Chicken Coop and Fenced in Area in the Shade ok?

Not sure if chickens prefer shade or sun if they have a choice? Do you know? When free ranged they seem to enjoy going under my inlaws pine trees and taking sand baths in the shade so would confinement in the shade be ok?

1. Yeah my chikens complained when we had the confine ment in the sun so I wold put it in the shade.
2. be beater then out in full sun but same as us a bit off both is best
3. Shouldn't be a problem, not as I can see. What shade though? Is it under a tree some cat or critter could climb up then jump into the pen?
4. I had chickens and they preferred the shade, but i had my coop with part shade part sun so they could choose.
5. i think you should give your chickens the best of both world shade for when its too hot i would suggest putting the coop in the shade and sun so they can run about there living things dont forget they need some degree of sunshine
