Am I eating the right food to lose weight?
So my Dad claims if I eat six meals a day it'll help me lose weight. So I'm eating something every two hours. Here's what I've had so far - Meal One: A cup of oatmeal Meal Two: 1 Meatless hamburger w/mayo, mustard, slice of cheese and only the top half of a bun Meal Three: Salad with blue cheese, two pieces of Bauducco Toast (35 calories each) with apricot jelly, 3 wing dings/mini chicken wings Meal Four: Two more slices of Bauducco Toast w/apricot jelly I've also had four cups of water

- You should also make an exercise plan along with your diet. It would be much easier to lose weight faster! Hope this helps!!
- you aren't supposed to eat six MEALS a day you are supposed to eat three meals and three snacks. With only 3 sweets a day.
- Make that eight cups of water. Actually, the calorie load in all that food is very good, low enough to make most grown men lose weight. And a good mix of foods, too. I'd like to see some fruit in there instead of the toast for puds, though. Make it a little more balanced.
- Lots of food helps me lose weight, but because I have a very high metabolism- if you don't have a high metabolism and you're eating alot, you'll probably gain weight. If I eat alot (esp. carbs!) and then excersise, I lose TONS of weight- more food makes me burn more. Pay attention and figure out if you're the same way. And things like mayo can raelly bring you down!
- First of all-it's usually 3 smaller meals w/ 2 or 3 LIGHT snacks. I don't think you need to be eating 6 light meals per day. Also, you need to make sure to keep up an exercise routine. Go for a quick walk before breakfast then again after dinner. If you can, I would do weight-lifting a couple days of the week along w/ heavier cardio. Losing weight is a lifestyle change, not just a quick fix so I would get rid of those wing-dings and make sure to watch my fat intake. Keep your head up and I'm sure your weight will start to go down pretty soon. Good luck!
- I recommend LOTS of water (but I drink a gallon a day) and increase your vegetables and fruit. Eating smaller meals every few hours does keep your metabolism up. I recommend veggies and fruit.
- I do not think you should be eating six meals a day. I think you should eat three meals and three snacks. That way, you won't be eating too much, and you'll be properly energized. However, you need to balance out any diet plan with exercise! You can't eat all of that food without planning on burning it off. Plus, exercise helps your overall health, and is certainly a better option than other things that you could be doing, such as playing on the computer or watching TV for instance. If you're confused about how much you and your own body should be consuming, ask your doctor. See what she/he recommends for you and your personal self. Overeating and undereating shouldn't be an option - you should be able to set your own limits comfortably and a doctor can help you do that. Good luck! XOXO, Laurie
- Well, your body type has something to do with what you should eat, but here's a few general rules and this is also depending how much you need to lose. First off, your dad is right...you should eat quite frequently and they should be almost like snacks...not what you're used to seeing in restaurants. Watch the mayo, bleu cheese and sugars. I lost 65lbs and I'll give you an idea of what I ate. Meal 1: 7:30am Instant Oatmeal Meal 2: 9:30am Some kind of fruit and yogurt or yogurt and cottage cheese Meal 3: 11:30 Protein Shake - usually around 200 calories Meal 4: 1:30 A sandwich with non fat mayo, mustard, turkey, spinach, cucumbers, and pepper on wheat bread ~No carbs after 3:00~ Meal 5: 4:00 Protein Shake ~workout 5:00-6:30~ Meal 6: 6:45 Protein Shake Meal 7: 7:30 or 7:45 6-9 ounces of chicken breast and salad Now, obviously you don't have to stick to this, but here's an example. I hope this helps!
