What are the chances of male sterility if chicken pox are contracted in adulthood?
The person I am concerned about had chicken pox about 3 years ago. At the time he was about 39 years old. He has never had any children. Thank you for your answers.

- there are bigger problems to worry about when getting chicken pox as an adult like shingles and death.... if he wants to know if he is sterile he can always see a doctor....
- no its mumps
- There is a good possibility. Chicken Pox are bad news when you get older, and they can do more damage to your body. Since chicken pox is a form of herpes, it may have an effect on the man's testicles and reproductive tract.
- i don't think so n quite sure that chicken box is not going to affect male sterility as you mentioned, many of my friends got it before married but are the happy father of some loving kids today ! my wife got it during her forth month pregnancy n now that healthy baby is already 10 years old, active n strong, smart too !
