Chook Me!

Our chicken eggs are starting to hatch in the incubator. Any special needs the new chicks will have?

  1. they should be fine just make sure to put a bottle cap full of water with them they can drown in anything much bigger
  2. make sure you get a water bowl that is specifically meant for baby chicks. other wise the might fall in and drowned. make sure you use a heat lamp keep there temp at 95 degrees and every week drop the temp 5 degrees. Go to google and search the words Backyard chicken. a great website will pop up. Good luck
  3. When we raised chicks back home and, they hatched, we would make sure they kept warm, that's a number one, then plenty of water for dehydration, and of course chick starter. My dad always put a large 100 watt bulb near then, not to close, for warmth. They will drink and eat on their own.
