What sort of heating pad is best to place in a brooder for baby chicks to keep warm?

I have a vivarium pad but it isnt warm enough, and I have a therapeutic heat pad, but it coold to 50 deg after 90 mins and switches itself off automatically after three hours.

1. We use a heat lamp in our cage - just a 40 watt bulb in a clamp-on shop light. Just watch the temp - too warm and they will die -
2. You should buy a heat lamp, not pad.
