Why do guys do this?

Okay I am really stumped about this, so I'm hoping there's a few guys out there to help shed some light. Everytime a guy is flirting with me (or SEEMS like he is anyway) they always eventually say something about other girls: Examples are ; "I like my job. I get to look at hot college chicks all day." Or "Rap videos are cool because they have half naked chicks washing their cars and stuff." I can't understand if this is suppose to make them look more macho and make me like them MORE and that's why they say it, or if they aren't interested in me and they're dropping hints. I take it as the last one, as "Yeah, I stare at hot chicks all day.. meaning NOT YOU". That's the message it sends across, so I always make an excuse to stop talking to them afterward. So... is it a hint they don't like me, or do they honestly think those kind of comments make them more appealing to girls? Thank you!

1. they really do think it's more appealing to girls! do you feel like they are a pig, or more of a man? i do it right back to them! posters, internet, a hot guy walking by me, it makes them think, a little. if they do it so can you!
