where can you buy baby chicks?

i live in york and i want a baby chick i tried the york star nothing just dogs ive tried all the papers and the internet what shall i do?

1. You can get them at farm stores at certain times in the year. Other then that I'm not certain.
2. Here in the U.S we have feed stores that sell feed for large animals(horses pigs goats etc) (not just cat and dogs) That would be the best place to start looking. Sometimes time they have them. Other times they have "for sale" boards. You can also try asking the people who work there. If you still can't find them you can try looking online about buying eggs getting them shipped and hatching them yourself..
3. what chicks are you after? and what are they gunna be used for? i live in filey and in the process of my finches having babies Reason for asking what would they used for is that i'm not keen on them being fed to another animal etc
4. most hatchery's don't sell just one and its not a good idea to buy 1 they need to be in a flock and hope you don't want for fighting or to eat.
