What diseases can poultry transmit to humans?

1. Bird flu, it is on it's way going West to East. Sick 6 wks, very bad.
2. the most serious is Chicken lips disease...haha... Sorry...I guess avian flu if you are slaugtering them that have it. Salmonilla is associated with eggs sometimes but it is usually due to unsanitary conditions getting on the outside of the eggs is my understanding.
3. histoplasmosis. causes lung infection from the dried droppings. makes you feel flu like. lots of info on the web.
4. It isn't bird flu. Probably the biggest killer from chickens (and eggs) is salmonella. That has killed many many people, bird flu has killed no more than a hand full of people!
5. Chlamydiosis, salmonellosis, arizononis, colibacillosis, avian TB and cryptosporidiosis.
