Can roosters be trained or disciplined to crow and fight less?
My 3 baby chicks all tourned out to be males so - no eggs. However they do eat centipedes, fertilize regularly, keep the weeds down and are generally entertaining except for crowing at inappropriate hours.

- They usually crow due to seeing light, can be any source - mine used to crow when they saw my bathroom light go on! I moved them into a roost & locked them in overnight & my problem was fixed. Hope this helps!
- Roosters crow whenever they feel like it. I work nights sometimes, and I can pull in my driveway and hear someone wake up and crow out in the barn at... 3 am!! It's not only daylight, they also crow anytime they're awakened. If you have multiple roosters, they will crow competitively, and they will also fight, even without a hen around. My advice would be, unless you plan on expanding your flock enough to accomodate 3 roosters with at least 6-12 hens, then consider getting rid of 2 of them and finding a couple of hens to replace the boys. In addition to having the best natural pest control in the world and free fertilizer, a couple of hens would provide you with fresh eggs as well (and maybe some chicks if you decide to let them brood and hatch).
