Chook Me!

How soon after baby cornsnakes are born should I transfer them from the incubator to another tank?

My female cornsnake laid her batch of eggs almost 6 weeks ago and the eggs are going to hatch soon. Currently, the 14 eggs are in the incubator with the vermiculite. Once they hatch, how soon should I move them to their new environment? Should I wait until they ALL hatch and then move them? Or doesn't it really matter?

  1. When my corn's eggs hatched we left them in for about an hour. But really that was only because we weren't expecting them to hatch when they did (they came about a week early). Just make sure you use paper towls for the first week or 2 because they have an opening on their belly (where the yolk was attached) and if anything gets in that it can get infected. Good luck with the babies and have fun! also you can email me it you have any other questions.
