- Goats can eat hay. It inexspensive and they can get all their nutrition this way. They also make feeds specifically for goats which are not necessary. Roosters can eat compost. Which is a way of saying they will eat all of your leftovers. They will also eat eggshells, coffegrinds, old lettuce, etc.
- Goats and Roosters will eat most anything! The goat is the least picky of the two. Roosters will forage for bugs and seeds while a Goat will eat every plant and shrub you cherish, even climb trees. Feed stores have Game feed , Goat , Horse and Hog feed for the goat. These two animals probably require the least care than any other. Goats are hard to confine and should be penned or on a rope while not being observed as they are destructive! main thing for all animals is to have plenty of CLEAN water.
- Goats are wonderful pets. They have to have somewhere to that is dry to sleep at night out of the weather if it is cool or wet. They have to eat more than hay, that is just filler(roughage) for them. They make feed that they will have to have in the winter and when they are nursing kids. They are easy to keep because they eat weeds, briar's, poison ivy, etc. People talk about them eating tin cans and things, they will try to eat almost anything if they are hungry enough, this doesn't mean they should have it or it is good for them. They don't drink alot of water but what they do drink needs to be fresh and not real deep, if the kids get in there they might drown. Goats do not like to be in water at all! Roosters are easy, put them in a pen large enough they can stay away from each other or each in separate pens. Roosters are going to be the boss and unless you want dead and mamed roosters, they need their space. Give them fresh water daily, they can't swim either. They do make waterers for poultry as well as feeders. They can eat scratch grain, we keep feed in front of them all the time. Good luck.
- Goats are one of the sweetest animals that you could have!! I raised goats when I was younger and they were terrific! They do need more than hay and the feed is not expensive and I think it has a nice sweet smell. My goats wouldn't eat just anything, but they did like the bark on the weeping willow. I would defiantly have females. They smell lots better. I don't know whether you want to show them or what, but I would recommend having them dis budded when they are old enough ( burning the horns off--it does not hurt them!) as when they butt heads with the horns, it could be more damaging! As for Roosters, I don't know much about them. I saw you had some good answers for that. I can recommend, good clean water and a nice shelter.
