can i buy a live duck or chicken from a poultry farm?
has anyone done this? i want to 'save' one. are poultry farms open to this? im not sure if 'poultry farm' is the correct term. what i mean is the equivalent to a meat processing plant, only, with birds.

- yea, i think so. u can ask the people u want it live and ask them to put the chicken or duck in a box. that's cool u want 2 save an animal. good luck!
- I doubt the processor will sell you a bird, try the rural hardware store or a farmers co-op, they usually have birds for sale
- Depending on where you live there are groups that "rescue" Poultry etc. They then rehome them with people like yourself. Generally they will not let you have one on its own, and most groupd prefer you to take 3 in case one dies. Here is the main Uk rescue groups website http://www.thehenshouse.co.uk/ It very good of you to want to take some poultry.
- i think so. you should be able to.
- ducks and or chickens can be bought at any farm. You probably have to look in the classifieds first to find the lil guy's.....in afarm magazine /or farm newspaper.
