WHERE can I find A CHEAP INCUBATOR for HATCHING EGGS?
I HAVE A SCHOOL PROJECT AND THE OTHER INCUBATORS ON EBAY ARE $300 TO $500

- All hatcheries sell them. You will also need a motorized devise to turn the eggs at regular times. They don't work very well on a small scale. Unless you have a established flock of birds with the correct rooster/hen ratio fertilized eggs must be bought as well. Hardly ever are good results obtained from these small incubators.
- try a feed store that Carry's chicks and chicken supplies.
- Well, the absolute cheapest is a shoe box, towel and a desk lamp. - Place toweling in the shoe box (make sure the toweling next to the eggs is smooth so that they don't snag their claws in it after hatching). - Keep the box in an area where it won't be disturbed or in drafts. - Keep the light on for warmth, close enough to and facing the eggs but not so close the eggs feel hot, just warm (keeping a layer of the towel over them all the time). - Turn the eggs over (top or bottom) twice per day. Alternatives to lamp: - Crock pot on LOW with lots of toweling below. Keep lid off and eggs close to top without sticking out. (You don't want to boil them!) As with the lamp, keep a layer of towel over the top and turn eggs twice per day. Good luck!
