i eat alot today? smoothie that had non fat yogurt & strawberries, an apple, a pear, some peanuts, a ceasar salad w/ grilled chicken, iced latte, cup of coffee, a couple peices of celery, & 5 chicken wings. i was also very active throught out the day, and probably burned off some calories. Just not the pear, celery, & chicken wings. do you think i will gain weight from eating this just today? will it be okay if i had fruit later? or something else. any advice..
Do you ever fat out? like go and eat whatever you want and not care? I did this today I hardly ever do..but the hot wings & chicken fingers were too good..and a big asss coke to wash it down...totally worth the calories!

Weight loss success through DDR? I normaly hate any sort of cardio excercise: biking, running, rowing, taebo, etc. I have tried alot of it but I just can't stand it. A few years agao my sister had a party and some one brought DDR. I fell in love I thinks it's awesome. I've been playing for 3 or so years. I usually play 7-9 step level. I have had minor success with weight loss through DDR but I have never dieted and played alot at the same time. In january I gave up "fake and fried foods" so no pop candy fries chicken wings etc. To my delight I have stuck to it. I still eat things like pizza but I don't snack anymore. My question then is this. Has anyone had success losing weight with DDR. If so how many calories did you burn in one play through. What mixes did you play? Favourite song? How much weight did you lose? My other question does it sound plausible to lose 2-3lbs a week playing DDR 30-60mins a day burning 500-1000 calories? I got a wedding coming up and I would like to look good for my bride
dominion the grocery store? can anyone tell me how many calories ther ein in pizza that is made fresh daily and sold for 2.99 a slice at dominion / or a&P stores? where can i get nutritional information for their grab and go foods eg: the chicken wings, pizza, fries etc....
