What is a cheap way to make a heat lamps for baby chicks?

I am buying a lot of chicks and need to know how to make a heat lamp or where to get one at a cheap price.

1. We used one of those clip on work lights from Walmart. They are alumnium I think and not expensive and you can hang it anywhere.
2. i used to use 100 watt incandescent lights back in the 80's. Now they have those 10 watt flourescent lights that gets hot enough.
3. we use a cheap spot light you can get at wal mart for $3.97 and it clips to anything. then just buy a red heat light bulb for $7.97. works great!!
