How do I make chicken fettucini alfredo? Can I bake the chicken?

I bought boneless chicken breasts .I was planning cutting it up in chinks and bake it in the oven, but all the recipes Im looking at say to sautee or boil it? Why is that, can't I just bake it? Thanks

  1. you can bake it , it will be just fine , don't dry it out though
  2. The recipes are calling for saute' or boil for you to keep the moisture in the chicken .....of coarse you can modify any recipe you want to.....
  3. Of course you can. Personally to keep it moist, I'd bake it covered and quickly tho.
  4. Here are ten recipes for you to compare and try: http://www.cooks.com/rec/search?q=chicken+fettucini+alfredo (if you are making this for yourself, play around with it and make it the way you want to)
  5. You can cook the chicken anyway you want. Many recipes recommend the stove top method so that the chicken doesn't have a "crust". If you would rather cook it in the oven, I would recommend covering the chicken with foil or I have also wrapped chicken in a parchment paper "packet" that has a little air space inside so that the chicken steams as it cooks. If you end up wanting to try cooking it on the stove, check out http://www.makedinnereasy.com/cooking-tips.html for stove top poaching directions. Good Luck! Crystal
  6. u can bake it but for quicker result i would put it in a pan and cook it with a little garlic salt, pepper and water and a bit of seasoning salt then add some butter not alot though and u can use lipton alfredo sides and a packet for even quicker fettucini. hope this was helpful. :)
  7. I have had success with baking under aluminum foil cover for about 1.5 hours on 350, then remove the foil and broil for a minute or two to brown it. Be very careful with the broiler though...it will burn in a flash. You can add a few tbsp of Italian dressing to the chicken to keep it moist and add seasoning for you, if you like. This isn't exactly an alfredo recipe, but it may be good. 2 tbsp butter 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1/2 tsp parsley pinch salt dash black pepper 1-1 1/2 cups heavy or light cream 1/4 cup parmesean chs in a small saucepan over medium heat Melt butter and add seasonings, stir in cream and bring to low boil, stirring constantly. Add parmesean cheese while stirring and cook on med-low heat until thick and saucy. Serve immediately over pasta, with chicken. ** Will thicken some more as it cools.
  8. You can bake it, but cover it to keep it moist! Or better yet, grill it! Here's a fantastic & easy alfredo sauce recipe--ready in about 10 minutes: 2 cups heavy cream, 1 stick unsalted butter, softened, dash of pepper, 1 cup italian shredded cheese,1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese. DIRECTIONS: heat cream and unsalted butter on low-med heat on stove top, stirring regularly. add pepper and italian cheese and stir until melted and thickened. Serve over cooked alfredo or linguine noodles.Top with freshly grated parmesan cheese. This also makes an awesome dip for warm rolls or breadsticks! It is easy and oh so delicious!!
