How do you cook Shrimp Kaboobs on a gas grill?
This is my first time cooking on gas grill, I know the safety tips, does any one have any other tips for me? Hey, do I have to spray grill before putting chicken wings on? Do I spray before any of the food? I will be using seafood seasoning on kaboobs, any other ideas? This cook out will be for the men in my family on Fathers' Day. Thanks for your help

- kabobs, not kaboobs. and i dunno how to cook them.
- You do not have to spray the grill before using:) Preheat the grill and don't forget to turn it down after preheating. Good luck to you:)
- Soak skewers for a few minutes and put the shrimp (and whatever else you want) on the skewers. You soak the skewers so they won't burn up. You know, dry wood, fire?... Anyway, season the shrimp, marinate them, do whatever you want. They cook pretty fast so don't walk away and watch the game. spraying the grill might not be a bad idea, but if the shrimp is marinated or oiled itself, it might not be too bad if you don't spray the grill. Don't spray the grill while it's on the fire! Having the flames leap backward up to the aerosol can and having it explode in your hand could put a damper on the day's festivities. Actually I've seen people spear the shrimp with sprigs of seasoning like oregano, etc. You have to get whole, long sprigs of oregano, but you might be able to find them at stores that have a lot of ethinic foods. There's also a new product of wood skewers that are pre-seasoned. You stick them in the meat or shrimp and they give it a nice flavor all the way through.
- Alternately spear tomato, onion, pepper, shrimp onto the skewer. I like an exotic flavor to the marinade; Olive oil, lemon, garlic, salt, pepper, TO GIVE THE EXOTIC FLAVOR, ADD cumin, cardamom ( a tiny bit), nutmeg. fenugreeek I believe spraying the grill guarantees nothing will stick. Remember not to overcook the shrimp, as soon as they are pink, they are done. You may want to cook the veggies separate if you don't want them al dente.
- I have a good one for you. Buy the large shrimp with shell on and deveined, I use the Costco fresh one. Marinate the shrimp with: 2 lb shrimp rinse and dry with paper towel 3 tbs rice wine or sake 1 tbs lemon juice 2 tbs light color soy sauce 1 tsp sugar pinch of white pepper you can also add some chopped green onion and ginger Marinate for about 30 minutes, skew them close together through the middle of the shrimp cross direction, add green onion sections in between, grill the skew about 4 minute per side or until the color turn pink. Take them off the skew and serve with some lemon wedges.
