Question about incubating?

Hello, I am currently incubating some duck eggs in a homemade incubator. My problem is that the humidity is around 80% whereas it should be 50-55%. The container of water that is in there is pretty small and I can't really imagine making it any larger. I poked several holes in the incubator thinking that it would bring down the humidity, but it didn't do much. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.
