Chook Me!

What are some of the first signs my chicks my be roosters??

I have one (polish crestes) I think is a rooster. He (or she maybe) has feathers down its legs and his little gobbler thing on his head is three (still small) fleshy sprouts.(one in the middle is straight up and smaller than the ones on each side of it which point kinda outward \ , / ) The rest of my chicks have one going down their beaks, or non at all. I have a a variety of breeds. So what are some of the signs i may have a rooster. Also the polish one i think is a male that i mentioned above has a toe growing off of another toe. If he happens to me my other rooster should i go but another grown rooster for my chickens because of the defect? (all my chicks are about 1 month old) Also, if you have the same info on turkeys let me know!! Thanks guys! i also have welsummers too why would i have to slaughter ir or give him away? ( I live way way way out in the country so its not like hes gonna bother anyone)

  1. the only way to really tell is when they get larger except for certain breed wich can be destinguished at birth. when they get large spurs ( pointy things that come out on the inside of there legs) or when they start crowing. You may have to slaughter it or give it away when it starts crowing.
