Influenced by MTV & BET?
I mean, I don't understand why people think that we live in a rap video. This is reality, I don't wanna go to a club and get my a** grabbed cause some guy sees a video girl on t.v. and think's, "Oh... she must like that!" I mean it happens. Chicks in these hip-hop videos are ridiculous now days. It's ok to play a classy love intrest, but the "drop it like it's hot" videos are influencing the young generation to come at classy chicks (like myself) all wrong. The other day this lil 14yr old came at me like, "What's up baby girl!". I mean lil dude...are you serious? Guys out here feel like they need all the bling in the world to get a girl now. I don't really care how many inches your rims are...what the hell are they anyways? Do play playstation to care tha you installed it in your car? Not really. All that extra make me think dudes out here really trying to live like they're in a Jay-z video! Guys, stop faking the funk we know in reality u still live at home with your mom :)

- what? People still watch that nonsense!?
- Only a Monkey can be influenced by MTV or BET. That is because they can't help it.
- I feel Like I am being stereotyped.
- Well as someone who has appeared in a few music videos, I feel your generalization is unfair. I get rather annoyed that people try to blame all the evils of the black community on hip-hop and music videos. Yes they are at times excessively violent and overflowing with misogyny, but it is TV! No one blames CSI or any of the crime shows on TV for promoting violence. The parents should be more involved in the socialization of their children. They should not sit their kids down in front of the TV and go do their own thing. The fathers should be teaching their sons how to approach women and be respectful. Both parents should teach their children the importance of getting an education and going to college. (Both my parents went to college and so did all of their children) The break down of the family structure is more to blame than hip-hop.
- I agree totally. I just told one of my young friends, I'm 30, that these guys don't know reality from fantasy. When the tv turns off is when real life starts. Real life is not as exciting as these videos. I told him that I really don't have 20 or 30 models dancing in my backyard by the pool. Wake up young dudes! TV is TV. Learn how to live your life. Our girls want regular guys and who want us to be real and to truly care about them. Not guys who think they can flash their cousin's bling or spit the right game on some hoes just to get their f*** on.
