- Some roosters just don't crow. Consider yourself lucky. To double check you have a rooster and not a hen, they will have spurs, and their tail feathers tend to grow longer.
- They might be too young to crow yet....give them more time. Our roosters 'looked' correct, but months went by before they started crowing.
- well if they are trying to mate with the chickens they are obviously roosters .. or just very confused lol . . But sometimes even when they have started mating . . etc they wont crow for another couple of months . . the normal age Is anything around the 4 month/5month zone . . (16 weeks onwards) so maybe yours are just a bit younger then that? also some cockerels just don't crow altogether . . also wheteher a rooster crows or not can be controlled by the other dominant males in the flock . . (If there are) then younger ones won't crow for ages .. cos crowing is all about dominance . . and territory and so a young male isn't going to do it when other large dominant roosters are around him don't worry they should eventually start to crow . . if not No problem . . some people even think it's lucky (the noise side of things) Personally i like the sound . . but that's just me =]
- Do they make any sound at all?I have a rooster that just makes a gruntting sound instead of a crow.I actually think its kind of cute.
