- The best way to go is the chicken tractor. A chicken tractor is a small coop/pen on wheels that holds up to 8-20 chickens. You roll it to a new spot on your property each day so that the chickens have fresh grass to peck at and spread their manure around, fertilizing the grass but not souring the soil with excess manure. Chicken tractors are cheap to build, making it easy to grow your business as you develop your market. In general, you need to protect your poultry somehow from critters who like to eat them (foxes, weasels, etc.), and from the sun. Most people do this with some kind of coop, and the chicken tractor is a great design for a coop.
- It all depends on how big n d type of birds u r planning to build. If commercially big, first check with your local authorities for the zoning concerns. It has to be away from residential communities, with access roads, electricity, source of water and safety concerns. Then chicken houses & equipments, a bodega for feeds and equipments and an office & sleeping quarters. As to the kind of housing it depends on what birds you r going to raise. Is it broilers, layers, quail or maybe turkey or ostrich?
- since you are in interested in poutry farming, you should have a pen fo your chicks. 1. pen 2. feeders ratio 3. water trough 4. light connection into the poultry farm 5. a wire barbed fence if practising intensive farming 6. vaccines for the chicks.
- I hear Chinchilas are bringing more money than Chickens.
