what are these big things on my baby chicks eyes?

i have 2 baby chicks and they have these big things on there eyes and 1 cant even open his eyes. they are about 2 and a half weeks old.

1. If it's a crusty covering it might be an eye infection. I had one chicken that had it her whole life. You can buy goo for their eyes at Murdocks or any ranch-type store if that's what it is. If I skipped a day of putting it on my hen she couldn't open her eyes either.
2. I dont think ive ever seen this, and i have been in the business for 10 years. Id suggest taking it to an avian vet, or at the very least the store clerks at ranch stores are normally knowlageable about it. I often perform medical with other peoples poultry, but this is new to me.
