barbecue chicken in crockpot??????How LONG!help!!?
I want to make barbecue chicken sandwhiches in the crockpot. Just something easy using BONELESS skinless chicken breast and bottled sauce.I have looked on the internet for recipes to see how long I would cook it on low. They all have differant times ranging from 5 to 9 hours. I am paranoid when it comes to undercooked chicken and seeing as it will be soaking in red sauce I would like to know if anybody has ever actually cooked boneless barbecue chicken breasts in crockpot and if so How long on low???Thanks!!!

- I make barbeque this way all the time. Just put the chicken in the crockpot and cover it in sauce. Start it on high for the first hour, then turn down to low for another 3 - 4 hours. When the chicken is tender and pulling apart, it is done. It will not become tender until it is fully cooked, so that is how you will know. If you can take two forks and EASILY pull the chicken apart, you're good to go. Good luck. :)
- Yes--cook the chicken on high for 4 hours, THEN add the sauce----remove & shred the chicken at that point if possible. Cook another 1-2 hours, and serve on crusty rolls! I've done this many times--never any left!
- Hmm I don't but dam it sounds good
