what makes chicks walk like penquins when a couple months old? some disease or deficiency?

when baby chicks get to be a couple months old they start to walk like penquins and eventually die--cause? treatment? free range poultry-crossbred heavys

2. It sounds like they have rickets. I found this: http://www.ext.vt.edu/pubs/poultry/factsheets/31.html#L2 Maybe you'll see something that triggers another clue about whatever they have or get. Also check the Department of Agriculture web site. In the meanwhile, why not take one in to the vet for a crop and fecal smear, and a physical?
