how do i get information on where roosters come from and their habitat?

My son has to do a project explaining about roosters and their habitat. Not sure where to look to get this information. I've searched google and other sites and I haven't been successful. Can you please help me?

1. Search on Yahoo.com or monster.com...they should provide some information. Also, check out your local libraries and dont forget rooster raisers! (ranchers)
2. Take him to a local chicken farm. I am sure he will learn alot about roosters there
