  1. Don't they have a normal parrot incubator? I guess you can use a chicken incubator. Go to a pet store or buy one from a breeder. Good luck and have fun with your macaw!
  2. I'm shocked someone would give a fertile hyacinth egg to someone who hasn't raised them before. Having said that ... Parrot eggs are very susceptible to vibration. (In the wild they nest in large hollowed out trees so there is very little vibration.) There's always the possibility that you could use a chicken incubator (others have hatched many types of parrots using them and other homemade incubators), but I'd be leery of using one the first time out - especially on such a valuable bird. If you don't have a copy of it, I recommend picking up Rick Jordan's book, Parrot Incubation Procedures.
  3. WHY would you do this? Have you ever handfed a newly hatched macaw before? You AND the person who provided you with this egg need their head examined.
  4. chicken incubator is fine. need to know how many days it needs to stay for hatching and the temp. for the incubator. Make sure the incubator will turn the egg..
  5. if the egg the size of a chicken than yes itll be fine but if not than yes you need a speacial incubator
