My russian tortoise just had an egg. I need an incubator, where do I buy one?
I'm in San Jose, CA (northern CA) so hopefully there is a store around here.

- you can mostly find those at a pet store but you have to go up to a worker and ask for exactly what type of incubator you need cause there are incubators for turtles, snakes, ducks, chicks, it just deepends on the animal.
- Go to a pet store and you will have to order one it. Which will take some time. While your waiting look on google and search up how to biuld an incubator, they have some pretty good and easy ones to biuld that will get the job done. Hope this helps!
- An egg? How old is she? Has she ever had contact with a male? If she hasn't, the egg is a dud, and you might as well toss it before you end up cracking it and stinking up the place.
- I hope you have not turned the egg over. After a day of being laid, the egg must remain the same side up or you will kill the embryo. Assuming that the egg is OK, get a clean plastic bag. Cover the bottom with absorbent cotton or peat moss. This material should be damp but not wet. When you squeeze it, you should not be able to squeeze out more than a drop or two. Put the egg, right side up, on the substrate and seal the bag. Now comes the hard part, waiting. Put the bag somewhere it will have fairly constant temperatures and not be disturbed. The top of the refrigerator is good. Now you wait a couple of months and hope.
