Is Lacoste becoming a new trend in hip hop? I see it more and more in rap music videos these days. Recent examples include the video for "So Krispy", the gangsta that's rapping is sportin a couple different polos. And in DTP "Celebrity Chick", in the party scene, the guys are wearing different Lacoste polos too. Also, I see a lot of thugs wearing it at the mall with matching caps and sneakers and it looks sick. Now I see that Lacoste is becoming less on the preppy-side and becoming more 'hood'. When people wear Lacoste, it speaks for itself.

Why do people from the UK, Korea and other countries make really corny hip hop songs? how did good lyricism become unpopular in the mainstream (for hip hop)? like at the peak of the golden ages, you would get all this insight and flow (public enemy, a tribe called quest, boogie down productions, eric b and rakim , etc.) on the radio and tv, and then later there was tupac, biggie, nwa, snoop dogg - still good. but now it's like lyrically, 85% of mainstream rap is trash and every rapper wants to own a clothing line, and all their singles are ringtones or chick songs with simple hooks and half naked women in their videos. it's like a lot of the best lyrics are found underground. why are good lyrics not really accessible through the radio and tv?

Does anyone remember it? 3. There were a few rap songs that were taken as samples from the song "Masquerade" by legendary jazz/soul singer George Benson. What were the titles of those rap songs, who were they by and where on the Internet can I find them and listen to them? 4. Back in the 1980s, Doug E. Why all the hate for rap music? The current shape of the music industry is often lamented these days, but I've noticed that many tend to place the onus on Hip Hop for ruining the quality of music, often saying it's stupid and repetitive. While I don't disagree with the assessment that much of the rap music in mainstream media is rather poor quality, I do fail to see why other genres don't get their fair share of blame and judgement for some of the generic crap flooding the airways. A few days ago I was up very early in the morning and I put on Vh1 because I felt like having some noise in the background while reading. Every time I looked up from my book I though I was watching the same video. I currently feel bad about being a dark skinned black woman. We get racism from everyone, even black men!? "Beautiful Black women...I bet that b*tch look better red"- Lil Wayne He's basically implying that beautiful black women look better with light skin. The term "red-bone or yellow-bone" means lighter skinned black person. "Black woman burns her bread, white woman under cooks hers and an Arab woman browns hers to perfection." this is from an ancient poem. Hearing things like this really upsets me. Society and the media make black women feel like our looks are unacceptable and undesirable because they contradict the Euro centric standard of beauty. A standard which is commonly excepted and looked up to in most cultures. The media feeds the public such limited ideas of beauty .Such as long, silky straight hair, light skin, and thin noses I used to hate myself and put myself down because I don’t possess those features. I felt overlooked and undervalued simply because I don’t fit the mold Yet, because I believe that beauty is limitless, I made it my mission to prove everyone wrong who thinks that light skinned, almost white skinned girls with straight hair are more desirable than dark skinned black girls just because they’re light skinned almost white skinned. .I did this by embracing the features that oppose the most common standards of beauty like my dark skin and my natural coily (very tight spiral curls) hair. I do get a lot of male attention and I’ve had offers to model. It really just feels like most guys overlook us dark skinned girls or just aren’t attracted to us. I’m tired of hearing black guys praise a lighter skinned girl mainly because of her skin color. I’m just really frustrated. I know there are a lot of guys out there who talk about how hot black girls are, but the girl is usually light skinned with a good perm or long weave, biracial, or multi racial! If you take a look at hip hop and rap music videos, there are hardly ever any black women there! If she is black, she’s biracial or like ¼ black lol It’s like there’s no appreciation of black looks without any Euro Centricity mixed in with them! As a dark skinned black woman who has dealt with feelings of inadequacy because of my complexion, I feel myself reverting back to my old, poisonous thoughts sometimes and I hate it…but I’m just being honest. I feel like I have to…really bring my A-game when it comes to looks. A serious serious serious relationship and love question.? Me and my girlfriend have been dating for a little over a month. We had sex for the first time over a week ago. And before then apparently I messed everything up by sitting in the back seat with another girl on a double date awhile the guy sat in front with her. Both friends on our double date have know both of us for awhile as friends already. I only gave away my front seat because the dude was 6.5 he was HUGE and it was such a tiny car. I felt so bad because I know if i was that big I would shoot myself before getting in the back of that 2 door. We have been having some communication problems. Basically, every rap artist who has released a song this year has borrowed LL Cool J's "I Need Love" hip-hop ballad formula to find their way on the charts. The hip-hop ballad has been the hip-hop artist's no-brainer way to secure radio play for several years, but things have recently intensified. Rap artists have continued to produce more easygoing, melodic songs with R&B choruses. However, the likes of Kanye West, Snoop Dogg and Nelly have gone as far as to not only sing the hooks themselves, but to sing entire songs. Additionally, almost across the board, rappers from T.I. to Plies to Soulja Boy Tell'em have released songs with the female fans in mind, boasting about their ability to satisfy their women physically, emotionally and/or materialistically. Have rappers gone soft? Here is my assessment on a few recent examples. Kanye West "Love Lockdown" Kanye has never been portrayed as hardcore. His lyrics have covered everything from materialism ("All Falls Down"), religion ("Jesus Walks") and perseverance ("Stronger"). Each of his albums has been different from its predecessor, illustrating the evolution of his sound. When his mother Dr. Donda West passed away last year following cosmetic surgery, the world watched him mourn. I don't think anyone was completely surprised to see how such a great loss impacted his music. His song "Love Lockdown," a story of his inner struggle to let go of a love gone wrong, captured its sentiment in lyric, music, and vocal style. While "Love Lockdown" was clearly the most melancholy song his fans had heard from him, it was befitting. Still, critics, including this one, struggled through Kanye's bad attempt at singing and decision to release an album's worth of it. What's even better is that Weird Al has a bailout crisis parody of the song that offers a not as quite as lucky young woman low budget alternatives like all expense paid trips to Costco, Burger King, and Wal-Mart. Plies f/Chris J "Put It On Ya" Plies is the craziest hip-hop phenomenon I've ever seen. Despite being laced with tattoos, gold teeth, fat gold chains and a raspy grunt for a rap drawl, Plies is hardly your typical thugged-out rapper. Unlike like his predecessors Tupac, DMX, and 50 Cent, Plies has not dominated the charts with songs about partying, getting into trouble or any past days of selling drugs. His chart toppers are about thug loving, and apparently chicks dig it. He even managed to get Janet Jackson, of all people, on a remix for his song "Bust It Baby," a feat that left me shaking my head, wondering what Janet was thinking. Wait until you watch his latest video for "Put It On Ya" where he cooks asparagus for his newest shawty. Soulja Boy Tell'em f/Sammie "Kiss Me Through The Phone" Soulja Boy Tell'em is the funniest rapper to pick on since MC Hammer simultaneously released "Pumps In A Bump" and "It's All Good" following his mega success with "You Can't Touch This." "Kiss Me Through The Phone" is not Soulja Boy's first wannabe LL Cool J ballad, but it is the "Crank Dat" artist's most memorable thus far. The concept of telling a girl to kiss him "through the phone" knocked the wind out of me on first listen. It's the sappy kind of gesture I extend to my 6-year-old daughter and my out-of-state mom. That's it. "Kiss Me Through The Phone" is an over the top attempt to connect with this adoring, female teenage fans. Let's see if the girlies go for it. I hope he has another new dance craze in his back pocket. The Game f/ Ne-Yo "Camera Phone" This is just another example of why I love hip-hop. Rap artists give it to you straight and if you listen closely you can learn valuable lessons. The Game's message of the day is: Guys, don't let your girlfriends act like rap groupies. And definitely, do
