  2. I like to take a beef or pork pot roast and sear it on all sides put it in the crock pot and cover it with acouple cans of beef broth or water.. Let it simmer 8-10 hours... Drain you can freeze the beef broth to use for gravy in another recipie.. Then pull apart meat with a couple forks and add favorite bbq sauce.. Let sauce/meat heat through and serve on a bun with a side of cole slaw/macaroni salad and dinner is done...! Very simple and tasty... You can do this with any meat.. Chicken breast would work as well.. Just cover with water or chicken broth....
  3. One of my favorite is a very easy pork chop recipe as follows... 4 boneless thick cut pork chops 2 cans Campbells chicken rice soup 1 cup minute rice 2 cans water Mix soup, rice, water together in crock pot. Add pork chops and allow to LOW cook for about 4 hours. This will give you 4 juicy fall part pork chops and light tasty rice to enjoy with a vegetable of your choice. YUMMY!! ENJOY!!
  4. Stroganoff. Into the crockpot put: a couple of packages of stewing beef (~1.5 lbs) a can of condensed onion soup a can of condensed mushroom soup a medium or large can of mushroom 1 onion sliced (use a mandolin on medium for ease) Cook all day on low. About 15 minutes before serving mix in a small container of sour cream and a cubed up brick of cream cheese (I use light in both cases). Stir in while your noodles cook...egg noodles are tasty with this, kluski are delicious and authentic! Enjoy!

  6. This is the easiest I ever found and it came form someone on weight watchers. Whole Roast chicken, Roast Beef, Roast Pork, Roast Lamb, or whatever your heart desires. Make 4 balls of tinfoil of equal size. Place in your crockpot. Place whatever large cut of meat you want on it, spiced the way you like it (I even cut slits and place garlic cloves into them). Roast on low 4 - 8 hrs. With a whole chicken, I wash it under cold water then sprinkle Lawry's seasoned salt all over it before I place it in the crockpot. DO NOT add water or broth to any of these, the juices from the meat will drip to the bottom of the crockpot and will keep the meat moist, but the fat and most of the BAD stuff will end up in the bottom of the crockpot, where you can just dispose of it. The meats come out sooooo juicy and tender this way, I will never fix them any other way.
  7. Crock Pot Meat Loaf Ingredients: 2 1/2 pounds ground beef 1/4 cup ketchup 1 tablespoon brown sugar 1 egg 1 cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1 small onion (diced) 1/4 cup water Directions: Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Form into a meatloaf shape that will fit into your crock pot. Cut a strip of foil and place under the meatloaf in crock pot. Cut it long enough to cover the bottom and sides of meatloaf. Place meat loaf in crock pot and top with an additional 2 tablespoons ketchup. Cover and cook on low for approximately 8 hours. Crock Pot Garlic Pork Roast 1 (3 1/2-lb.) boneless pork loin roast 1 T. vegetable oil 1 t. salt 1/2 t. pepper 1 med. onion, sliced 3 cloves garlic, peeled 1 C. chicken broth or water Trim excess fat from pork. Place onion and garlic in 3 1/2 to 6 qt. slow cooker. Place pork on top of onion and garlic. Pour broth over pork. Cover and cook on LOW heat setting 8-10 hours or until pork is tender Crock Pot Morning Casserole 1 bag (32 oz.) frozen hash brown potatoes 1 lb. of bacon diced, cooked and drained or 1 lb. cooked ham, cubed 1 medium diced onion 1 green bell pepper diced 1 1/2 C. shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese 1 dozen eggs 1 C. milk 1 t. salt 1 t. pepper (more or less to taste) Place a layer of frozen potatoes on the bottom of the slow cooker, followed by a layer of bacon then onions, green pepper and cheese. 8. For something totally different, try a pork butt and cover it with pineapple juice adding a few drops of liquid smoke (found at any grocery store - just ask if you can't find it). Set your crockpot on low and cook all day. It tastes like hawaiian pork - smokey and sweet. MmmMmmgood.

  11. Hi! One of my favorites (not that I make many things in crock pot) is a Beef Veggie Soup (comes out almost like a stew!) recipe that came with a small crock pot I bought. I can't find the book, but I've made it so much, I remember by heart. I'll give quantities called for, but I always add more veggies, and this is for a sm. crock pot (3-1/2 qt.?): Beef Vegetable Soup: 1 lb. lean beef stew meat 1 md./lg. russet potato-peeled & cubed (1/2 in. or so) 1 md. onion, coarsely chopped 2 carrots (I do 4-5)-sliced (I clean, but don't even peel) 2 stalks celery (I do 1-2 more)-sliced 1 can diced tomatoes with juice (28 oz.?--I get lg. and add more) 1 tablespoon dried parsley (I add a bit more) 1/2 level tsp. thyme (don't over-do too much on it!) 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper Water (add after ingredients til approx. 1 inch from top of pot) Combine in pot and cook per manufacturer instructions. I layer ingredients a bit to mix it up, and sometimes add a sliced up parsnip and green beans. A simple, but very tasty recipe.
