Pros and Cons of having a Roommate?

I'm considering doing something like that to cut my rent cost in half. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons? I'm a 24 year old male, and I typically like living alone (unless it's with a hot open-minded chick!). In college, I left the dormitory to get my own apartment, but now I'm moving somewhere where the rent is going to be expensive.

pros are that if they pay part of the rent you will have more money... if they are good about things... they can help with household responsibilities... if they are not so good... they may eat your food.. bother your friends... not pay rent on time.. pry into your life and even bring their noisy bothersome friends in at all hours. I'd be tempted to hold interviews with all potential candidates and get things open with them right away and have them sign an agreement with you.
pros spliet the bills cons they may be pick they may be messy you guys may end up tearing each other apart they may not pay there half of the utility bills if they don't pay half the rent and its a co-lease its going on your credit record no matter waht one of you has to have your name in the utilities it can't be both so if you have it and he/she doesn't pay you have to pay for the whole thing. they can get into your stuff they hog the couch that you bought they are HUGE douchebags they may have more things then you do so it may seem its more of there apartment then yours they may bring people over and throw parties while your trying to sleep they break stuff and then it comes out of your deposit they are extremely annoying if they have a bf/gf they may end staying there so its like you are paying for there housing they might eat your food they might hog the fridge you share the same bathroom they may leave there stuff just lying everywhere they may leave the t.v. lights on when they are not in use
I agree with famous. The only pro is getting more money from spliting bills. There are sooooo many cons that when i move to my own place in december, i'm going at it alone :)
