How do you identify various growth stages of bacteria grotwth (lag,log,linear,stationary) when grown in broth?

for a 24 hr time span and you record various readings of absorbance using spectrophotometer from the first 8 hours and the last 5 hours of the growth? I have 3 flasks from where I take samples hourly BTW.#1 at RT and not shaken. #2 at RT and attached to shaking device. # 3 is in a heat incubator. Am using 600 nm for wavelength and the broth as the blank.
