Improving my honey soy chicken wings?
I'm a beginner in cooking, and I oven baked honey soy chicken wings yesterday. It is lacking in taste, even though I overused the ingredients in marinating it. I used honey, soy sauce, garlic, a little bit of ginger, and olive oil. How can I make it more tasty? I read one of the questions regarding honey soy chicken, and one of the answers is to sear it on a pan and deglaze it before putting it to the oven and bake at 350F. Can anyone teach me how to sear and deglaze? I've marinated the day before and put in the fridge overnight.

- Well next time make it a day a head n put the maritinating chicken in the fridge dont use to much ginger very strong n just put it in a zip log bag
- the longer you marinate the wings, the more flavor they will have. also, i would add fresh chopped green onions to the marinade and maybe a bit of balsamic vinegar (make sure you like this vinegar as it can be very strong in taste) for more flavor.
- as a beginner I think you might have started with something to difficult. Chicken wings really don't pick up that much flavor and there really isn't that much to flavor. In your case I would have just baked them and made a fabulous dipping sauce for the chicken. All the ingredients you used would have been better used in a dipping sauce. I always feel qualified to help the beginner because I've made all the mistakes. I used to think the longer you marinate things it would pick up the flavor but it doesn't work that way.
- use a bit, few spoon of oyester sauce, black peper, a bit chilli peper.....to spice it up... all the other things u have used are fine....u can put a small amount of onion paste too to make it more flabourfull.. but i think oyester souce and chilli powder and a bit more ginger will make a huge different.. i do it this way always
- baste them while you cook them, buy a basting brush and use the juices from the pan to baste them, but my sister in law suggests that you dont base them marinate over night and pour the lot into baking dish spray cooking oil over them and cook dont turn
