Chook Me!

Why do Buffalo chicken wings always come with blue cheese dressing and celery?

  1. cause they cool down the hotness... and you're usually drunk when you eat them, so you don't care
  2. its like french fries and ketchup!! they're meant to be together.. but i hate bleu cheese!! it taste like rotted milk and cheese... cuz that is what it is i guess.. blahh
  3. cuz... all that stuff put together is bomb!
  4. I'm ot sure about the dressing, but the celery cuts the heat of the sauce. Sorry I wansn't more helpful.
  5. Because that combo is REALLY tasty! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. In California, Buffalo wings usually don't come this way. The RIGHT way.
  6. The heat from peppers is caused by an oil called capsaicin. They best way to cut the heat is to use bread to absorb the oil or to use something high in fat to lift the oil off the tongue. Something high in water just lifts the oil off the tongue and redeposits it making it seem hotter. So carrots and celery are not what you want to eat unless you REALLY want to feel the burn. I would guess that they were laying around the kitchen and were thrown in the basket as a quick garnish.
  7. Because that is how Theresa first served them at the Anchor Bar in Buffalo that fateful day 35 years ago... Hard to get them to do it in CA, they generaly come with ranch
