What is a good way to keep a conversation going?

There's a hot chick in my college class. Everytime I talk to her though, the conversation just seems so dull and then it ends quickly. How can I keep a conversation going? What are some good topics?

1. She most likely isn't interested or very shy. If she is really not giving you opened answers to your questions, to keep the convo going then I would say shes not interested. Try asking her about her self and see if she talks. If she is in the same class, then there must be happenings around the place that you can talk about. Also when ever possible try throw in a joke or two and see how she responds to that.
