Chook Me!

What were The Eagles thinking when they went on tour with The Dixie Chicks?

The Eagles are far Superior to the Dixie Chicks. I lost respect for The Eagles. Somehow I feel a little bit betrayed. Cherry, Get over yourself. If you did not like my question and reason you need not respond. As for all of you that answered it is about the money. I could not agree more. But, I still believe they can make just as much if not more money without the Dixie Chicks. I also think there is Politics behind it. Do any of you agree?

  1. You know as they say "Two birds of a feather flock together" -Seriously though, Politics aside, the Dixie Chicks are very talented. I don't blame either one of those bands for taking a bit of a risk. The Eagles are old now and bringing in The Dixie Chicks just adds new fans who have yet to discover the greatness of The Eagles. Don Henley rocks!
  2. I totally agree, but, with 2 different genres of music for their tour, they can attract a new fan base.
  3. omg who cares geez thats pretty sad if u lose respect for that reason. you need help
  4. Not much, apparently.
  5. money
  6. They were thinking about money.
  7. The Eagles are WAY better...but maybe perhaps they were deperate? (unlikely)
  8. Drunk
  9. "Ka-Ching." ********************* The politics are a posibility. I could see the fan bases kind of embracing each other (post Dixie Chicks showing their political cards) but I think it has to do with sharing fan bases. My mom likes the Eagles and doesn't like modern country, but likes the Dixie Chicks (an old co-worker showed them to her and she bought the albums). I think you just have two groups with a lot of fans who will enjoy both acts, but only go see one of them combining forces to sell a ton of tickets for a high price.
  10. It is always money, but Don Henley is an outspoken politicla advocate, especially on environmental issues, and he is anti-bush. He may have met Natalie Maines at an event and agreed philosophically, since we know she speaks her mind. Also, the Eagles are categorized as "Country" rock, and there album Desperado was recognized as one of the best country albums of all time!
  11. they both suck...although i like some old eagles songs they are currently in the suck category...so it makes since to go on tour together
