  1. mabe you should anally probe a hen with a thermometer and probably you will ge an answer.
  2. The egg should be kept at 55-60 degrees. Make sure that it was never put in the fridge or any area around 40 degrees because then the membrane will die. Also it is just as important to make sure that it wasn’t kept at 90 degrees or above otherwise the chick may have already started to develop. Taking the egg to school. To make sure it doesn’t get to shaken up or broken put it into an egg carton. Some say to keep the egg long side up but I haven’t always followed this rule. And the chicks seem to hatch out just fine. Other things to look into before taking an egg to school Is the egg fertile- the hen must have mated with the roster and laid a fertile egg for a chick to hatch. How old is the egg- Eggs that are older then 10 days usually don’t hatch. Plus if they do the chicks are more likely to have lameness and other heath issues. Was the egg washed- Please don’t wash your egg. Eggshells are permible so if the egg is washed the bacteria soaks right through. This will harm the chick. So if you find a dirty egg it may really be in the best interest to leave it that way. If you must have it clean use very fine sand paper. Hope it hatches,
  3. 100 degrees
  4. boil for 3 mins then it's about right!!!!
