How do you make BBQ chicken?

My friend and I got into an argument. She claims the only way to make BBQ Chicken is to deep fry it, then just put BBQ sauce on it. I say that you have to cook it in the oven, or cook it on the grill. Could somebody solve this dispute?

  1. YOU EAT THE CHICKEN'S SOUL AND THEN STICK IT'S ROTTING CARCAS ON THE BARBEQUE!
  2. Barbecue is a method of cooking. It does NOT involve deep frying. It usually involves slow cooking over indirect heat. An oven is good. You can flavor anything cooked in any way with barbecue sauce, but that doesn't officially make it "barbecue"
  3. Marinate it in italian dressing for a few hours, then grill it. Then just put bbq sauce on it. OR Marinate it in cinnamon sugar. Then smoke it in a smoker. YUMMY!
  4. u can do it any of those ways...grilled is the best tho
  5. First you have to define the term "BBQ", but by most definitions, it is definitely not fried. Some would say you can't BBQ chicken. You find that in certain parts of the country. I don't agree with that. In my opinion, if it moved at one in its life, it can be BBQ'd. However, in favor of relationship bliss, just practice the saying "Whatever you say honey." And then take the chicken out back and toss it on the grill or in the smoker.
  6. Buy a pack of skinless, boneless chicken breasts and a pack of skinless, boneless chicken thighs. After washing and trimming the excess fat, season them with a barbque rub - lightly. Put into your crockpot on high with just a little chicken broth, salt & pepper. Cook approx. 2 1/2 hour to 3 hours, check meat, it may not be completely cooked through, but at this time add your barbque sauce sweetened with brown sugar, dry mustard, chili powder and ketchup. (sweetened to taste) I put the barbque sauce in a small pot and add the other ingredients and bring to a boil, then turn off heat and pour over chicken in crock pot. Continue to cook until chicken is tender.
