chicken casserole with pasta in slow cooker?
I am looking for an easy chicken casserole with pasta in the slow cooker?? I have looked on the internet but haven't been able to find anything worth making. Any homemade recipes would be great. Thanks :) I would prefer one without mushrooms. I do have cream of broccoli and cream of chicken soup kicking around.

- You can't cook pasta in a slow cooker. It needs 20 minutes tops.
- this one? Crockpot Chicken Lasagna INGREDIENTS: 2 large chicken breast halves, boneless 2 ribs celery chopped 1 small onion, chopped, or 1 to 2 tablespoons dried minced onion 1/2 teaspoon thyme salt and pepper to taste 6 to 9 lasagna noodles 1 package frozen spinach, thawed and squeezed dry 6 ounces fresh mushrooms, thickly sliced, or 1 4 to 8 ounce can 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar and American cheese mixture 1 can "light" cream of mushroom soup 1 can tomatoes with green chiles 1 package (1 ounce) dry chicken gravy mix 3/4 cup reserved broth PREPARATION: In a 2-quart saucepan, simmer chicken breasts with celery, onion, thyme, salt, and pepper until tender, about 25 minutes. Remove chicken and let cool; cut in bite-size pieces or shred. Reserve 3/4 cup of broth. Discard remaining broth or freeze to use in another recipe. Break lasagna noodles in half; boil for about 5 to 8 minutes, until just a little flexible. Drain and rinse with cold water for easier handling. In a medium bowl, combine soup, tomatoes, gravy mix, and reserved broth. In a 3 1/2 to 4-quart slow cooker/Crock Pot, pour in 3/4 cup of the soup mixture. Place 4 to 6 lasagna noodle halves on top of the soup mixture. Add 1/3 of the spinach, 1/3 of the chicken, 1/3 of the mushrooms, and 1/2 cup of shredded cheese. Pour another 3/4 cup soup mixture over all. Repeat layers 2 more times, ending with remaining soup mixture. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours. If cooked too long, the noodles might become mushy, so check after about 4 1/2 hours. Serves 4. http://southernfood.about.com/od/crockpotchicken/r/bl100c1.htm (*-*)
- You would need to follow whichever recipe you fancy, but only add the pasta 10-20 mins before serving, or it will just be a mushy mess!
- Chicken Alfredo Crock Pot INGREDIENTS: 1-1/2 lbs. boneless, skinless chicken thighs 1 onion, chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 cup roasted red bell pepper strips 15-oz. jar alfredo sauce 4 cups frozen broccoli florets 9-oz. pkg. refrigerated fettuccine 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese PREPARATION: In 4 quart crockpot, place chicken, onions, and red bell pepper. Pour alfredo sauce over. Cover crockpot and cook on low for 5-6 hours. Thaw and drain broccoli and add to crockpot along with fettuccine. Stir, cover crockpot, and cook on high for 30-40 minutes, until broccoli is hot and fettuccine is tender. Sprinkle with cheese and serve. 6 servings
- It only takes 8 minutes to cook pasta, so if you add it to a soup or crock pot dish it will be soggy and overcooked. Also, pasta cooked in a soup or crock pot will swell and absorb all of the liquid in the pot. It is better to cook the pasta separately and add it at the end.
- instead of mushroom soup, use what you have Chicken stroganoff 6 boneless chicken breasts 16 ounces sour cream 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 package onion soup mix Mix all together and put into crockpot. Cook on low for 4 to 6 hours or until chicken is tender. Serve over cooked noodles or rice
