- they work just fine, but you will need to manually turn the eggs at least 2 times a day 4 times a day is better. spray the eggs 2 times a day with warm clean water. BE SURE that you get the temperature set correctly for the type eggs your hatching before putting any eggs in. good luck
- Yes, I still do. They work fine for chicken eggs, but not so good for duck eggs. Duck eggs need a turbo-fan to circulate the air, spreading the humidity around evenly. An egg tuner is nice to have too, unless you want to turn them by hand. You can try the duck eggs in it w/o the turbo-fan, but the hatch will not be very good. If you want a good hatch, get the turbo-fan and install it. I've never had to open mine for 5 min. a day. I only open it to candle the eggs.
- You got all great answers for your question. I can't add anymore to them, except, if your just starting out, small time, don't spend any more money than you have too. We picked up a styrofoam (excuse the spelling) cheapy at a garage sale. It works just fine for the few chicken eggs we hatch for the granddaughters. We get crossbreeds out of the deal, so we don't do too many. Have fun & Eat well
