When the government, and the rest of the idiots ban incandesent bulbs, where will we get replacements?
We who are of the past, still use bulbs to maintain warmth in chick brooders, to keep a water pump and lines from freezing on a dip in temperature below freezing. Toy baking ovens still use them, incubators, antique chandeliers, and lamps, a long list of their use. Baker ovens work for little girls, and that's not important? Inmates make them from tin foil and cardboard. You must have attended government schools heh?

- Mexico,or Canada.it always seem that when any thing works good the gov. always got to get rid of it so we have to keep spending just like meds they took off the shelves.I can't wait till they bring back public hangings
- We as a society, & more importantly as a civilization will adapt & survive. I'm sure that there were critics that protested gas street lights being replaced back in the day. Not to mention all those people who said that the automobile was simply a novelty. If you're that paranoid, start filling that bomb shelter I know you have dug in your back yard with incandescent bulbs now! They still sell toy bake ovens? Now there's a legitimate argument to help prevent the demise of the incandescent bulb!!
- the whole point is to get people to abandon old inefficient technology. They will make bulbs that fit in your precious chandelier, chickens can be incubated using ANY source of heat, a bulb is just conveinient. I have never used a bulb to keep anything from freezing, and I really doubt the world is going to miss the E-Z Bake Oven. I made it 30 yrs. without ever using one. Australia has banned the bulbs, and expects to save as much energy as the annual output of 5 coal powered electric generators. My big question is what are they going to do for applications such as lighting a large sports venue or parking lots? Surely a florescent won't work here...
- My guess is that you will need a note from your mother to go and buy this harmful item, that Ben Franklin, and Edison gave us that lit up the world. As long as big brother is in control, and gets payed, sin and pollution are allowed. Most likely, you will have to be licensed, and authorized as you do for refrigerants. Wake up people, the sun is the source of heat, not mankind.
- They make halogen bulbs that fit in the same outlet. The little spiral bulbs, plus they last much longer. I understand about the chickens though.. you might have to get a different source of heat. I'm sure they will come up with something "better". Don't you know the whole point of this country? It's to make MONEY!!! They replace something that works just fine, but is 'out-dated' with something 'newer, faster, better' and then we're all supposed to go run out and buy it. Even though we don't need it. The government doesn't care about us, when will people understand that. They care about themselves and their pockets being lined with our blood, our sweat, and most importantly-Our Money! By the way, I know they don't care because I'm right there in the middle of it all. My husband is in the Air Force. Trust me they could care less about the little people. But, I hope that helps you... not to be a downer or anything.... Cheers! :)
- they make compact flourescent to replace incadescent bulbs in a variety of sizes for most of the items you mentioned....you can buy what they call heat bulbs to put in your brooders or hang over your pump.....
