  1. Depends on how much you ready pay. Better bargain and buy.
  2. depends on where you get them. they are not meant to be pets. they don't stay little for very long-some breeds are ready to be butchered in as little as 8-10 weeks
  3. We purchase ours from a local grain store who has bought them from a hatchery. Depending on the breed they are around $1.25 to about $2.50 for chicks. Ducks are a bit more usually starting around $4.00 or more. Chicks grow fast and only stay fluffy looking for about 10 days when you will notice their feathers coming in on their wings and tails at first. They just continue growing and at about 4-5 months they are look like a chicken with all the feathers just a little small then adult size. Some breeds of chickens start producing eggs as early as 5-6 months. Ducks are the same idea only they get their full feathers sooner, around 3 months they are duck looking but will continue to gain weight and grow a little more.
  4. Inexpensive for common breeds and grow rapidly given the proper care and food.
  5. it depends on the breed of chicken and duck. some can cost like 2$ and some can cost maybe even up to 20$ but that is pretty rare. pretty much same for the ducks. yellow ducks are probably peking and they grow up to be white (we have a peking duck ourselves). they arent that expensive i dont think.
  6. they dont' cost much at all. I was at a feed/pet store yesterday and baby chicks cost no more than 3 dollars each and ducks are less than 6 dollars each. But, again, it depends where you go. Prices are always different at locations and they grow up pretty fast. My grand parents owns a farm and they have baby chicks all the time and after my summer vacation, they're all big already. They will probably stay little for about 2 months or so? good luck
  7. Well, depending on where you buy your chicks, they can cost you anywhere from $1 to $25. The more expensive chicks tend to be rare. For baby yellow ducks, I'd say around $2.50 is the average. The breed that you're thinking of is the Pekin or 'meat' duck. It is also known as the common white duck. Chickens stay little for about two months, and I'd say that it's the same for the ducklings as well.
