How long do chicken breasts need to cook in a crockpot?

I purchased 1.5 lbs of 3 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts. I am cooking them in a crockpot with 1 can of cream of mushroom soup, 1 can cream of chicken soup, 1 can of water and some canned mushrooms...the chicken is all at the bottom. About how long will it take the chicken to cook completely if I set my crockpot on high?

  1. 4-6 hours
  2. set it and for get it.....when they start to fall apart... they are done...
  3. They may end up dry due to the fact there is not much fat on them, next time keep the meat on the bone and the skin on , and after take the meat off. You don't want to slow cook meat that has no fat or bone on it. Turns out way too dry. On high should be about 4 hours.
  4. I would say check them after 3 hours. If they are cooked all the way through then they are good. If not let go to 4 hours and check again. Cook until they are done. They will take less time to cook because they are boneless breasts.
  5. HA....that is exactly what I am making for dinner!! But, I was in a hurry and left before I could put it all in the crock pot, so it will have to be the good ole stove for me! Anyway, 4-5 hrs in the crock pot will be just fine.
  6. 4 to 6 hours is way way too long , what matters here is the temperature that your crockpot will reach. In my day to day work I often poach meats(in lightly simmering liquids) , or even coddle ( around 170-180). What will deterine how fast they cook is...how thick they are(try slashing them with a knife to speed things up) or you could cut them up before-hand.If you put everything in there and cook it to mush for 4 or 6 hours it will not be very good.Otherwise I'll tell you the same thing I say to my line cooks...."till it's done"
