i am using a heat pad to hatch one duck egg is that OK instead of using an incubator?

- It's easier to regulate the temperature, more accurately, with an incubator.
- It's not going to work! An incubator is the only way.
- A heat pad will not work. For one, you will develop a hot spot where the egg is touching the heat pad, it has to be turned. Also, in order for the egg to hatch and develop properly it has to be at the right humidity. The egg needs to be kept at around 100- 104 degrees and around 75 to 80 humidity.
- The egg is probably already dead. The reason for the incubator is that it not only maintains a steady proper temperature but humidity as well. A heat pad alone will dry the egg out causing the embryo to die. Hope that helps
